Former Boyscoutfag/current oldfag here. I really loved camping and having bro time as a kid. The only other brotherhood bonding experience I can compare to it is my military service (USMC infantry, 2003-2007). Summer camp was THE SHIT back in my early teens/middle school. There were female scouts from Explorers and similar programs every now and then at the summer camps. It wasn't really an issue.
As far as females becoming part of the rank and file, I think it will be a huge distraction. Boy Scouts was a "safe space" for males, and it allowed males to engage in rites of passage and learning without their pubescent brains being distracted by tits and ass. This will probably kill the Scouts in purpose, if not entirely as an organization.
Overall, I am sad to see this happen. I am curious as to what other people who have been through the program have to say about it.
