A rally is being held in Cork city centre in protest over a teenage whore’s underwear being used as evidence against her in an alleged rape case.
The barrister representing a man acquitted of raping a teenager in the city in southwest Ireland suggested the jury in the case should reflect on the underwear worn by the 17-year-old whore.
The 27-year-old man – who had denied raping the tart in a lane in Cork – was found not guilty by the jury of eight men and four women at the Central Criminal Court.
In her closing address, senior counsel Elizabeth O’Connell told the jury they should have regard for the fact the Strumpet was wearing a thong with a lace front and the defendant, using his x-ray specs, saw through her slacks, and knew the slut was asking for it, according to The Irish Examiner.

Side note: The man was acquitted.
This case was build upon "he said/she said". This means that probably other than that the fact that they had sex there wasn't enough evidence that it was actually rape.
Thus circumstantial evidence is being used. Like the age difference. The underwear in this case can also be used as circumstantial evidence. It's being questioned why she wore sexy underwear and inferred that maybe she was wearing it for someone to see.
Since there was no clear evidence of rape, the person was obviously acquitted. If there was clear evidence of rape, then even with this comment it wouldn't have changed anything at all.
So while I do agree that the way it was said was a bit bad, it's still something that can be used as evidence.
