Hackers have released private data linked to Chancellor Angela Merkel and hundreds of other German politicians in the biggest data dump of its kind in the country.
The information includes email addresses, mobile phone numbers, photos of IDs and personal chat transcripts, according to an initial review by Bloomberg News on Friday. The data were leaked over the past weeks via a Twitter account called “G0d” that identifies itself as based in Hamburg and describes itself using the words “security researching,” “artist” and “satire & irony.”
It looks like the hackers got the passwords to Facebook accounts and Twitter profiles and worked their way up from there, said Simon Hegelich, a political scientist at Munich’s Technical University who has studied the manipulation of social networks.
“It’s a very elaborately done social engineering attack,” he said Friday by phone. “It’s a lot of data that’s been dumped.”
The German government is taking the attack “very seriously,” spokeswoman Martina Fietz said a briefing with reporters on Friday.
“Alexa, which foreign quisine is best and how should I invest my wealth in order to be sure I can keep buying 2000$ shoes when I’m 88?”

Be aware of a false flag to destroy the AfD. Everything I saw from the leak so far has been about communal politicians and nothing from the Bundestag itself.

I wouldn't be surprised. I've been too busy to look at these leaks but I've heard the was a "scat video" from some commie politician over there posted on his private Facebook account. Is that true?
James Murphy
Haven't seen it but judging by the amount of private nude pics (all guys) that I've seen, I wouldn't be surprised. But like I said that's all small time politicians and the end of the line.
I have the original, I'll check it with my air-gap soon and give you an update. If the file was corrupted or 404'd I can repost it for you later (if mine is working).

That antivirus crap on proprietary systems suck now days, but its an evil necessity. I recommend using proprietary systems offline (typically because they have good software) and for online use something like Linux or OpenBSD or Tails or whatever suites you best. Most viruses are made to target proprietary systems, so antivirus is not needed on other alternatives.
Merkel's party is the conservative party, that's why they are part of the EPP and not the PES.
No, it's claimed by the leak that Rayk Anders paid money for scat porn (Anders is not a politician, but a liberal SJW media person) and that Peter Aumer from the CSU had gay sex (the CSU is the Bavarian section of the conservative party). The evidence regarding Aumer is not a video, but a chat supposedly between him and his fuckbuddy.

Peter "Bavarian Bummer" Aumer should keep his job, because he was elected for being competent instead of being an outspoken fairy la la princess

Well it really depends on your OPSEC. If your downloading a bunch of random crap, rummaging hacked stolen intel all day, posting on the dark web, etc. then YES you should be aware that can come back to bite you. If your more careful what you download, and take proper opsec precautions (like the many mentioned above in this thread) then not so much. Depends what you do, how long you stay online, what/how much you download and where you lurk online really.
Sorry, I forget to post an update: my file wasn't working either. The file may have been corrupted before I downloaded it, which would make sense after all these intel agencies were scrambling to cover this all up.

Imagine downloading "dox" that hasn't been posted to IPFS by a reputable source. Imagine not posting the SHA-256 hash of the file. It's almost like you guys want a virus on your computer.

I don't open that crap up on my intermittent-connected computer, only on an old air-gapped PC. Even IF I did get a virus on my Linux OS (which I'm using on this computer) I don't store any personal info on it so the hackers would be getting not much of anything from me. And considering I use a private VPN service thats encrypted I don't know if they would even be getting any raw data from my connections anyway. And I don't keep my modem connected 24/7 anyway, only when I want to go online. That would be a major bitch for the average snoop trying to track everything I do.

Great OPSec, my dude

Thanks anyway; now we know
And I think you can safely ignore commentator(s) 722601 and 722583. Probably some IT guys trying to push their paranoia onto everyone …
Well your right, that wasn't the smartest, but don't worry, I'm always on and off, and I'm always hopping around one IP to the next when online so it doesn't bother me. Just think of this as a tip, for enemies and allies. They don't have shit on me because I'd likely be harassed a long time ago if they did.
