Free market competition killed netbooks by turning what was once a premium quality product (subnotebooks) into cheap plastic toys powered by shitty atom processors running on gimped versions of Windows.

Free market competition ruined air travel by turning what was once a glamorous and luxurious experience into one with cramped seats, sub-par food, and companies charging for perks that were once standard.

What are some other examples of free market competition making things worse rather than better?

Study economics on your own time, kike.

You’re a retard. “Sub notebooks” were always worse than real laptops in every single fucking way, including keyboard size. Meanwhile, I’m typing this on a tablet that has a full size PHYSICAL keyboard that folds up into a cover for the damn thing that is only a few centimeters thick. Air travel is an interesting point, though. I think it’s entirely possible that globalism matters more in that regard. The free market inherently causes a balance in what people will accept from a service, and yet airlines are cramping and restricting even further, rather than building larger planes. Something is stopping them from doing so.

fake and gay

...

True

Since when the fuck were netbooks a premium product? They have existed for decades now and always were weak gimped little shits meant only for web and email and nothing else, hence the goddamned name.

Please die in a fire, komrade.

how the fuck is air travel part of the free market?

Airfare is also way cheaper than it used to be. If you want the olde style treatment, pay for first class.

Airplane service is garbage because people will accept garbage to save a few extra dollars. They don't see the travel as part of their trip, and will happily cram into an upright coffin to save an extra 30 bucks.

I think it's because air travel has become a commodity. The average consumer would rather purchase the cheapest ticket on Expedia and complain about how bad air travel has become rather than shop around for alternatives.

Airlines know this, and so they will try to cram as many people possible into their planes and provide the bare minimum to keep costs down and remain competitive. Trying to go back to the old ways would make them go bankrupt.

Until the 1970s, airline ticket prices were set by the government, and not by the airlines themselves. Since airlines couldn't compete on price, they competed on service instead. Once airlines could start to compete on price, a number of things happened: 1.) ticket prices got cheaper, as was intended, and 2.) air travel became a lot less luxurious:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airline_deregulation

The point of flying is to get you over vast distances in an incredibly small amount of time, not be some kind of luxury experience. How pampered are you that you actually complain about something as basic as that? There are far better examples, like the disgusting enforced obsolescence practices they do on all kinds of electronics and software.

No, the point is to join the Mile High Club with smoking-hot stewardesses like pic related from the 70s, rather than to be tossed a dry tuna salad by a wrinkled, dour obese hag

Those were beasts for their size and weight. 512 MB of RAM was a decent amount back then and that 1.2 GHz Pentium M had performance similar to a desktop 2.6-3.0 GHz Pentium 4.

that aint happening mate … remember … you wanted to play video games

Netbooks were killed by phones doing the same thing but better. Netbooks are too small for anything beyond checking email or quickly looking up things on the net, but they are too big to carry around without a backup or bag. Phones can now do anything they could, all while fitting in your pocket.

air travel is cheaper now because people dont want to pay money
I see people spend huge amounts of money on a vacation and get the cheapest flight possible
you want a sky cruise, and they want a sky bus

as for computers those were always gay, you can get an ACTUAL fucking computer for the same prices as those were more or less now because there is so much computer just sitting around

Free market competition ruined socialism by turning what was once a impossible goal to reach into smoking ruins of reality where everyone is starving to death while everywhere big red banners tells you that you're in fact not starving to death but living a glorious life in the name of socialism.

Something nobody talks about is how 1st class and business class pay for the entire flight. Economy seating ticket sales don’t cover any of the costs, it’s basically a bonus for airlines to even offer it.

Commies fllooding this board and killing it with their inane ramblings is an example of the free market destroying a good thing.

so youre saying we should persue quality of life rather than profit? Not even communism ever pretended that was reasonable. There might have been a german fellow who tried this but I cant remember his name atm

Netbooks are still great, you just don't understand them.

I don't think you get how this all works.
"Supply and demand" is not the same as "demand and supply".
"Supply" is supposed to be a response to "demand"
What the US has is the opposite, where the "creators" supply then demand their price, no matter it's imbalance with the actual value, which is supposed to be a consensus. Last time I checked, there is no consensus from renters or mortgage debtors on housing prices. same for almost all "markets". The only time costs of something that degrades in value should go up is upon improvements and/or higher value offers. Instead, the US has "voodo" economic systems that enable producers and resellers to increase the cost based on potential increases in perceived value.

QUALITY

just admit that the free market is a myth perpetuated by 'capitalist' con artists. Capitalism will always favor the large corporation, thats why despite the aparent freedom to choose what we purchase, like 8 companies control everything and theyre probably all working together on some level at the very least to negotiate what should be a reasonable price for your shampoo or some shit. Capitalism is just an ideology that puts the merchant above all else, and they started by selling us the idea of money.

Notebooks were crap from about 2007 onward or so and that was well before smartphones were in everyones pockets.

Movies are all trash Michael bay tier shit now because they simply cater to the lowest common denominator. Same goes for TV and games especially.
Smartphones are all full of stupid pointless shit like notches or even push anti consumer things like no headphone jacks yet people still buy it up.

Free market can work without industry but any idea the founding fathers had become nonworking once the industrial revolution kicked off to the point where it encompassed every aspect of life.

I think you should focus less on what something is supposed to be and more on what it is. If America is corrupt puppet state with a 2 party controlled democracy run by corporations who tell you what to buy and how to live, it might just be that this was always the plan. The founding fathers werent stupid.

poorfags should suffer.

Tablets killed netbooks.

Cheese went from 4$ for 1000g to 9$ for 350g because they peg inflation to horseshit like cell phones from Korea. 9 dollar cauliflower and 20$ pepper in Canada under Trudeau.

Free market competition killed cameras by turning what was once a premiun quality product (polaroid or chemical film camera) in to some crap digital shit that everyone has on their phone.

Whats with all that retardation? If you want to buy an expensive X then you can still do that. The fact that there now also exists a readily available cheap version of X did not change that.

OP is right though.

If you look at countries that dont have a free market they are generally forced to use the old obsolete products because there is no reason for the companies to produce new ones.

You still have first and business class on planes, when the airline industry deregulated people chose cutrate prices over quality of service. What you forget is that adjusted for inflation those coach seats back then cost like business class is now. Air travel was fancier because it was a leisure activity of the upper middle class, if Joe Sixpack had to make long distance trips he drove or took a Greyhound.

get wrecked Cortez

Hi, we're the communist jew scumbags who started unions and government subsidies which ruined all sorts of American industries, including air travel, and then taught this half-nigger Zig Forums fucktard to blame "muh free markets" in our unionized, subsidized public schools

I would love to fly in an old post war plane like a de Haviland Comet.

They did have a tendency to break apart in flight but they looked fucking awesome and I bet you had really hot dolly birds serving your meals.

But noooo the fucking free market had to fuck that up by replacing it with newer planes.

It's not the method, stupid. It's the people applying it.

White men would be able to make even communism work. But instead, what you get is capitalism and socialism both used by kikes to scam everybody else.

This is actually the point of certain continental philosophers like Deleuze, who usually get derided as "muh cultural marxism". Deleuze thinks capitalism is a massive infantilizing machine that stops at nothing to reducing everything to atomized muh dick desires, constantly strips people of their identities and giving them new ones, and whatever society it gets influence over it ends up reducing all values to economic values. See how many capitalist defenders on here and liberty are completely unable to produce any sort of comprehension or understanding of any axiological values beyond economic or financial ones, e.g. on immigration issues. They can't go beyond muh GDP boilerplate. They are neuro-cattle bugmen. Capitalism isn't really right wing friendly at all. It's basically a much worse form of leftism, which is probably why it is a fellow ideological traveler with liberalism from its historical beginning and why the economic far left is so heated against it (capitalists versus commies is internecine tribal feuding similar to sunnis versus shia, but in this case it's a battle between systems of infantilizing thievery).

Yeah but without capitalism none of us would be able to afford a computer to shitpost on the chans so what are you gonna do?

GAY THREAD
The free market isn't the problem, it's the fact that dumbasses who pay for it don't demand anything better.
BACK TO TRANNYPOL

almost every product in this world relies on Oil for its production and transportation. Oil is traded in cartel arrangements. therefore nothing is traded in a free market, as all markets are subject to whims of the cartel owners.

Only because a combination of deregulation, the fact consumers only care for cheap shit rather than quality, and competition from public transportation and app services has them scared.

This was before the thinness sony/crapple meme really took off, you nigger. They can't cool these things anymore. Even gaming laptops have fallen for the meme and if you want it back so much you can get those. A netbook back then weighs and has the same thickness as modern gaming laptops and even some mobile workstations. Besides, thanks to the free market, technological progress, and chink slaves cost of computers has gone way down and affordable for the average consumer.

i actually consider airlines a triumph of free markets
it once was a heavily regulated industry where the airliners were basicly government bureaucrats with the efficiency that comes with that
airways were luxuries but also too expansive for the average pleb, taking a transatlantic flight was something you saved years for and talked about for years after

with the arrival of the low cost companies a price battle began that destroyed the old government monopolies and supplying to the market what it desires and that is dirt cheap transport
taking ryanair to travel acros europe is mroe comfortable and about as expansive as taking the bus 3 towns over and i get catered at, for a 2 hour flight with virtually no tarmac waiting lines i will accept getting cramped in

but the real problem with flight isn't the decline in service or accomodation, first class still offers that at price
the problem is in the air in planes where 50 years ago they would suck in outside air and compress it at huge fuel costs and then presurize the cabin to the equivalent of 1000 meters altitude sitting in one coming from about sea level isn't problematic
nowadays they refresh the air to the absolute minimum and only pressurise to the equivalent of 2400 meters
even first class today sits the entire flight in recycled farts of the plebs
as always real rich people fly in private jetlines that pressure basicly to sealevel

airtravel was always about getting to your destination fastest and real luxury airliners never happened, if you want luxury and pleasure in the travel itself look towards cruises and trains, the orient express is still riding today

Shit industry tbh. Horribly slim margins, so theres no incentive for competitors to come in and shake things up, save for the supereconomy Spirit Airline tier segment which has seen quite a bit of expansion (thanks to all of us getting poorer)

hahahaha
and cucknadians still wont revolt
HAHAHAHAHA

Leftypol ruined a good board by shitting up someone else's area by shilling.
come to think of it, this occurs from communists on so many levels

Actually it was tablets, but that doesn't really fit into your narrative so I'm sure you will ignore it.

Canadas food prices are always shit becuase of short growing seasons, low crop heat units, and expensive distribution.

Grow peppers yourself its dirt cheap

All of Canada != Nunavut

It's the cheap dollar and stagnant wages that ruined everything. No one can afford quality products so no one makes them anymore.

...

Its exact opposite. Top 1% got most from the economic growth and prospers, luxury market never had so much demand.

it's fucking nunavut moron

Netbooks were literally designed for people who wanted to read email and write notes and shit. You can’t even run excel on most netbooks.

Why people even care to post to explain a brainlet about how economics works? This is just a bait thread, niggers, sage it and ignore. There is no need to answer every retarded bait sperg as if it was reasonable debate, it is not, it is just sperg and bait.

First class doesn’t get you old style treatment.
Do you realize that planes at one time had lounges, just like trains had lounge cars?

HAHAHAHHA holy shit.

Reminder that if you guys vote to have your provinces secede from Canada and join the United States that your prices will plummet and your economies will explode. Alberta will stop seeing thousands of suicides and start seeing tens of thousands of millionaires.

do you think Hitler was a free-market advocate???

>(((MONEY)))

Emirates first class offers you a private suite on the plane with shower spa, an onboard lounge and a driver to and from the airport.

leddit

Another reason unions suck. Those ARE the 70's stewardesses.

Reminder that capitalism and communism are two different sides of the same Jewish coin.

Big business and big government are both to blame when it comes to both of these industries. The giants in these industries buy patents and pays off politicians. The government taxes them to hell and back to make them stay in the red and in debt to (((banks)))
The reason that Hitler's Germany was so dangerous was that it moved away from this system and towards one that allowed for the liberation of his people from this (((global system))). A system that favored the few (i.e. the Jew and their puppets) while leaving the majority disenfranchised.

(the international part is key I should have pointed out, because it is inherently anti-national so capitalism is almost inherently globalistic, which is communism.)

When you account for inflation, plane tickets were ridiculously expensive. 3 or 4 times more than we pay now in some cases.

If you want that treatment, fly a pricy airline in first class. You'll pay the same and actually get better than anyone in the 60s or 70s ever got.

Notebooks were always bargain items.

OP is a faggot. Sage.

What tablet are you using /w the keyboard?

Thanks, I was looking for that Evola pic

America has not had a free market since 1913. This is why only the shittiest companies keep growing.

Sage thread but there is a great documentary called the light bulb conspiracy which is about exactly this.
Pol should give it a watch.

How about we give you some rope and save us some work?
sage negated

Yep.

First part of meant for

Truly amazeballs.

There's a revival of film now, you faggot. Even if its niche, it's occuring partially because of advances in chemistry since film has sort of phased out, that there are new techniques to produce film that have certain effects right on the film that you used to need photoshop for

All these things you claim are gone are still available. That's the whole point of the free market. I'm also going to go out on a limb and say you literally never used a netbook that was actually good (because they never existed) and that you've literally never flown on a plane in "the good ole days" in the first place. I've never seen such a dumb idiot on this board before, honestly–a socialist wannabe LARPing as a boomer.

Wrong commie faggot, patent trolling is responsible for holding computing back for at least a decade. When it's too expensive to enter a market don't be surprised when your needs aren't served by it.
