Whats with the recent resurgence of christfaggotry among the left? All the weird Democrat Cops of America types think religion is woke now because of liberation theology or "Jesus was communist" shit.

has to do with the general resurgance of socialism

It's just a thing of extremely online autists as far as I'm concerned. Leftism is still overwhelmingly secular.

It's impossible to be a socialist without being in the tradition of Pauline Christianity.

It was the doctrine of Christ via Paul which liberated the world from the tyranny of [[[them]]] and their tribalism and ethnocentricism; this is why Paul's epistles condemned the Jews for their anti-universalism and hatred of goyim. Christianity is also the root of Hegel.(USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST)

The Ladder I think can be explained by people breaking the conditioning of the bullshit Protestantism and went back to read what Jesus actually said. Then interrupted as pseudo-Socialism which is understandable as Jesus of Nazarith was a pretty Radical Jewish man for his time which ultimately got him killed in the long run.

But that is just how I see it. Though Religion is pretty spooky and only alleviates the pain of crushing Capitalism on their shoulders. Which is why it was seen as the opiate of the masses in Marx's eyes. pics related

Next stage of neoliberalism= left becoming explicitly religious to justify open borders + UBI while keeping the capitalist mode of production in place.

Sorry, I should say "left-liberals"

Speaking as a Southerner, churches are some of the only communal places where you can gather without having to pay out the ass. This can foster a sense of gratitude towards the churches that let us use their space, and thus be light on religion if not try to justify it possibly being an ally.

Pure idpol. Race to see who can have the most labels on their twitter/tumblr sidebar. The more you have the woker you are. Black Autistic Lesbian MTF Catholic Maoist-Third-Worldist Furry.

Meanwhile christcoms on Zig Forums are just recently converted Zig Forums larpers who can't stop jacking off to le epic cathedrals and/or are too brainfucked by epic fedora memes. Except the America-hating one, he's cool.

There is literally nothing wrong with being Jewish, religiously or culturally.

Black churches in particular have been central to Black communities and social moments. Even atheist black Communists like DuBois and Paul Robeson understood how important they were.

White churches are another matter however. The "progressive" ones like episcopalians are thoroughly middle class and have no horizon beyond middle class liberalism. The working class denominations like Pentecostals tend to be very conservative and totally deemphasize the social in favor of the "spiritual" (i.e. the traditional leftist critique of religion)

Still, I think it would be a bad idea to take a militant atheist stance, considering the importance and potential of the black working class (and of areas like Appalachia). Religion is nothing if not malleable as a social force.

Because Atheism has been effectively re-stigmatized in the US with the rise of Zig Forums. 4chan was pretty much the only atheist place on the internet before then.

Lol no almost every site was. Remember /r/atheism?

Atheism was cool when Bush was president because of all the christfaggotry. They lost (though Pence is waiting in the wings), so you're not fighting anyone powerful by being one anymore. Also Dawkins, Harris and the like turned out to be huge assholes who should have never been introduced to twitter.

I'm an atheist but I don't see much point in fighting it anymore. The US's only left wing movements worth talking about were church based (populists, William Jennings Bryant, MLK, etc.)

New Atheism was a chauvinist liberal movement that was powered mostly by disenfranchised non-het people (and edgy teens of course.) That's why they went hard right (or at least stopped pretending to be left) to stay relevant during the Obama era. Even the edgelords started defecting to tradshit.

We are approaching dialectical materialism so advanced, it is indistinguishable from idealism.

It is simply another cultural battle ground between the right and left. As a person who actually grew up catholic, went to Sunday school, did my Communion, i can tell you. God isnt real and when we die the synapses in our brains rot away with our body and we cease to exist.
There is a battle that has gone on in the catholic church in particular between what are termed "liberal modernists", and "traditionalists". So basically, the closest thing you are going to get to a left wing and right wing in religion.
The left in america in particular have always tried to reconcile themselves with Christianity, from MLK, to jonestown. I mean have you actually read the bible, Jesus did not like rich people.
Most of the "bad" stuff like hating gays and violence and shit like that came from the old testmant or paul. Jesus never said anything about gay people.

hegel was actually very deeply into the occult

lelno, they paid lip service to gay issues but not much else. it was always a thinly veiled neoconservative movement

Internet atheism always had wildly unscientific, idealist, and reactionary views. For instance, it was/is very common for atheists to argue that war in the middle east was "caused by religion."
When it comes to atheism, go Marxist or go home.

Well, aside from believing in stuff that isn't true.

Socdem is basically Lutheran without God.
