It just hit me right now that we have NO influential figures at the moment, NO actual organization in the left that isn't co-opted by cops/secret services. Like the 20th century was filled with crazy potential but it all seems dead now.
What with climate change, socialist countries turning revisionist or being destroyed, American imperialism going unchallenged and a general acceptance of morbid, quasi-fascist shit - I have to ask; is this it? Have we lost?
Are we in the worst possible timeline? I don't think "humanity" as we know it can survive for another century. The proles will probably be liquidated in some form or another, or they'd be completely hollow and devoid of any revolutionary potential.
This thread was inspired by me watching some Malcolm X videos on youtube, and ruminating on climate change being inevitable. Two different things I know but it leads me into the same cynicism.
I'm not worried about climate change. Just pray these people don't colonize other planets.

I think it's a matter of an influential person not so much being here at the right time so much as it is some person off the street being at the right place at the right time. Given how many economic bubbles there are right now compared to 2008 (alongside a bunch of other shit), l can say with some level of confidence that the next crisis will be a big one.
