I have always been left-leaning since I started caring about politics because my mom was a hard-working single parent earning minimum wage and life was hard for us.
I remember scoffing at the idea of the "invisible hand" during my basic economics classes in high school. When I read the chapter about M-C-M' of Capital a couple of years later, it made total sense to me still have to read the rest of it though. After reading Debord, I realized you can be a Marxist without being a ML and stopped believing in crypto-liberals.

Then I became a slimy succdem for 8 or 9 years, before realizing that our species is on a train-ride towards self-destruction and that the train is called capitalism. I was young and it was my first election I thought that we lived in a democracy and if we got a reeeealy liberal president they could make a positive material impact. Or are you saying a 'real' anarchist today wont even vote Bernie for damage control?

I was a generic Democrat (when I was like 9 to like 14/15) then a right "Libertarian" who was a registered Republican until I was like 24/25 and became a generic socialist around 2015. Last election I was interested in Gloria La Riva of the PSL (party for socialism and liberation) and then became a Bernie supporter and saw him as really the only viable option in the race. Would anyone like to propose a more viable option than bernie in the 2020 rat race, without saying “don’t vote” as an option? I’m genuinely curious. Voting green or libertarian doesn’t seem like a viable option either. Bernie seems like the most likely to be able to give us a stable transition into the next stage of development, that being socialism. Thanks in advance, I’ll be sure to not vote and kill myself.

My first political stance beyond 'technocratic enlightened despotism lmao' was unironic jacobinism, fervent anti-aristo sentiment and the idea of the universal republic founded on liberty and virtue as well as the necessity of revolutionary terror really struck a chord with me and are still foundational to my politics. But liberal is such a subjective term and as hijacked as the word progressive, I need to know what it means to you before commenting to be real. I thought communism was mass execution and death due to brainwashing in the burger school system and thinking that leftists want to destroy American freedom or some shit. My values were always about self-preservation and self-defense. I felt that every person had the right to self-determination regardless of skin tone or "race". I was originally a libertarian that gradually became more and more nationalistic (aka fascist) as I descended into esoteric philosophy about the nature of man. Read a bunch of Nietzsche and Evola. Natural selection and ubermensch shit basically. I believed that a revitalization of our values was necessary to progress us away from the decadence that is modern day America. I use to listen to the Penn Gillette podcast on my ipod classic when I was 13-14. This was more an atheist stage than an ancap stage. But some of his libertardian nonsense damaged my brain. These ideas went unchalleneged on this show so it seemed more common sense and anti government than any fundemantal theoretical understanding of scientific / geopolitical / economics / philosophical aspects. I moved more left as part of my unconscious class-consciousness as it was in my class interest. Wasn't until I read some medical related health outcomes of class stratification that I was attracted to marx and from there it has been a fun ride into my own realisation that because of this systemic violence and other atrociticies perpetuated against working class people that I will have a considerable harsher existence in life than neccisarry. What I've found so far is that the a lot of the foundations of our beliefs are fundamentally different and I see little way people from either group could change their alignment. I started my interest in politics as a commie 14Yo, but I won't really count that. For example I see no way I'd ever just drop the blood attatchment I have to my people and the cultural attatchment I share with my nation, no matter how "spooky".
