Why is r/Christianity so liberal?

I've been browsing it for a few weeks and it's more like a left wing political hug box than a place to discuss Christianity. They actually downvote standard Christian doctrine like homosexuality being a sin

What else did you expect from Reddit? Don't go there, don't waste your time.

Because that is what reddit is first and foremost, a left wing circle jerk.
There are some pockets, like r/truechristian, but since reddit is open to all users even their threads get taken by atheists, liberals etc.
It reminds of Christ’s words “ye shall not be the slave of two masters, for you will grow to love one and hate the other”, by mixing in liberalism and Christianity Redditors start to serve liberalism first and Christianity second.

I left there when I saw someone with a flair that said "Methodist, Trans, Lesbian" criticizing someone that said homosexuality was wrong. They got the top voted comment too.

just why? you may stay on 8ch

Because it's democratic. Prove me wrong.

Pro-tip: you can't

/r/catholicism is slightly better, but there seems to be an ongoing struggle there as one of the mods is…lost.

/r/traditionalcatholics is small but legit

Women

Same thing, really.

Which mod is it, and how are they lost? (Not that I disagree with you, it's too liberal there for me too, but at least it's okay.. but pretty bad at times). There are still unchecked comments of people promoting Islam, actually denigrating Catholicism (just to promote Islam), saying Mohammed did nothing wrong etc. I usually go all out on those threads, I have far too many references and knowledge about that idiotic cult to let it go unchecked. In fact one thread was brigaded by Mohammedans (apparently they lurk and brigade threads).

Who is the mod though, I'm curious. But yeah in general reddit is a cesspool, even the few "good" places. I try not to browse there too much, because you see soo much nonsense and I feel obligated to try and at least reply somewhat, but it's taxing. Lots of atheist trolls too, who pretend that they are Catholic, and make up posts saying "we should pray for this, God help us, mother church" blah blah, but are straight up atheists and concern trolls, and post in r/atheism saying they're so excited that the church is losing power and that no one is going for mass etc. Disgusting people and mods won't ban them.

Also on this note, I'm sick that left-wing commies will organize online and do a lot of work, but conservatives and traditionals will never do any work these days. This is a far cry from the Saints of past where they would not just pray but do actual real work to evangelize, fight heresy and so on. Now if you suggest people to do some work they're like, oh it's a lost cause, oh just pray, oh blah blah. I'm waiting to find a group of people who want to organize and do some actual work. We need to control parts of the internet, we can't just let fag LGBTLiberals take over everything. People are extremely impressionable. We look like total pushovers.

...

Basically, conservative boards tend to ban bad doctrine and blasphemy.

Banning for that dissuades libs and atheists from posting, amd so the communities become largely conservative, meaning conservatives get all the upvotes.

/r/christianity doesnt do this (probably because most of their mods are liberals and atheists), and so libs and atheists stick around. Because they stick around, they gain the majority vote because theyre the majority in culture writ large.

Tldr the mods dont ban for posting antichristian opinions because theyre liberals themselves.

This is a copy pasta I've seen it before.

That's pretty interesting actually, since it doesn't reflect reality. It sounds like Mainline Protestantism… but that's the fastest dying wing of Christianity (back in the day, it ruled the American landscape, but conservatives broke off around the 40s/50s).

because cathodox's don't like to hang out with protestant shitters, which i'm sure run that board.

They let Talmudists and atheists moderate the board, what did you expect?

That's why p*pists censor this place too huh

Zig Forums is the exact same but right wing. Make a thread about why there is no space for racism in Christianity and boom "reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee you want my race to die out by inbreeding."
Honestly, you can just shift through the crap to find what you like.

It's not specifically a Christian board. It's simply a board for the discussion of Christianity. The /r/atheism stain is still strong there and most humanist/atheist posts end up as the top upvoted posts.

This is a meme they like to proffer over there, but per their community policy, it specifically is a place for christians.

The issue is that they have a fairly liberal mod team and it makes the place low hanging for atheists and degenerates. Because its low hanging, people like thar accumulate and thus take over the voting.

Hmm you are right; I just read their community policy in more detail. Most annoying.

However, there is /r/truechristians or whatever it is called where it's a bit better. /r/christianity seems to just be liberals high fiving each other. They also seem to have a very unhealthy hatred of white evangelicals, they are obsessed.

There's one guy in particular who literally does nothing but post left wing political articles which are either character assassination of Evangelicals or have almost nothing to do with Christianity beyond some vague "Jesus said be charitable therefore you should support socialism" stuff. It's really annoying.

You mean this guy?

reddit.com/user/dont_tread_on_dc

Nope, this guy

old.reddit.com/user/sl150/posts/

Oh how the decline of the Anglican high church has led to these embarrassments… I bet his priest is a LGBT woman (saying such would get me heavily downvoted and banned on /r/christianity of course…)

I don't understand how people who so blatantly subordinate their faith to their political views can have the gall to call themselves Christians.

there more libertarian if any thing most of reddit hates the left and right

It's reddit what did you expect? btw r/Catholicism is good you don't mind 25-35 year old boomer posting

...

I know several 30+ people who browse here

Are you the troll that goes to good threads and tries to shut them down? Kindly piss off sir.

old.reddit.com/r/Christianity/comments/a54ms2/a_minor_update_to_the_community_policy_meta/

It gets even more cucked

Imagine being an atheist and spending your time moderating a christian forum. I just don't understand it.

Because they don't believe the Bible is infallible. They have one foot in the world, and another foot in Christianity.

I miss when Zig Forums had a decent news board. Have to rely on those few small good boards you mentioned for news now in my country. I hate it, but there's nothing that can be done about it.

That's because when the more normie types do organize, the left brigades them, gets the banned, posts filtered, shadow banned, etc. They'll also dox everyone they can, job lynch mob them, and so on and so forth. It's not like times past where you could still survive by drifting from place to place. You get marked by these people online, they'll follow you everywhere you go.

They also banded together and helped each other with the struggle of survival. I don't know how many times I've seen one individual stand up to heresy only for Christian's to say "Oh well, you know, I wish them luck".

Adding in to
Because we have jobs to work and families to provide for. We don't have time to march in streets and burn things down.

Because it is not a forum for Christians but rather a forum about Christianity.

fpbp

tbh, that's what happens with democracy. Do you think Church fathers and other patriarchs asked the local plebs what they thought about christianity? about whether x should be a sin?
If you let the 'people' define things, then nothing will be sinful and that way, nobody will have anything to repent for

Uhhhh

It's reductio ad alt-rightum.

r/Christianity are a bunch of abortion and fag enablers. That is much worse than muh racism.

I’m siding with the ebil raycists on this one. Hurting fee fees is bad, but murdering babies is 1bajillion times worse.

Every time I check that place it gets worse

It's the typical left-wing mindset. They want to control and/or destroy anything that goes against their degenerate lifestyle and beliefs.

You’re the real liberal

Anime is Christian

A user just got permabanned for this comment.

Old post but they are a mod

I remember r/Christianity on Christmas last year put a picture of a black Jesus. Not that that is offensive but they put it there to be redditors faggots.

Liberalism is the direct consequence of the Protestant Reformation.

Sounds liberal to me??

Why even try user?

Because its moderators and users are limpwristed idiots who believe that not offending people's personal opinions is a greater good than discerning the objective truth. You will find no serious Christian – whatever their denomination – on r/christianity, only children toying with positive emotions for fun.

Lmao ok prove this one

The absolute core of the entire denomination even to the name relies on Protesting, rebelling against authority and changing long standing institutions like the Church to suit your own and your times' needs.

While saying Liberalism is a direct consequence might be a tad too much but there are plenty of analogues between the two let's not pretend Liberalism is an alien concept to the Protestan Reformation.

What does "Reformation" mean

Some interesting posts in there. Seems like the subreddit has been completely hijacked by the atheist mod, brucemo and that he's essentially running it as a dictatorship. Basically explains all the left wing cuckery and the other mods are running interference for him by claiming that brucemo is actually the most conservative mod.

His enemies all die… they have no hope

anime is a cutesy heart-warming distraction, lets face it is far better than most western media. Give me cute girls over our shit any day… anime also has little in the way of degenerate subject matter (unless you watch degenerate anime ofc)

suicide or apostasy

Just… why?
