- US & POW/MIA flag hangs limp, then jerks right in a sudden gust of wind, symbolizing turn to full-blown reaction - "Mass extinction we feared has already begun," IE climate refugees and Yemen genocide - "And we are the cause, we are the infection." Proles are just an infection that should be wiped out or contained. - "Like all living organisms, the Earth's unleashed a fever to fight the infection. Its ORIGINAL AND RIGHTFUL RULERS, THE TITANS." The fascist empires that base their legitimacy on "muh heritage" will "wake up" and cleanse the earth of filthy proles. - "These creatures have remained in hiding around the world." Fascist cells have lain dormant and lurking in all the imperialist states biding their time. - "And unless all the titans are found, our planet will perish, and so will we." Only "our fascists" can fight "their fascists" and save the empire. - "I'm sorry but this is the only way." Self-explanatory. - muh troops, F35 product placement - "Long live the king." GOT tie-in, fascist revival of feudalism. - Godzilla given an F35 escort by USAF youtube.com/watch?v=wVDtmouV9kM
Hollywood movies are getting really overt with this shit.
What else is new? You'll just exhaust yourself if every instance of fascist sympathetic material in imperialist mass media comes as a disturbing novelty.

Godzilla is a symbol of anti-imperialist proletarian strength

The kaiju itself or the movies?
Colton Walker
Can't hurt to talk about it once in a while.
No, in the new Yank movies he's the US military,
Ayden Brown
mudskins are an infection tbh.
Gabriel James
Wouldn’t the US military be the US military?
Elijah Mitchell
yeah and he's part of it, he's like their rogue faction in these movies
Henry Morris
OP could you hook me up with some more marxist critiques of movie trailers?
How about reading the article series, it's a solid analysis. It applies the "propaganda model" analysis to Chomsky. Chomsky is flat-out wrong and dishonest on many things.
Dylan Martinez
hot take for a faggot ruling class is ruling class, no matter which identity it hides behind you'd learn your lesson too if your "wishes" were to be granted, delusional fool
Connor Gray
I read the same article on there I have read a thousand times about his luckwarm endorsement of electoral politics and reeee he says vote democrat because of climate change. Maybe I'll give another one a second try if you promise their not armchair radical garb since I did like Manufacturing Consent and I am sure Chomsky is probably wrong sometimes.
John Ortiz
Sounds like you didn't read the whole thing. Anyway, I was linking that blog because it has analysis of movies, employing Marxism and the propaganda model.
Michael Ortiz
why don't you do an analysis about how BLACKED porn is inherently racist and dehumanizing of niggers instead
Isaiah Jackson
Prove it faggot.
Alexander Gray
How the fuck do get away with saying shit like this and I get banned for saying working with socially c.onservative socialists is ok?

Huh, good for you man.
Elijah Richardson
do you expect vols to ban people instantly, 24/7?
Samuel Johnson
Come on, some people have been banned permanently for saying Palestinians don't matter. While I may disagree absolutely with those guys, this dude has already said a bunch of shit that by this logic should gotten him a permanent ban. pic related is one of my favorites, maybe not permaban worthy, but still hilarious
Hmm you might be on to something here. Outside of the shitty Amerifat movies he is usually either murdering Japanese people and destroying their cities (japan is a major imperialist force in Asia) or defending Earth from destruction (self-explanatory.) Also the atomic bomb (and the destruction it brought to Japan) was apparently a major influence on the creator.
Nah he was a boomer who worked for the "ZOG" (as a defense contractor lol, wonder how many palestinian children he helped the zionists kill?) so he ended up having multiple children despite looking like a total dweeb, unlike you.
Zachary Nguyen
quality thread.
Parker Garcia
I don't look like a dweeb, I look sexy af ive had baboon sex with many baboons
Justin Cook
Jokes aside, the original Godzilla was meant to be synbolic of an anthropomorphized atom bomb, with all the havoc and destruction is wreaks. Look it up yourself.
Eli Morales
Bump.
Austin Morales
I wasn’t joking, Godzilla is like a symbol for the earth itself striking back at those killing it. Used to be the threat of imperialist nuclear holocaust, now it’s late stage capitalist environmental decay, Godzilla is a symbol for what the proletariat desperately hope for, this sheer force that can reek vengeance on the symbols of capitalism(huge cities and military).
Andrew Sullivan
Is this the same OP who gave us such classic threads as "Bee Movie is Fascist", "Devo is Fascist" and the inimitable "Twin Peaks is Fascist"?
Tbh, I just read it as a really poor, distinctly Hollywood take on Godzilla's role. Godzilla always represents an unstoppable force, a symbol of nature's relation with mankind and how it interweaves with mankind's relation with mankind - initially, this was a kind of sheer doom extending from the American occupation of Japan and ongoing atomic testing which at the time the original Godzilla was made was actually killing people by accident. Hollywood, today, is an embarrassingly unsubtle group, though, who also rely heavily on a bunch of things that aren't really conducive to good art.
I still stand by Godzilla (2014) and I have some hopes for this (my hopes the Pacific Rim sequel were pretty much dashed by the retarded Halo-looking trailer), although if I recall correctly Edwards is off the case and that's probably a bad thing. Although apparently the new guy is at least a guy with some history in cult-y horror stuff. The 2014 one actually, notably, did have very overt American military inserts throughout - and it was obvious they wanted to make it propagandistic, as some had noted in a previous thread. But my view has always been that Gareth Edwards did a great job of making the American military look like useless fucktards actively doing more harm than good - if you pay attention, nothing they do in Godzilla worked on even the vaguest level, and even if some of it could be typical "action movie logic" the abject failure of the ideas allows us to bask in just how retarded they are. Actual military personnel came to oversee that movie and get their free roles, as a bunch of guys who wanted to blow up San Francisco and only succeeded in making one of the monsters they were trying to kill stronger (a result which, though a consequence of their poor decisions, was ironically probably better than what would have happened had they not failed in their goal).
So, I worry that such may not be the case for this one.
Jacob Peterson
Look it's obvious to all that mass media is right-wing propaganda but this kind of shit is just embarassing, it's like those Zig Forums infographics proving that children's shows promote racemixing. Knock it off comrade.
David Flores
thread wasn't too large, it sank quickly but I screencapped it because it was hilarious.
Turner diaries literally reads like Rodger Elliot's manifesto at some points In some parts pierce spends more time crying about Muh blond white whores dating black men then he does about Muh joos even
I also love how a supposed white Nationalist talks about how he wants to wipe out Russians with Nukes to own da commies epic style (He wrote that shit pre 1991)
But HUNTER (The prequel to TD) is the real shit It's basically about a boomer Vietnam vet that kills a bunch of blacks / Jewish porkies and ultimately accomplishes nothing while acting like a revolutionary (bit like Zig Forums kek)
Julian White
This Kaiju films, especially the showa era, had some strong leftist leanings. For instance, both "Mothra" and "Mothra vs Godzilla" were about a wealthy capitalist exploiting the talent of two fairy priestesses, and then Mothra enacting vengeance.
8ch does IP bans and range bans. You change your IP and the ban goes away. We're also discouraged from banning tor nodes because it fucks shit up for everyone coming out of the node. There are also no "permabans" as every ban however arbitrarily long expires after three months.
This is why you should laugh at everyone that gets asshurt about getting "banned" on Zig Forums, because it's basically a slap on the wrist and a garden gate to keep out the most retarded.
Landon Wood
I absolutely loved Twin Peaks and Devo before I realized they were fash, I listened/watched them regularly.
You didn't, you need to abandon your liberalism. Emotional attachment to art without critical analysis of its political themes is a manifestation of liberalism.
Typical liberal response, "hurrr durr you didn't go to college unlike me and my enlightened, cultured petty booj peers." BTW I am in college.
Austin Howard
Also I still enjoy some Twin Peaks and Devo, it is well-made art. But I would never try to gloss over their reactionary nature and promote them. And here's Devo's "ironic fascist" self-description from their vile book "My Struggle."
Godzilla is liberalism. Japan has stated it was a cope for the nuke. Liberalism destroys everything and has no end goal or purpose. Retaliation against it like Mecha Godzilla fascism or some neo reactionary romantic bullshit like King Ghidorah further exemplifies this inability to escape
MDE is not satire tho and it's not the same type of irony devo uses. Also using imagery=/=being that thing. Is Joy Division fascist too?
John Long
This "fascism in pop culture" shit is getting popular here. Its honestly the ☭TANKIE☭ equivalent to Muke tier "Marxist analysis of pop culture" sort of thing that you all love to complain about but for some reason Phil Greaves tier pearl clutching is good even though its way more simplistic and in a much more "ban this sick filth" vein.
Luckily we actually have some cool takes ITT to salvage this shit thread
My Struggle is almost identical to How To Bomb The US Govt.
It usually is. Sending fascist messages and not taking responsibility for it is liberalism.
Haven't looked into it much, but their band name is certainly pretty repulsive.
Bentley Sanders
You are a fucking autist. No shit. The whole point. Devo (the name of the band) means de-evolution. Their works are a parrot fascism because the whole idea behind of them is soundin retarded, mongoloid, dehumanized and stiff as fuck. They are not promoting fascism, they are paroding it but not putting it in a good light. For fuck sake they were considered a joke band by most. Also they formed as a reaction to the Kent State shootings.
But obviously autism won't let you understand irony
Jeremiah Williams
I love how you philistines pass judgements on music you are totally unfamiliar with and have not listened to.
De-Evolution, aka "Idiocracy," is something they are actually semi-serious about. There is absolutely nothing in Devo's body of work to suggest they don't actually think a less-exaggerated form of De-Evolution is happening. The idea that everyone is degenerating and getting genetically dumber is actually incredibly popular with liberals, and yes, it is a pure fascist idea. It is anti-worker.
They put it in a comedic light, but that's not the same as refuting and demoting it. EG, the "spud" genocide they advocate is just a 70's version of today's robot/anti-normie uprising. Again, they are clearly in favor of the sentiment, if not the (improbable) action.
And? What is that supposed to prove? Plenty of reactionary hippie bullshit was popular at the time.
Irony can still work in service of the message it conveys. Stop eating from the Zizek trashcan.
Brayden Jones
I listened to Devo for years dude. I still do sometimes.
Oliver Moore
Oh, and same for Joy Division. This stuff is all standard petty booj hipstercore, there's nothing great or remarkable about listening to it.
Brayden Lee
Except the fact that they dropped the whole de-evolution stuff as soon after the first 3 albums. Also explain how de-evolution is a fascist idea? The inspiration behind the band was the consumerist wasteland that was/is ohio. are you fucking kidding me? look at these dudes. yes, they were larping as demented anti human robots 60's idealism is far from fascism Bad irony does. MDE is bad irony. Devo is good irony. And btw I think the only remarkable stuff is the first album and their demos. If you are dumb yes. The problem here is that you are half as smart as you think and also ignorant as shit.
Would you post good proletarian music then please?
Levi Robinson
Their fourth album was New Traditionalists, do I even need to go into that?
It's the opposite of "labor aristocracy," it just spits on and denigrates the uneducated. There's zero class analysis. And on top of that, Devo's material is rife with fearmongering/"satire" about yellow peril, race m*xing, and so on, the ideas are mixed together in their work.
ha ha so fahnee. Ever wonder what the Ziggurat motif was about anyway?
Not far at all, see Manson, Heaven's Gate, Jonestown
Now THIS is analysis.
lol, if I criticize /mu/core I am "dumb," keep up the petty booj elitism.
This is deflection. Why should I have to have some ready-made list of proletarian music to criticize bourgeois music? Go listen to some old union songs or something, they are very inspiring.
Nathan Morgan
DEFEND GOJIRA AT ALL COSTS And Tokusatsu genre>anime, can’t even deny it
I will say I am ambiguous on Shin Gojira, it is kino and seems to have a pro-worker, anti-Amer*can message.
Asher Green
I'll add a bit here Other than the obvious themes against Japanese "corporatist" bureaucracy and corrupt government, there are a lot of strange details that make you wonder what underlying messages are there. EG, at the end of the movie, they drive a bunch of Shinkansen trains full of explosives into Gojira's feet. The interesting thing here is that the original Shinkansen train was designed by one of the designers of Japan's suicide dive-bomber planes. shinkansen.the-japan-news.com/popup_chp01_p02_1.html Seems kind of like something Anno would do intentionally. What does it mean?
Dinosaur movies without dialogue with exist so I don't see why we can't do more with kaiju. I just want them to have more (meaningful, not "muh fights") scenes. Pic related is probably my favourite moment in 2014. Kong, despite its terrible choices regarding characters, did have more moments of Kong as a character which I though were great.
This. This is what I want out of Godzilla.
RIP. Do check out the soundtrack though. I think some of the recurring themes are really good. I just imagine scenes of what could have been while listening. They did some stupid shit (and died) in Kong too, but I guess it's okay if it just amounts to Vietnam era soldiers dying.
Like, I was editing the scheming Jew onto random stuff in 2009. The entire irony of it, the humor, was derived from it being overtly offensive and hilariously stupid.
Zig Forums is "post-ironic" to the extent that nowadays halfchanners routinely can't understand it when memes aren't just used as an unironic ideological delivery system. Like, when Zig Forumsacks have come here to offer their opinions on our memes they regularly just end up attempting to debate the message - "x isn't funny because I think it's inaccurate." And actual absurdist memes confuse them just as much. Zig Forums is so far from irony that it's literally not funny.
Parker Diaz
Yes, and you'd hate it if people worried about that, wouldn't you Mr. Chang?
Manson was the leader of a druggy cult obsessed with Nazi masturbation fantasy. His actual connection to hippie ideology is dubious beyond drugs. Heaven's Gate, I'm not even sure what's supposed to be reactionary - it was just a UFO cult, and they didn't even mass suicide until the' 90s afaik. And Jim Jones was a butchery of black Marxist rhetoric afaik - not sure he was ever actually fascist in any way, though he could have been a government or white-supremacist operation. And he founded his cult in the 1950s.
Hopefully Godzilla is walking in low humidity, doesn't give off too much heat, avoids rainclouds, doesn't turn too much, and stops every few minutes for refueling

no Hirasawa is a good boy who is against the militancy and conservatism prevalent in Japan
