By the early ‘70s, Tanton had begun looking for further tools of population control, toying with an idea he called “passive eugenics” and eventually beginning to wonder about the impact of immigration on population growth. “I found virtually no one was willing to talk about this!” he said. “It was a forbidden topic. I tried to get some others to think about it and write about it, but I did not succeed. I finally concluded that if anything was going to happen, I would have to do it myself.” And so he did, although not entirely by himself—what Tanton’s archives, held by the University of Michigan, show is a man who sought out and cultivated wealthy benefactors in America’s capitalist class, teasing out their most paranoid fantasies and asking them for money.

“I believe the foundation had a lot more money after Mrs. May’s death. You can check that,” Beck wrote to me. From 2002 to 2004, the “immigration-reduction organization,” as it describes itself, received $255,000,000 from the Colcom Foundation; from 2005 to 2007, it received $6,400,000. The number increased, and as did campaign finance law become weakened, so did their already vast fortunes behind their ideological bias against working class Americans, increase. And so did their connections to other enormously wealthy lobbyists. “We had big work to be done during the period of intense efforts to pass a mass amnesty and to increase the number of foreign workers competing for jobs and wages. It is time that, we as the successful true working class of Americans, quit being bullied for our beliefs, and begin enforcing them quickly, we will not be stopped anymore,” he explained.

This thread is going to get bumplocked before you finish posting the article. Why not just archive and link it like Zig Forums would, they're at least efficient in the way they work with these things.

Before Trump came to power, this policy was most fully articulated in Arizona’s SB 1070, drafted by Kris Kobach and passed with support from the private prison industry, the very text of which reads: “The intent of this act is to make attrition through enforcement the public policy of all state and local government agencies in Arizona.” Thanks to litigation brought by groups like the National Immigration Law Center and the American Civil Liberties Union, SB 1070 has largely been defanged since its passage in 2010; neither this nor the fact that hardly anyone ever “self-deports” has dissuaded the Trump administration from enacting an immigration regime animated by this idea. “If you’re in this country illegally, and you committed a crime by entering this country, you should be uncomfortable,” Thomas Homan (Paid for by Tanton associated lobbying) told Congress last year. “You should look over your shoulder, and you need to be worried. Not just about law enforcement, you do not ever belong here just because you were pregnant when you crossed the border. Your infant will be suspended from your care, and taken to more responsible hands. You will not receive citizenship, and we promise you that your life will be more miserable for your decision, not just by law enforcement, but by common decent folk.”

For a very long time a medical professional named Tanton behind a vast fortune was a natural conservationist liberal who pushed for further ecological protection, which by itself, is not a bad idea. However, said person was behind a family who's vast fortune was made and still exists due to slave labor in the 19th century aristocracy of America, and their family has held a grudge since.
This eco-friendly thinking quickly evolved into seeing minorities as a direct threat to an intelligent way of life and equality with nature. White flight disproved this and created mass swathes of suburbs destroying everything in its path. Nonetheless, as part of the white flight and isolated, Tanton used his vast fortune to push nativist ecological ideas that were criticized by his peers, rightly. However, he soon realized if he couldn't get academic approval he had to use his families fortune to enrich himself and influence policy.
This was a slow burn, but he quickly found friends in Gulf Oil companies and several other aristocrats from old money from a family bitter about the defeat of the Confederacy. As the old guard died, they scavenged and fought over inheritance, and to the most ammoral victor goes the spoils.
Nonetheless, this was an extremely long burn. Tanton lobbied, and lobbied, perhaps at the time illegally. They, along with growing allies, pushed the hysterics behind the idiotic tea party movement, for cynical means. But as soon as campaign finance law and political corruption law was gutted during the Obama Administration, the door was open. The radicals were paid for, and their engineered voting base guaranteed victory over Democrats weak, spoiled, and gutless, and largely benefiting from it anyways.
In the 2016 election, the four or more Tanton controlled lobbying efforts allied with Mercer and pushed a natavist agenda among Trump, as well as donating to the Hillary Clinton campaign.
They have been intensely lobbying ever since and seemingly all their policy goals that everyone naively thought were pie in the sky are now being enforced as nearly all politicians are under the thumb of Tanton's lobbying efforts promoting the most vicious to higher degrees of power through congress, straight into the Department of Homeland Security, and ICE.
In other words an insane boomer who has broken all of his ethics, and doesn't care, is pushing people he helped elect to promote the most radical or incompetent people for the job. Trump being Trump, financed by these interests, is helping push the agenda. You scratch my back, I scratch yours.
The long lasting effects of this, especially within the Department of Homeland Security are unknown, but I would be afraid.

The environmentalist movement has always been a haven for old-school eugenics, where do you think they get their funding? That's why the problem is never overproduction of useless shit or corporations, but "overpopulation". It's also why, instead of environmental problems that we can see right now and that actually affect communities, they keep braying about muh population bomb and how everyone who isn't rich needs to be condensed into cities where they can be tightly controlled and people can't be allowed to transport freely throughout the country, while initiatives for public transportation that would reduce pollution emission are continuously blocked.
Also the Department of Homeland Security was taken from a literal Nazi office. It's not surprising, such an elder Bush was one of the instigators of the fascist Business Plot and they've always been sympathetic to Nazism. America done got Nazified.

Last year, an analysis by the SPLC and the Center for New Community found that 450 weekly emails from CIS to subscribers over the course of nearly a decade included 1,700 articles from VDARE.com—an average of three VDARE pieces per week—including 51 pieces written by Peter Brimelow himself. Tanton owned CIS also shared pieces written by Richard Spencer and published by websites he ran

The University of Michigan declined to comment. “We have nothing to share,” a spokesperson wrote in an email. The man himself is incapacitated. “Dr. Tanton no longer grants interviews,” a spokesperson for U.S. Inc, one of Tanton’s nonprofit funding vehicles, wrote to me in an email. “He is in an assisted living home with late stage Parkinson’s Disease.”
