I believe capitalism is the great filter and that aliens advanced enough to reach us will have advanced beyond the profit motive and private property.
I’m open to nuclear war not being the only way to collapse capitalism. For us, climate change and oil depletion may be the nuclear war of the 21st century.

I myself am a legitmate Posadist, and still trying to find more of Posadas works. Its hard as hell trying to find them. Yes this is true and I had mention that the Posadists must be willing to help those in a natural disasters when they occur. This way our Alien Comrades can help us, for I believe they are watching us and cannot directly interfere because of a prime directive. For we need to contact them peacefully first before the bourgeois continue to brain wash and fear monger our comrades that are the vanguard beyond history.

If I understand correctly Posadists are just trots, South American trots in particular. All the alien and nuke shit is just something Posadas wrote about at some point because those were hot topics at the time, it's not a cornerstone of their ideology.

South American Posadists and most modern Posadists disassociate themselves with UFOs and new-age stuff, but keeping the positions on nuclear war. This ‘mainstream’ Posadism is more of a Marxism-Leninism-Trotskyism-Posadism than a Juan Posadas Thought.

In terms of energy, it would cost aliens advanced enough to get here almost nothing. They themselves probably wouldn’t be able to profit off of it, and would definitely have no reason to profit off of anything anymore, given they have moved past capitalism.
For us as a species, we may have to ‘prove our worth,’ in terms of responsibility for our world and each other to the aliens, if they have a prime directive.
My basic reasoning on why the aliens would be socialist is that as of now, Space is pretty unprofitable and still requires heavy government intervention for a single rocket to send a probe to Mars. The USSR was the first to send most people and things to space, except putting someone on the moon. To the USSR, space was pursued for reasons other than profit, which the US government had set up NASA for, but the US was still motivated by competition and not cooperation.
The OECD predicts capitalism will collapse by 2060, around the time natural gas depletes, whereas oil will have been depleted almost 10 years prior. This points to the end of capitalism at least being partially caused by fossil fuels running out.

Why do people spend time studying bears, frogs, ants? Space is almost empty. On the few rocks on which you can land, only a small fraction contain life. If an alien civ has achieved post-scarcity, then they're probably also immortal. So they would get bored eventually. Thus, every form of life is precious because it provides unique interactions and perspectives that can alleviate boredom.
Also if they're watching then they sure as hell aren't doing it in flying saucers. Instead there are probably cameras in grains of dust or in insects that transmit to their ship hidden in an asteroid in the solar system. They would be undetectable to us.
