Both are depressingly awful.
When you shoot for politics, if you gain traction you get donors wanting to buy your platform. You can say no, but things will be much harder. Then other people enter your party. Then they will find out if they go away from hard socialism to a more liberal version they have more successful and slowly you're forced to take in liberal positions and become just another liberal with a slightly different vision. That or you become obscure, not known by anyone. Or if you get some recognition a pariah that everyone avoids voting for.
If you're in Europe there is not any real movement you can join that looks to be successful. The only ones protesting stuff are green / climate groups and antifa. I doubt both of those are something you're looking for.
