Eh, the board wasn't "appropriated", there definitely was an uptick in MLs for a while but the presence of them was just magnified by the R o j a v a drama since the majority of posters who left weren't ML. After that I guess there would have been more incentive for MLs to post here compared to other places but there were still a ton of them on Zig Forums. Now I'd say there are roughly the same amount of MLs but then people of other tendencies have come back now BO has stopped being a spastic and Zig Forums has become completely unusable

I don't see why it makes a difference either way, Yezhov was head of Stalin's NKVD; whether there exists a photo taken of them together is immaterial to the fact that Stalin was directly responsible for hiring and overseeing him.

The entire r o j a v a debacle is what led to wordfilters and the split when BO was too heavy handed in suppressing Zionist & Imperialist apologists on here in the wake of increasing US presence in the region, and whilst as time has gone on it seems as though BO was /right/ about r o j a v a, there was a lot of collateral damage at the time with many posters becoming increasingly angry at suppression of discussion, complaints over bans and other such things. A rogue mod pulled some kind of bullshit which led to the split, forming Zig Forums. Initially Zig Forums wasn't too bad, and in hindsight I think it was a neccessary cooling off period but as usual, split boards face all kinds of issues (for example, the resident 8ch pedos immediately attemped to slide Zig Forums) and due to a poor moderation approach the board increasingly became a breeding ground for all kinds of annoying faggots like Zionists, Imperialists, Radlibs, Unironic Nazbols, Radfems, Vegans etc. Then when some things were reconciled back on Zig Forums over the last few months users gradually began trickling back and now all you really have on Zig Forums is unmoderated aids. It's only going to get worse as well because they gave board ownership to Space who is even more handsoff than the previous team.
Bear in mind being an imperialist apologist to BO also goes up to and including attempting to get military personnel on side (including people who haven't been in the military for years) and making legitimate constructive criticism of countries with nominally socialist governments like Venezuela.

Yeah I worded that badly, what I meant was that it extended beyond banning those scumbags, who should always be removed, to an increasingly more liberal interpretation of their own ruleset leading to banning people who didn't really deserve bans, which is retarded since bans literally don't do anything yet they were basically used to end arguments instead of posting or not replying. Personally I don't give a shit about people getting banned but the use of the ban is more a statement than the actual enforcement of rules in a community at a certain point. You can find plenty of evidence of people whining about their deserved bans over on Zig Forums in their cyclical thread though if you want to see the kind of fags who do invoke the hammer.
