no, the crazy thing is if they had hit the button and then something still happened to them they would be liable. That's why the chinese dont stop when they run over someone or see someone dying in the street. If you help them and something bad happens anyway, its now on you.

There's a lot of videos of escalators eating people in China

China has by far the most gore, usually from traffic accidents and machinery malfunctions but the gore from South America and Brazil specifically are the craziest shit I've seen. Usually involving some guy with a machette or the mafia.

That law is probably why they have so much traffic accident gore. Saw a guy in a truck hit two people on mopeds so he gets out with a metal rod and starts wacking them to death over the head. They are too injured to get up and run away. Some random unrelated pedestrian steps in to stop the crazed man so he ends up killing all 3 of them and drives away. I'll probably in all honesty never never even visit mainland China. In contrast Hong Kong is a great place to visit.
