Is there literally any noteworthy musician who's taken an anti-BLM stance or, failing that, stayed silent on it despite usually being online?
I understand musicians by nature will skew left-wing politically, and most of them are focused on other things rather than keeping up with the culture war, but when the world goes this insane you'd think at least one of these guys would pause and question before jumping on board.
their livelihood depends on virtue signalling, otherwise they get cancelled
Caleb Turner
>virtue signalling you don't know what that is not everyone who does things differently to you is "virtue signalling"
Owen Gomez
>young people listen to modern music >young people, especially the ones that browse twitter, are overwhelmingly left-leaning >speaking out against the masses will reduce tickets sold and songs streamed
Basically, >speak out >lose money
It isnt rocket science user
Charles Cook
all good music is left wing, from Bob Dylan to Stereolab.
inb4 RAC and black metal, shit is boring as hell and you know it
David Miller
I understand it, I'm just surprised I haven't even seen one example of someone taking the opposite stance, not even artists who already have fuck-you money. Load of cowards desu.
Nolan Wilson
Try having a tour in a country without cops
James Long
Eat shit racist.
Andrew Edwards
People who shout mantras backed by corporate advertising campaigns verbatim with no sense of nuance are virtue signalling.
Andrew Fisher
Eat my ass you frog, i have no horses in this race.
Isaac Lewis
>Being a decent human being is "corporate"
Brandon Myers
>using his dead wife's name to further a radical organization's agenda
If anything it's in remembrance of his wife. Apparently it's extremely hard to understand that defunding and abolishing are two different things.
Zachary Butler
No, all musicians are leftists by default.
Austin Harris
Apparently, it's hard to understand that cities who defunded their police departments shattered monthly records in rape and murder. Shaniqua, it's time to shut the fuck up,.
Not like you give a shit. You don't have any angle to spew your sanctimonious appearance keeping from.
Wyatt Green
I have as many angles as I want and need.
Julian Martin
I'm left by default but was immediately alienated when people start calling for extreme, destructive ideas and burning down cities, including black-owned businesses.
That kind of behavior with simultaneous calls to defund police is so extreme I'd expect it to sound insane to the average person, yet these functionally apolitical but temperamentally leftist musicians seem to immediately jump on board without thinking at all.
The fact it's so extreme yet support is so firm and unanimous from musicians is what weirds me.
Charles Nguyen
>I have as many angles as I want and need. Just four, you're a fucking square.
William Robinson
>yet these functionally apolitical but temperamentally leftist musicians seem to immediately jump on board without thinking at all. lol its not extreme whatsoever to burn down our fucking cages. if you tihnk the destruction of property by the oppressed is extreme but the systemic oppression, exploitation, and killing of working class people by armed thugs of the capitalist class is "normal" youre seriously fucked un the head
Ryder Long
So when someone has a differing opinion then you concerning politics and social issues you automatically think it's a temporary thing? >calling for extreme, destructive ideas and burning down cities, including black-owned businesses. Literally no one supports this than the assholes making people look bad because they're not there to protest or stand with others for change, just to fuck shit up.
Brayden Gomez
Please, I beg you, listen to more music before posting on a music board and stop listening to touristcore like fucking Bob Dylan and Stereolab.
Andrew Nguyen
Good to know that all I need do is point your head in the direction of the thing I want smashed, nigger. You'll always be a nigger with this attitude. Now dance fo' massuh, Jimmy Boy. He'll give ya a shiny new nickel.
Connor Harris
the systemic oppression, exploitation, and killing of working class people by armed thugs of the capitalist class is "normal" youre seriously fucked un the head This, we have Trump sending these police forces to antagonize, beat, and kidnap protesters for doing nothing wrong other than exercising their given rights as Americans. People fucking support it, and it just blows me the fuck away.
Jonathan Ramirez
Absolutely based Trump. Less americans on this planet is always, without exception, a good news.
Zachary Rogers
Oooh, looks like another Jimmy Boy needs a nickel. Now don't spend it on one pair a shoes, you little pickininny rascal.
Cooper Reyes
Yeah dude, moving towards an actual dictatorship where no one has rights, where the Bill of Rights and Constitution means fuck all. You're a complete moron.
Adrian Taylor
Ooh whee, dat Jimmy Boy getting a big pile of nickels today
Hopefully americans will all die within my lifetime.
Thomas Carter
gb2 Zig Forums
Grayson Gray
Half a nickel for Jimmy Boy ooh ho ho ho ho dassa good one, massa will find dat one funny
Dylan Johnson
What?
Lucas Reed
Sure less Americlaps but at the price of losing the illusion of freedom. I understand the sentiment though.
John Miller
I’m pretty certain the Americlap empire will implode in itself sooner or later. It wouldn’t be surprising considering the current state of affairs. Nice projection.
Henry Campbell
>Literally no one supports this they've all stayed silent about it, and staying silent against something means supporting it.
David Taylor
yes those are the only artists I've ever heard of. yep. certainly haven't posted here since 2010. no sir I am a tourist I just found the computer downstairs
Austin Carter
Does it really?
Jonathan Bailey
>Apparently it's extremely hard to understand that defunding and abolishing are two different things. Probably because the people saying that use the words interchangeably.
Christian Adams
im far leftist. i highly disagree. its too bad when black businesses get killed in the crossfire. but destruction of property is the best way to enact change and dismantle capitalism. once we abolish capitalism and liberate black and other oppressed working class folk there will be no need for businesses
Gabriel Sullivan
>oppressed You're the most spoiled people in history; you are not oppressed.
