Well? Are they right?

Well? Are they right?

I personally believe they are correct, in part, that people have substituted pop culture into their lives as a spiritual belief in place of traditional organized religion. They are, of course, implying that this is a good thing, which is wrong on many levels.

What do they mean by Jesus of a new generation?
Harry is a worthless "savior" even in the insane SJW's worldview.

delet this thread

Old fad, nobody even talks about Harry Potter anymore. Vice is always trying to find some way to stay relevant.

I think sportsball would top pop culture as a surrogate religion, but only marginally so.

It's times like this that I really really really wish that God hadn't promised Noah not to flood the earth again.

That would explain why the Goblins are kikes

Not, Christ, but maybe Muhammad.
I once saw someone liken Rowlings' twitter feed to being the Hadith to Harry Potter's Qur'an which I can't unsee anymore.

Will modernist stupidity never end?
How vain, materialistic, and shallow-minded do you have to be to compare fictional works to scripture of any kind?

Who needs a cosmic water cannon when you've got a cosmic flamethrower?

I think it was more of a cynical dig than an genuine comparison.

And let's not kid ourselves, there is very much a fanaticism about this, and Shit Wars too.
The whole meme about ">explaining complex sociopolitical matters with references from Harry Potter and Star Wars" didn't just emerge from nowhere.
It's pop-culture urbanite bugman religion.

I missed the old Vice, before they became another (((news))) outlet for the (((machine))). Old Vice had some decent documentaries.

Precisely, it's like they recognize the necessity of God and religion but would rather attempt to replace Them with the garbage their corporate overlords feed them instead of actually following a legitimate spiritual path. It drives me mad.

with stuff like this I'm starting to think that maybe the inquisition had a reason to exist.

I hate, HATE that word used in news context. It reeks of kikery.
Also, Rowling is a disgusting whore.

I remember when they did things that were verboten [like sneaking into North Korea ]. Things that people actually want.

I used to like these books once, until I grew up and realized exactly what kind of politics they were doing their best to shove into kids' heads. Now I can't read them without eternally sympathizing with Voldemort.

Wew, it sounds like some shitposter took over her account and is just making trivial crap up

Fiction like mythology can be used to express those narratives and themes that speak to the religious needs of the audience, resonating with those concepts that God in His wisdom built into our hearts in the moment of our creation so that we might recognize the Gospel when it is made manifest in our lives. This resonance can either serve to prepare and instruct the audience toward a greater and perhaps deeper understanding of the true faith, or lead them astray into the abyss. Harry Potter bluntly yet thoroughly accomplishes the latter.

What kind of idiot takes "HOGWARTS" "DUMBLEDORE" and all the other childish names in Harry Potter seriously

leftists

This.

I think you're right about pop culture (including pop science) becoming many people's substitue for God but I think the Harry Potter thing is a little off-base. I work with a few over-thirty, unmarried women who still get all giddy over Harry Potter but I think the younger kids are interested in whatever is current be it super heroes or star wars or whatever. I'm sure whoever wrote that article is some unhappy, unmarried, childless woman just like the women I was talking about. Now they have the extra burden of being outdated on top of everything else.

I was gonna say that the promise not to flood the world again was more or less a promise to incinerate it.

Really? Seems to me sportsball is dying, at least somewhat. Then again, I'm so out of touch with normie thought and activities.

Lol VICE is garbage for wannabes. Isnt Harry Potter heavily inspired by Christ? He takes a part of Valdemort (satan) to conquer him ultimately (sacrifices part of himself)

Goblins actually came from caricatures of jews

Funny, I just watched conference of an exorcist and at the Q&A session Harry Potter was bringing up. There are many empirical reason to believe it but his personal one was most convincing imho - such garbage literature couldn't make billions without demonic help.

People love to feel edgy for poking fun of christians.

I'm pretty sure everything after the first two is fake.

Sportsball was only a shunt for suppressed tribal culture. Socialism/capitalism is the shunt for suppressed belief. By controlling how it's allowed to be expressed it's twisted towards material ends. At least in the US, what we face is Idolatry on an enormous scale.
