There is some advice that is tinged with the aroma of a "beta cuck", saying to "restrain the strong, reward the meek", which is a recipe for disaster. One wonders if a Viking would recieve this philosophy, or an ancient Roman. It seems like it would be the preference of the conquered to say, "make sure to leave the spoils unmolested, we will love you for it" but in their hearts they would harbor resentment all the same. It seems that conquest is best done by conquerors, by people who care little for any but their own people. Who could say that we would have lost in Vietnam if we had colonized it?
