I am a Christian first and politically I am a socialist. Are these positions reconcilable? A lot of people here seem to think not, but I think this may come from a conflation of socialism with neoliberalism/etc. I cannot condone the crimes of the Soviet Union, but I believe that capitalism has done terribly worse… When you reply please tell in exactly what way they conflict.

Because socialism is bad, and you should feel bad also, Karl Marx is a satanic jew

Are you a Christian with your all? That is the question. When you see problems in the world, do you see capitalism (or whatever systems you're against), or did you see sin? When you think of solutions for man, do you think of Christ, or implementing your preferred polices? What's your angle in activism? Evangelism? Or debate and protest (against systems and policies you don't like)? Do you think about the things of God or the things of man? Do you pray without ceasing? Do you rejoice in all things? It doesn't look like you do. You seem to think that some things aren't worth rejoicing in, or certain situations and policies that affect your life.

Resolve these things, then think about "reconciling." I'm an entirely apolitical Christian, and I'm not gonna say all have to be, but if something takes away a second from my devotion to the Lord, and a second of my emotion for the things of the Lord (I reserve anger for sins, sadness for sins, joy for spiritual things, etc. Anything else I refuse to give energy to), then I'd question it.

Yes, we all know that Marx was a militant ath*ist… I can also call those that create endless unjust wars for profit "satanic jews"

Good answer… I think that capitalism is a large-scale manifestation of sin… and to be honest I don't believe that any man to solve these things than to change his ways. You gave me some things to think about…

You ain't alone on here mang. I'm a Christian Leftist too. Half the reason my assistant pastor loves me so much is cause we agree on where the church has gone in regards to money. Which is to say, straight outta the grace of God.

Back to where you came from.

Pathetic.

If you’re a Christian you would be monarchist because heaven is a kingdom so burn in hell Zig Forums filth

Your kind has lost

I guess i see what youre trying to say…? But God's kingdom is perfectly just, the ones on earth aren't…

can you please argue in good faith? you're a "cultural christian" right…

Go away

Nah, I think I'm good right where I am. God be with you all though.

Yes, you can be a Christian socialist. Just not a Marxist, for obvious reasons. Capitalism inherently isn't sinful, like any economic system, but humanity has a way of screwing things up.

Go away.
Just go away.

This event in Genesis resembles serfdom and the private ownership of property. Taxation is also not socialism or communism.

This thread has become a mess.

Please use the Zig Forumspol thread for further political discussion, it's there for a reason: 8ch.net/christian/res/508486.html
