Was too lazy to clarify, but I meant how many leftists on here (and in real-life) make an absolute metaphysical principle out of materialism, even going as far to believe it should be enforced throughout society because it would be so awfully bad if some people still preferred to hold onto religious or idealist values. Sure, materialism in itself is a decent and effective hypothesis but putting it on a pedestal or proclaiming it as the one immortal truth is dogmatism which IMO can kill the revolutionary impulse.
