tbh this thread could be decent
why has noone responded?
Anyway the Foro is just a place for Lula and the Brazilian social democrats at the Labour Party to have drinks, as you can see all the members besides Cuba are social democrats or "socialists in the 21st Century", I don;t think any cappies are behind this but it just hasn't done enough for socialism or has any coherent sceintific theory to matter that much, there is potential tho

Fixed the map OP

lol

A few of the parties in the Foro have received assistance from US NGOs. I don't know if that means capitalists are behind it.

As of now they're still just a radical socialdemocracy. Maduro needs to nationalize more of the economy and introduce some proper state-planning, maybe coupled with some self-managing elements. They're a nice beacon if anti-imperialism here in South America but they could be more.
Even less radical than Venezuela, they seem to be pretty anti-imperialist but also a bit too much chauvinist nationalism. Also Evo just seems to me as a pompous asshole who pretends to be a man of the people but still wears expensive af clothes and has a superiority complex
Didn't even know they had a leftist government currently, don't know anything about it though.
Haven't heard anything of AMLO since his victory. Hopefully he doesn't dissapoint.
Recently they became less leftwing with that whole president change. They also want to give Assange back to the US, which isn't based at all.
I genuinely believe that of all "socialist" countries in the world, Cuba, alongside the DPRK have the best chances of implementing proper socialism. They just need to start implementing a cybernetic planned economy, that would be fantastic.
Honestly kinda "literally who" tier, I mean a couple of months back that whole student repression thing happened, but Ortega doesn't seem that much of /ourguy/, he could be a hell of a lot more leftwing.

The President of Uruguay drives a shitty old car and made weed legal.

That was Pepe Mujica, he's a former president.

Fugg.

you can’t make this shit up

I don't think he's in office yet, not until late November.

Nigga it isn't that uncommon of a name here in Latin America.

fuck off, this "leftist forum" is a joke.
the only socialist party in Argentina is the Workers' Left Front and they never get any significant votes at all because there's no fucking class consciousness in this retarded country.

no wonder che left

Hey mate, something that always interested me, in Argentina is peronism seen as more leftwing or rightwing? Are most peronists anticommunists? Is "leftwing" peronism any good? What is your opinion on the monteneros?

it's really odd when foreigners just call him "che"

here's the thing, when I said proto fascist, I actually meant it.
they advocate mixed economy, but the way they win over the masses is by using leftist rhetoric, they unironically use the word "comrade" to refer to each other (just peronists) and they call themselves "leftists", they use imagery of Che Guevara and praise him constantly when they aren't even close to being socialists.
since most people are retarded, they do consider Peronism to be a left wing ideology, but us socialists hate them, since we see them for what they really are, they're all businessment, all burgeois pigs that own means of production and exploit workers, and they are using the masses to gain power and benefit only themselves like the Nazis did to the original German Worker's party.
they established """obligatory""" unions that are nothing other than bureaucratic hells alligned with capitalist interests.
it's essentially bread and circusses so that they can go on with their rampant corruption and exploitation.
I think some actual socialists tried to infiltrate Peronism since it's the most powerful ideology here, with no success though, so "leftwing peronism" is non existent.
mislead workers that ended up becoming the footsoldiers of the proto fascists.
false consciousness and whatnot.

if you tell me where you're from I might be able to draw parallels with an ideology from your country for clarification, but I think Peronism is so retardedly unique it'd be impossible.

I'm chilean but lol yeah it seems peronism is retardedly unique from what I can tell.

I think that is more a SocDem to chat with other socdem, the parties from Peru are examples of that:
Peruvian Nationalist Party: In 2006 it was pretty leftwing(chavez style). In 2011 won by being Lula style(and because Keiko fujimori was the competitor). Now the Humalas are in jail and the party is non-existant.
The Peruvian communist Party: Which one? PCP Union? PCP Patria roja? Or the sacos (just kidding they arein Movadef or in the VRAEM
Socialist Party of Peru:Well, they managed to put a congressmen in parlament now and Javier Diez Canseco was a great guy.

People just call him che cuz Angloids like me can't say his full name right

Whatever happened to the Shining Path?

Peronism is pretty odd,
Welp, Guzman & Friends formed two or three movements to bring SP to legality (movadef and fudepp) and both were rejected by the electoral authorities.
