Are you sure? The monument in question looks quite solid. To properly destroy it could take some time. And the longer you stand there putting away with your hammer, the greater chance there is of you getting caught. Remember, hammers also make lots of noise. You need to be able to get in and out in five minutes. Thermite is not only time consuming to make but the aamount you'd need to do something to that statue is unfeasible. It's no where near as good as you think it is. Nitric acid will drip off and do not a considerable amount of damage. You need something better. Surely there is some kink of impossible to get off, fast setting liquid plastic or paint. I dunno. Perhaps you could also utilise some kind of ratchet strap system to pull the head off the blocks. Commercial grade straps are affordable and can hold tons so they could be used.

I've been considering the same thing. Some sort of fast drying quick-cement would do it. But personally, I'd be worried about trying to get more clever than that. As you said, the longer one is waiting around the statue, the more likely trouble shows up. However, 10 seconds with a hammer can do enough damage on stone (depending where you strike) to compel the animal filth to replace the entire façade.
I am not an expert on bronze statue destruction. However, hydrochloric acid or some sort of chemical that dissolves rust in sinks and tubs might do the trick. If nothing more, it would add a patch of discoloured bronze on the statue.

If you know anything about demolitions, not saying you don't, you'd know that you really need to insert the explosive into what you're trying to destroy. In mining, they insert it into the rock. That way, when it blows, more of the blast wave travels through the material and destroys it. If it's detonated outside, a lot of the energy will dissipate into the air and be absorbed by other things. So you need to look for insertion points or make them somehow.

Drilling and filling a hole decently will take time and visible equipment. I agree with your rationale but a shaped charge attached to the side of the head of OPs statue would destroy it properly. Its a 2-3 man team vs a 1-2 man team. A Charge could be set in the same duration as this so-called hammer attack, whereas drilling and packing may take longer – escape would be hindered by equipment. Drilling concrete is not easy of silent. There have been postings on /k of this sort of thing, improvised shaped charges.
