Also PDF related is about imperialism in general but focuses on the GDR

It was the socialist country with the highest living standards, and it had an higher economic GDP growth than West Germany. It had video games, bars and clubs and probably the best social security ever achieved in the world.

One of the downsides was that under Honecker, it became a gerontocracy with internal corruption which halted the implementation of cybernetics and caused a short-sighted focus on consumer goods to make the citzens as happy as Western ones, financed by loans, instead of investment into infrastructure.

It had other problems, but these weren't the fault of the GDR, but of outside forces: Such as the obligations to pay reparations for WWII, while the West bailed out and got the Marshal Fund, and it got its industrial and agricultural heartland (Silesia and Western/Eastern Prussia) cut off after WWII.

Raus.

Warsaw pact socialist country did.

LoL at bootlicking.

Kek, fun fact: he used to be a part of a clique called the "ultra ☭TANKIE☭s" in the CPGB along with a bloke called Andrew Murray. They are now both advisors to Corbyn.

I am saying that bootlicking germany is stupid. Silesia is Polish and Soviet Union needed Prussia, which was is Baltic not German land, as a warm water port.

Until the ethnic cleansing it was 3/4 German by population.

It was Baltic and German.

lol no

Germans got there via colonialism, and it was not Polish and Czechoslovakian fault that their were afraid of Germans for their numerous past crimes.

When?

There was a thread about German emigration east with many sources, I unforgettably just remember few basic ones.

That's just childish. Since Germany was the invader, yes UK would be justified in annexed anything it wanted, furthermore, most of Russia is still inhabitable, infertile and far, far colder than west Europe, so since it won the war, yes it's deserves to annex land which never belonged to Germans, rather than remained without own ports and in cold isolation.

I am talking about RSFSR, Riga is Latvian.

...

...

There were never any Tatars in Novorossiya, you are talking about Crimea. And yes, if people are afraid to live with colonizers, they should leave. If everyone is fine living together than, everything is fine.
Soviets receiving Prussia and Poles Silesia is not imperialism, it's war reparations, or is winning wars imperialism to now?

And again, I am talking about RSFRS and now whole of soviet union. As an example Lithuania to got a port and it's capital back.

We're not talking about somewhere that was terra nullius. The population was German and had been for many centuries. In order to make it not-German the people living there had to be forcibly expelled. The idea that territory should be brutally redistributed based on whether a country has its fair share of strategic ports is just insane.

yeah, but based on war experiences, in short succession and unknown intensity, sounds like a solid idea

In the circumstances of 1945 it is understandable that the USSR would impose a very harsh peace on Germany. But that's a totally different justification.

Bruv what, do you think the Crimean Khanate that took over after the collapse of the Golden Horde ruled over a load of Russians south of the Dnieper, in a region that was inhabited by tatars before Appanage Russia? No, Catherine the great conquered a load of tartars in the 1700s, expelled them and started the settlement of Novorossiya.
I mentioned Britain annexing a port for itself in the mainland out of an imperialist context, you said this was okay because "they won the war".
Why does the RSFSR "deserve" one, what about Belarus? Turkmenistan?. And again, that is not a justification for the removal or continued expulsion of the native inhabitants. Or are you gonna defend Palestinians being kicked out of their lands by Israel because Israel "won the war"?

In love, war and politics nothing is fair and everything is permitted. Nevertheless, comrades, what would you prefer Soviets would have done with East Germany after war?

Tatars lived in north Ukraine, the rest was inhabited by Balts and Slavs

Yes, they won the war and they need a warm water port.

Because RSFSR won a war, and majority of it is inhabitable and it doesn't has any warm water ports. Isolating RSFSR without ports in coldest part of Europe just to keep krautboos happy would be close to genocide.

Belarus and other republics had better climate, nevertheless, I support pan movements. In my opinion, in age of trillion dollar megacompanies Belarus should stay with Russia, Turkmenistan with other 'stans. This way there would be less geographic problems.

Poles and other people were scared that Germans would start war again, it was the only option. Anything else would threaten everyone else.

It should be mentioned that originally Stalin wanted to keep unified neutral Germany and give Prussia for Lithuania, however other parties refused that.

The USSR had plenty of warm water ports, it dosn’t matter if it’s in there because of RSFSR

It’s been Germany sense the 1300s, and the Germans from there are genticly indistinguable to the indigenous population.

Factually incorrect.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimean_Khanate
Lol fucking what? Having Koenigsburg not being annexed into the RSFSR would have been the same as genocide? Are you fucking high bruv?

Tbh this was one of the stupidest Soviet policies and was borderline imperialistic. It’s ridiculous to demand that proles pay the price for the actions of a fascist government which would kill them for resisting.

which wasn't the idea behind it, since collective guilt is a western doctrine
i also remember a letter by Ulbricht requesting an easing on the reperations, which was approved off

Expanding borders of USSR = expanding revolution.

This might not have been the most desirable outcome (note that Germany was expected to be reunited as SocDem-ish nation a-la Sweden; hence no proper DDR), but Soviets were still checked by Allies and were not ready for another war.

Moreover, having Kaliningrad as properly RSFSR territory permitted to concentrate firepower there instead of relying on other nations (which would not have looked good internationally).

Here's a report on the GDR by a US journalist: archive.org/details/PittmanGDR/page/n1
There's also this, but it's from the GDR itself so chances are it's 100% government propaganda: archive.org/details/HowDoPeopleLiveInTheGDR/page/n1

Still there’s no reason to deport the Germans living there.

Yes there is. the eternal German was a thread to peaceful people living there. Rights of people come before your feeeeeeels.

Can't tell if you're baiting. If allowed to stay the Germans of Kaliningrad would have made up about 1% of the USSR's population and would have posed zero threat, even if we accept this racist idea that Germans are inherently dangerous.

Final Solution of the German Question?

Explain your position properly.

I am not baiting, I just find your monoopinion on the matter annoying, having said that, while I support giving lands to Poland,Lithuania and Russia, I don't support massive expulsion, I think it was a step to far. Sure, there were collaborators and other scum, however they deserve gulag, rather than entire nation expelled.

That was part of international agreements. Much more Germans (and much harsher) were deported from other nations.
