Furthermore, 3d printing is kind of stupid. It has a LONG ways to go before it can compete with traditional techniques outside of certain (very) niche areas. It may never be a real competitor outside of niche areas.
"Computer people" and "non technical people" like the idea of 3d printing because it fits in with their "desktop world."
Learn about strength of materials, heat treating, machining, casting, forging, and all the other real world techniques to create quality parts from strong materials.
Furthermore, what is the "strength of steel?"
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of different combinations of types of steels and different heat treatments and hardening/ softening techniques that can be applied to them.
Indeed, what is "strength?"
Tensile strength? Yield strength? Failure strength? Fatigue resistance? Fracture resistance? Hardness? Toughness? Modulus of elasticity?
"Strength" is not so easily defined as most non-engineers think it is.

The most important element, however, is proper composition of the material (usually steel) and proper heat treatment.


Guns are actually very simple machines.
They are not hard to make.
The reason why more people don't make them is because, of course, kike laws and ATF bullshit.
