What do you think about anti-copyright and open source movements? They have great potential for stopping porky from imposing artificial scarcity.

Useless term who anyone can co-opt for their purposes.
Free software should be used wherever possible.

The open source movement is really double for me. Take /g/ for instrance, most of them love open source software but all because of antisemitism. They don't want to use "Jewgle" products because da joos have all power. Even if it's about Chinese companies they call it "chink jews".

Anyway, I'm fully in favour of open source software, but I don't agree with parts of the movement.

Well thr Czech pirate party is working with DiEM25, which is interesting…

/g/ is just a Zig Forums infested shithole nowadays but used to be a pretty good place for technogy discussion back in the day.

Most of Free Software Movement is pretty left-leaning from what i've seen. And i think almost all of it is against big coorperations.

Free labor in the interest of silicon valley companies and the programming profession. Total transparency as part of postfordist social management

Check out Hacker News. It's badically a more civilized /g/ except it's full of libertarian developers who repeat capitalist propaganda and quote exact laws and 100% down the line capitalist "logic", i.e they took an economics 101 class once and now repeat "WHERE'S THE PROFIT MOTIVE??" "HOW DO WE GET INNOVATION WITHOUT A PROFIT MOTIVE?".

The free aoftware movement is nothing but a free software movement, they don't care about left wing ideas except likely idpol and should be treated as money loving capitalists who think exploitation is a requirement.

Yeah I think this is a key-group that is needed for a revolution or anything of the sort since IT basically runs the world today.
Too bad most of them are free market ideologues/liberals.
Pretty sure the pirate party are liberals.

Well neoliberalism Is currently dominating everywhere. Besides, IT workers is classcucked because of the relatively high wages. When next dotcom crash happens, it will go away.

This is a reason for its total abolition…

It's a little too late for that mate, full automation is right around the corner. We need to sway IT/computer scientists before that, so when capitalism craps out completely the working class can get the keys to everything.

(nice trips)
I'm all for it, I hope to utilize it for the good of all, I support piracy. Speaking of which, hello Zig Forums, I'm stopping by here from /fur/, and I wish to cordially invite you all to partake in helping us redistribute paywalled Patreon content, seeing as how it's just petit-bourg proprietary bullshit. Our community project was first started back in the 23rd of July, 2015. It was primarily started just to share exclusively furry-only content. Now, it has grown to encompass not just furry content creators, but also any general Patreon content. Free art, music, videogames, podcasts, videos, and more created by Patreon creators and locked behind paywalls are now shared for the benefit of all, we wish to proclaim that culture should not be rationed by the ability to pay, and our site has grown to include more than 10,000 Patreon creators and their content. We hope you will come join us, or at least stop by, and take what you want. No forced signups, and our message board is completely anonymous. Our irc is #yiff.party on Rizon.

The intention is good, the movement is shit though.

Anonimity is very important and I appreciate it

(checked)
Explain why.

This is a nice concept. You sure I don't have to look at furry porn to join or some shit?

If you look a people like stallman, they advocate mostly against shitty companies and the destruction of our privacy.
The real Free Software advocates almost all on the left.

Many liberals and mostly Anarchists (wich makes sense) but it is mostly dominated my right liberals ( by my experience). Also there needs to be a kind of ocersight of the people in a socialist state to prevent a counterrevolution

You don't have to look at furry porn. We have a search engine, and a tagging system.

I what.

In case you're concerned, here's a picture of the front page. As you can see, no furry porn. The WARNING message is to remind users which creators still need tagging. Come talk to us here: yiff.party/bbs/list

Oh yeah, we also have ChapoTrapHouse's Patreon as well. You guys like that sort of thing, right? View it here: yiff.party/3343736
Also, if some of the formatting looks wrong, that's my fault, I have some elements turned off. Sorry.

Sage for multiposting.

I would like to remind people that open source isn't only about software, it's also about hardware. It's in infant stage, but somewhat promising.

We're already there since Zig Forumsfags have been 3d printing pirated handgun frames for a while now.

aren't most of them in favor of UBI?

Yes, the UBI will accelerate automation.

how do you use it and search for stuff

That's not…a part of any movement you retard. It's /g/ memes. For christ sake, get out of the house.

So, you didn't bother to look up what Free Software means in this context.

That's the exact opposite of what UBI will do. UBI lowers labour costs, which discourages automation.

Isn't it a bad idea to sabotage patreon content because you want to support content coming form individuals over corporations? Just wondering.

The "Search creators" is a search box, type in creator names to go to their pages. Click on "settings" to search for specific tages.

Free software is supposed to be free for all. Don't blame us for putting them in a position where they need to exploit/be exploited to survive, blame capitalism. And don't blame us because we can't find jobs or have money to burn on luxuries, or the fact that Patreon doesn't take currency from 3rd world countries. There is no such thing as ethical consumption under capitalism, understand? Besides, like 90% of the content being paywalled is intellectual property being resold, which also violates Patreon ToS. Imagine: An artists draws a picture of, I don't know, Falce and Fox from the Star Fox series, fucking. So they charge you $5 for the full resolution picture, but they didn't get Nintendo's permission to sell their IP. And if you redistribute it, suddenly the artist goes into a shitfit and complains that you're "stealing" from them, because you bought something and then decided to share it with someone else who didn't pay for it, and you didn't get the artists permission before sharing "their" content. These people have no self-awareness at all. Why, you're practically stealing bread straight out of their mouths! And aside from that, Patreon was never meant to be a paywall service, it was supposed to function as a tip jar, but since the Patreon creators threw that out the window along with the ToS, if they can't be expected to play by the rules. why should we?
Don't take this as resentment of course. If I had infinite money, I'd donate it to a lot of different artists, but sadly that's not the case, but I wish it were.
