That's not really true, though. The Jews were displaced by Italians throughout the 20th century, and one of the last Jews, Meyer Lansky, may have been a blowhard who vastly overstated his influence he was supposedly worth hundreds of millions, but simultaneously couldn't afford things Italians seem to have some weird culture that makes them exceptionally good at organized crime.
