Corporate Media: 2,202 Minutes on Muh Russia Hyperbole, ZERO for Congressional No Collusion Report

Total bias, kicked into overdrive.

It’s been two days since NBC’s exclusive reporting that the Senate Intelligence Committee has found no material evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, and as of yet none of the three major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) have given it even a single second of coverage in their evening newscasts. Considering these networks have given the Russia probe a massive 2,202 minutes of airtime, their silence on this major development is deafening.

MRC analysts examining all coverage on ABC’s World News Tonight, the CBS Evening News, and the NBC Nightly News found that those 2,202 minutes spent on the Russia investigation accounted for nearly 19 percent of all Trump-related reporting between January 21, 2017 and February 10, 2019. However none of those three shows have even mentioned the investigation since NBC’s report came out on February 12.

The situation has been much the same on those networks’ flagship morning shows. Neither CBS This Morning nor NBC’s Today have even acknowledged this new information from Senate investigators since the news broke on February 12. ABC’s Good Morning America briefly touched on it in a news brief totaling less than one minute on February 13.

In that segment, ABC’s Mary Bruce focused only on the public disagreement between Republican Chairman Richard Burr and Democratic Ranking Member Mark Warner. She failed to acknowledge NBC’s reporting that other Democrats on the Committee had agreed with Burr’s finding that thus far, they had found no direct evidence of collusion.

NBC’s failure to mention this on either Today or the Nightly News is especially egregious, since the story was broken by the network’s own Ken Dilanian on February 12. He wrote:

After two years and 200 interviews, the Senate Intelligence committee is approaching the end of its investigation into the 2016 election, having uncovered no direct evidence of a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia, according to both Democrats and Republicans on the committee.

While Dilanian acknowledged that Ranking Member Warner “disagrees with the way Burr characterized the evidence about collusion,” he added that other Democrats on the Committee “did not dispute Burr’s characterizations, but said they lacked context.”

Over the past two years, broadcast evening news shows have spent more than 36 hours haranguing viewers about potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Given their keen interest in the subject, you might expect a bipartisan group of investigators finding “no material evidence” of collusion to be newsworthy.

I wouldn't mind the mainstream media so much if they at least covered both sides of an argument. But to control the narrative, they just can't do that.

and they still can't control the narrative

Attached: nytbfto.jpg (574x600, 102.99K)

duhhhhh OF COURSE the Senate Intelligence Committee 'found no evidence'…..

BECAUSE IT WAS CONDUCTED BY REPUBLICANS
WHO WILL LOSE GROUND BIGTIME WHEN THE
ACTUAL FACTS GET RELEASED BY MUELLER

trust me…. Trump didn't 'collude'
he CONSPIRED !!!

'collusion' is a stupid brainwashing catchphrase
that Giuliani told Trump to start using to make
people lost focus on the term CONSPIRACY

Trump definitely conspired with the Russians

and that's a federal offense, not to mention
that it's treason. 'collusion' isn't a criminal charge

WHAT…..
THE…….
FUCK……

IS WRONG WITH HIS STUPID CAVEMAN HAND?

Attached: PicsArt_02-19-05.10.31.png (1080x1380, 1.04M)

Here's the ironic part:

you're so into conspiracies…..

chemtrails…. 5G…. etc etc etc

but you intentionally ignore the
most OBVIOUS APPARENT
LEGITIMATE CONSPIRACY
in recent history…………….

it's not the type of conspiracy you enjoy….
there is no 'secret mind control' or 'beams
from outer space' or 'corporations selling
evil smartphones' or 'satanic demons'…..

No, this one is just your garden variety
PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE WHO CUT
SECRET DEALS WITH OUR ARCH ENEMY
AND ARRANGED TO HAVE THEIR HACKERS
GIVE STOLEN EMAILS TO WIKILEAKS TO
SWAY THE ELECTION, AND AFTERWARDS
HE WON'T LET ANYONE BE IN THE SAME
ROOM WHILE HE HOLDS PRIVATE CLOSED
DOOR MEETINGS WITH PUTIN AND REFUSES
TO LISTEN TO HIS OWN INTELLIGENCE
AGENCY REPORTS AND TREMBLES IN FEAR
IN FRONT OF PUTIN AND THEN SUDDENLY
ANNOUNCES THAT HE'S GOING TO PULL OUT
OF SYRIA TO CREATE A VACUUM FOR RUSSIA
that kind of garden variety conspiracy……

and while you're going to tell me that there is no
proof that any of this happened, in fact, you have
no proof that it DIDN'T, and the fact of the matter
is that we really ought to applaud Mueller because
unlike every other slipshod investigation, he has
managed to NOT leak the details regarding the
progress in this investigation, and while none of
us will know the full extent of his findings until
he has completed the entire thing, it's safe to say
THAT THERE IS EVERY INDICATION THAT TRUMP CONSPIRED WITH THE RUSSIANS TO COMMIT VIOLATIONS OF FEDERAL LAW AND HAS ALSO OBSTRUCTED JUSTICE

and for a guy who is so convinced of so many
conspiracies with very little actual evidence
it seems like you would at least admit this one seems to have at least SOME validity, because you're old enough and intelligent enough and experienced enough to know that as a rule WHERE THERE IS SMOKE, THERE IS FIRE

the reason nobody cares about a Republican 'make believe investigation' is because EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT A MONSTER'S HAND WILL NEVER CUT OFF THE MONSTER'S HEAD.

of course they're going to say that they found no direct evidence……

because they weren't actually looking

and they don't have access to it

and they didn't conduct a real investigation

Mueller is doing that, and HE definitely seems to have found plenty of evidence

…………….and NBC certainly did cover the story

Attached: Screenshot_2019-02-19-17-51-48.png (1080x2160, 983.93K)

……….so did CBS…………

and ABC

Senate Intelligence Committee Democrats Dispute Claims That Russia Probe Found No Collusion

“The president is terrified about where our investigation…may lead.”

Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee are pushing back on a claim by the panel’s chair, Richard Burr (R-N.C.), that the committee’s two-year investigation has not found “anything that would suggest there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.” And they dispute an NBC News report saying that Democrats agreed with Burr that they have yet to see clear evidence of a conspiracy between President Donald Trump and Moscow.

“That’s not true,” Sen. Angus King, a Maine independent who caucuses with Democrats, told Mother Jones. “I think it’s misleading. The intelligence committee hasn’t discussed the matter, let alone released a committee report.”

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.), a senior Democrat on the panel, and Sen. Mark Warner (Va.), the top Democrat on the committee, also said they have not reached any conclusions about their investigation. “I disagree,” Warner said Tuesday when asked about Burr’s claims.

President Donald Trump tweeted Wednesday morning that the Senate Intelligence Committee’s Russia investigation has exonerated him, finding “NO EVIDENCE OF COLLUSION” between his campaign and Russia. The tweet is misleading since the committee’s report is not yet complete.

But committee chair Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) did recently tell reporters that after a lengthy investigation, he had not yet seen evidence of collusion. And NBC News reported Tuesday that Democratic committee sources also acknowledge their probe has so far uncovered “no direct evidence” of a conspiracy to interfere with the election — though they said the pattern of contacts between Trump’s team and Russia they uncovered was troubling.

The committee has reportedly conducted more than 200 interviews, reviewed hundreds of thousands of documents, and conducted the most thorough, bipartisan congressional investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election. (Burr, it should be noted, also advised Trump’s campaign on national security, though he has shown some willingness to occasionally push back against the president.)

Now Burr is basically saying that after all that, the committee has found no smoking gun of collusion. Democrats aren’t really disputing that, though they’ve said what they have found is troubling enough. The committee’s top Democrat, Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, said Tuesday that he won’t describe his conclusions until the investigation is finished.

It’s important to note, though, that this investigation has been carried out completely separately from special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe, and did not have all the investigatory tools available to Mueller. The special counsel’s investigation remains ongoing.
What Trump is saying

On Wednesday morning, Trump tweeted a boast about what he characterized as the Senate Intelligence Committee’s conclusion that “THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF COLLUSION BETWEEN THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN AND RUSSIA!”

We would be fools to pretend that we can decide what Mueller's investigation will finally show.

But you would have to be crazy to think that there's nothing there, because so far everybody knows that they have found plenty of suspicious activity

My educated guess?…. Trump will be proven guilty

but nothing will happen to him

because NOTHING HAS CHANGED
and corruption is just as bad as it
always has been, and the dragon
will never cut off it's own head

Who's the dumbfuck who actually thinks the Democrat Party didn't make this entire thing up and push it for three plus years?

this is like saying the Superbowl got 100 hours of news coverage, but my next door neighbor's opinion about the Superbowl didn't get any news coverage

lol @ how desperate you are. you finally felt like you were 'part of something' and that you 'made a difference', only to realize that you were one of the most gullible fools of them all, on the same level as the average trailer park WWE fan.

better luck next lifetime, huh ?

covfefe is emergy

Holy fucking shit, I just got back on here to find Johnny sperging out about this lol.

Hello Johnny. Remember all the NSA abuse with their spying? Well THIS is why they set up surveillance on individuals, so they can target them when they misbehave or pose a "threat" to the establishment. Trump misbehaved because he wasn't supposed to run, and he certainly wasn't supposed to win against their already s-elected presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. However he did, and they were pissed. So they are trying to dig any dirt they have on the guy to bust him for something. Because the government is a bunch of totalitarian jackbooted crooks. Thats the REAL story.

And honestly, I don't give a damn about Trump. But it is the truth.

It was the DNC (also McCain and the Bush family too), they were exposed hiring a British spy to dig up dirt on Trump, remember the "The Trump-Russia dossier." Well turns out that was loaded with bullshit, they paid the man to try to get any dirt he could on Trump and what he ended up getting was a lot of spoon-fed disinformation. This was their "insurance policy" against him encase he did win, so they had a reason to cry to Obama's FBI holdovers to start an immediate investigation. Here we are, 2+ years on….

Believing corrupt politicians.
Believing the lying sack of shit government we have today.

Hahahahaha!

Believing the corporate mainstream media? Now THAT's funny!

Here's an EMERGY

Trump's conspiring with the Saudis and is going to give them nuclear weaponry

I tend to think that 'they' actually DID intend on Trump winning

(remember: he did NOT win the popular vote)

The Atomic Energy Act of 1954 prohibits the export of American nuclear technology without congressional approval. The rationale behind this law is simple: If an American firm sells a foreign regime a nuclear power plant, said regime could plausibly use that technology to advance a nuclear weapons program (if adequate safeguards aren’t in place).

Saudi Arabia is an Islamist autocracy, and an exceptional aggressively and paranoid geopolitical actor. The kingdom has spent much of the past three years organizing a blockade against a U.S. ally, using American-made technology to bomb Yemeni schoolchildren, and engineering a famine in the Middle East’s poorest country.

And yet, high-ranking Trump administration officials have been trying to transfer nuclear technology to the Saudi government — without congressional approval — since the day Donald Trump took office, according to a new report by House Oversight Committee chairman, Democrat Elijah Cummings.

Drawing on the testimony of whistle-blowers and various documents, Cummings claims that senior White House officials repeatedly promoted the sale of nuclear power plants to Riyadh, over the persistent objections of the National Security Council and other Executive branch staff. These objections were both legal (the sale required congressional authorization), and strategic (giving nuclear technology to the Saudis could trigger a Middle East arms race). Nevertheless, certain administration officials persisted; the prospective sale was reportedly discussed during an Oval Office meeting just last week.

The report suggests the administration’s resilient interest in approving the sale might not have been driven by the purest of motives. While serving as an adviser to the Trump campaign and transition team, Michael Flynn also worked as a consultant to a subsidiary of IP3, the company organizing the sale of nuclear equipment to the Saudis. Throughout that period, Flynn reportedly advocated for IP3’s sale in internal discussions — and continued to do so, after he became White House national security adviser.

Meanwhile, Brookfield Asset Management, the parent company of one nuclear manufacturer involved in the proposed deal, recently offered much-needed financial assistance to Jared Kushner’s family: Last year, Brookfield took a 99-year lease on the Kushner’s disastrously indebted building at 666 Fifth Avenue.

Attached: Screenshot_2019-02-19-20-04-35.png (1080x2160, 1.13M)

Trump’s longtime associate Thomas Barrack and National Security Council member Derek Harvey were also key backers of the nuclear sale. As Cummings writes:

[J]ust days after the President’s inauguration, IP3 officials sent documents directly to General Flynn for President Trump to approve, including a draft Cabinet Memo stating that the President had appointed Mr. Barrack as a special representative to implement the plan and directing agencies to support Mr. Barrack’s efforts.

… According to the whistleblowers, Derek Harvey, the Senior Director for Middle East and North African Affairs at the National Security Council (NSC) from January to July 2017, stated during the first week of the Trump Administration that the decision to adopt IP3’s nuclear plan, which it called the Middle East Marshall Plan, and develop “dozens of nuclear power plants” had already been made by General Flynn during the transition — while he was serving as an advisor to IP3. Career staff warned that any transfer of nuclear technology must comply with the Atomic Energy Act, that the United States and Saudi Arabia would need to reach a 123 Agreement, and that these legal requirements could not be circumvented. Mr. Harvey reportedly ignored these warnings and insisted that the decision to transfer nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia had already been made.

According the report, the deal’s opponents included former National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster.

The most controversial claim in Cummings’s missive, however, might be this: “Further investigation is needed to determine whether the actions being pursued by the Trump Administration are in the national security interest of the United States, or, rather, serve those who stand to gain financially as a result of this potential change in U.S. foreign policy.”

Given this administration’s track record on serving those who stand to gain financially from its policies, further investigation hardly seems necessary to determine that the White House hasn’t been pursuing the nuclear sale for our nation’s health.

and it's not just that 'his aides tried to push the illegal sale through'

nope….

Now Trump has decided to illegally bypass Congress and continue moving forward with the deal

The Trump administration is bypassing the United States Congress to advance the sale of US nuclear power plants to Saudi Arabia, despite concerns it would violate US law guarding against technology transfers, according to a new report by a congressional committee.

Security analysts worry the technology would allow Saudi Arabia to produce nuclear weapons in the future, potentially contributing to an arms race in the Middle East.

US legislators are concerned about the stability of Saudi leadership under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) because of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi and the war in Yemen.

Multiple unnamed "whistleblowers" have come forward to warn about White House attempts to speed the transfer of highly sensitive US nuclear technology to build new nuclear power plants in Saudi Arabia, according to the staff report by the House Oversight and Reform Committee.

"The whistleblowers who came forward have warned of conflicts of interest among top White House advisers that could implicate federal criminal statutes," Representative Elijah Cummings, the Democrat chairman of the committee, said in a February 19 letter to the White House.

The committee is investigating efforts by US nuclear power companies to win Trump administration approval to build nuclear power plants in Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries.
