I'm actually EXTREMELY familiar with the mindset and personality type (or lack of personality) of today's 'robot' computer dorks….

I was NOT a programmer type, but I was welcomed with open arms by a large group of hardcore computer geek 'robots', shut-ins, isolated programmers, hackers (even though they would NEVER call themselves 'hackers', because that seemed to be a term they all cringed over)

I would be invited to what I believe you guys may call 'LAN parties', where several of these shut-in guys would all go to one of their condos, and there would be 7 or 8 terminals, all linked or 'networked' together, and we would all sit and interact linked together, or not interact, listening to trance music as they played videogames together and I'd be working on creative projects…

I got to know these geeks very very well

I'm super familiar with their idiosyncrasies and self-imposed limitations, almost all of them brought about with the decision to isolate and replace real social interaction with computer-based virtuality…..

these guys are still friends of mine.

they were just as fascinated by my artistic knowledge as I was with their coding knowledge….

interesting 100% TRUE story:

they were all friends from their youths, and they started up a 'little business venture' when they were 19 or 20, where they were creating fake identities and fake bank accounts, then they had people go into the banks and withdraw large sums of money.

I've heard the story many times, and I can't remember all of the details right now, but if they were here they would refresh my memory and the story is actually quite fascinating…..

but they eventually got caught. they were arrested.

the FBI field office in Atlanta approached them in jail, and offered them a deal, dropping charges in exchange for teaching the FBI how they did it, and help train them…

(obviously, this took place a long time ago in the early days)

but yeah………

I just made a 1000 bucks by scanning my neighbors 10,000 old family pics
and I make more editing her and her friends kids hockey games and putting them on dvds or HDs or the net.

I love music
I use my portable apps to pirate, edit, convert,extract music form many sources.
I use my PC to cast to my tv to watch videos and listen to music (I watch a lot of diy vids to)

I have a dish on my roof similar to the one in the pic, that rotates(old tv antena rotator) that I use to download torrented videos
I change my mac address and pc name frequently( I have a credit card printer and uy stolen #s off the dark we)

So i get a lot of use out of the ol PC
