Ed Schultz, RT host who was fired from MSNBC, found dead
Liberal commentator Ed Schultz died at his lake home in Minnesota, according to a report on Thursday.
WDAY in Fargo, N.D., reported that the longtime broadcaster died of natural causes. He was 64.
Schultz started his career in Fargo before eventually working as a commentator and host at MSNBC. Fans praised his focus on middle-class issues on his TV show "The Ed Show," which was broadcast weekday afternoons.
Schultz’s MSNBC show was canceled in 2015, and in January 2016 he joined RT America, the English-language Russian news channel.
The Kremlin-backed RT is frequently criticized as state propaganda and was forced to register as a "foreign agent" by the Justice Department last year. But Schultz pushed back against that characterization.
“RT completes the picture of the events in the U.S. and around the globe, giving viewers access to a range of stories, voices and opinions, and a real opportunity to speak their minds," Schultz said upon his hiring.

This announcement comes as a shock to all of us.
Ed worked for decades as a prominent sports and political radio commentator and personality in the upper Midwest. After several years as one of the most watched anchormen on MSNBC Ed moved to RT America in January of 2016. “The News with Ed Schultz”aired weeknights from Monday – Thursday at 8 PM Eastern Time. Ed’s broadcast was the flagship show at RT.
“We are devastated by the news of the sudden death of our brilliant anchor, one of the best TV-Journalists in America, Ed Schultz," said RT Editor in Chief Margarita Simonyan.
"When the campaign against RT America began and the channel was forced to register as a foreign agent, Ed set an example for all of us, saying: “Let them call me what they want, I am going to speak the truth no matter what,” Simonyan added.
Ed Schultz’s impact on the news industry will be felt for years. His work gave voice to workers and labor unions. To American workers Ed was a champion and someone they could count on for support. Ed spoke inconvenient truths when it came to foreign policy and America’s role in the world. Ed wanted the United States to be a role model to the world and to its own citizens. He spoke out when he saw his country betraying that ideal. For this he faced constant pressure from the American mainstream news media.
He was one of the few mainstream media people to push back during the Bush era expansion of the military and surveillance state. RIP

I watched MSNBC today for about 30 minutes to see if they would even mention him and it never happened. You can tell that they want to completely remove him from their history after he criticized the TPP and endorsed Bernie Sanders over Clinton.
He's old enough that "natural causes" makes sense. If they'd said that Schultz died choking himself while jacking off I'd have believed it, but not natural causes at age 64.

He was a star quarterback in college and tried out for a spot on the Oakland Raiders NFL team, but I doubt he exercised after retiring from football. Could have maybe had CTE from that?
