Nasa's Opportunity rover may be dead on Mars, engineers fear.
The little faithful robot has been travelling over the planet for the last 15 years, but has lost contact with its masters on Earth. They fear that the rover might never wake back up(dead), and his mission could come to an end.
Opportunity ran into problems in recent days when a Martian storm that is covering a quarter of the planet swept over the rover. That blotted out the Sun's light, leaving him unable to charge its batteries and he never phoned home.
Engineers don't expect the storm to clear and the batteries to charge for at least the next few days.
Rover has already defied expectations: he was initially scheduled for a 90-day mission, though Nasa's projects often run much longer than expected. And he has survived such a storm before, undergoing a much bigger storm in 2007, which knocked out the rover's power and left him without a connection for several days.
yea no, there's a been a few times it's almost been dead like when it first landed it got stuck in a sand dune for a long time then had its robot arm fuck up for a while after that then started having problems writing data because it was starting to get up in age and had to be set to save only into RAM

Hope you're not expecting a mainstream news article stating "Mars rover is fake - filmed on Earth"? Because such a thing will not be forthcoming. Why wouldn't it? We actually use dust to polish and clean surfaces in industry all the time. Sand blasting is a thing. Mars has winds that would strip naked flesh to the bone. It's not far fetched at all. The issue at stake here isn't the dust it's the lack of light getting to the solar panels through the sheer amount of atmospheric interference caused by the dust storm. It's blotting out the sun. The rover is probably quite fine structurally.

Here, let me go through a list of reasons off the top of my head why flat earth is bullshit.
1. No gravitational point charge asymptote at the north pole, as would be predicted if the earth was a disc or disclike shape. 2. Euclidean geometry breaks down hard when you plot long distances across the earth's surface. Elliptical geometry (geometry plotted on an ellipsoid), however, works just fine. 3. The antarctic ice wall idea despite none of the explorers and cartographers of Antarctica finding anything of the sort. 4. The idea that every nation on earth is conspiring to lie about the above 3 things just to spite flat-earthers.
