Pope assails insatiable greed of consumerism; forgo greed, gluttony…
The pontiff, 82, condemned inequality in his Christmas service at St Peter's Basilica in Vatican City last night

Pope Francis assailed the "insatiable greed" of today's consumerism at the Vatican and pilgrims crowded into the church at the traditional site of Jesus's birth in Bethlehem on Tuesday as Christmas celebrations began worldwide. Thousands attended mass on Monday night at the Vatican's Saint Peter's Basilica, where Pope Francis, the head of the world's 1.3 billion Catholics, offered his Christmas homily. "An insatiable greed marks all human history, even today, when, paradoxically, a few dine luxuriantly while all too many go without the daily bread needed to survive," the 82-year-old pope said. Pope Francis will deliver his sixth "Urbi et Orbi" address on Tuesday, Christmas Day – when Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ – to pilgrims gathered in Saint Peter's Square.

He actually lives in a modest apartment. nobody actually lives in St. Peter's, stop this meme

...

Stop it please. It was actually a good speech

...

Why did this thread suddenly turn so political? It's obvious the Pope is talking about idols such as greed (read Colossians)

...

If I'm not mistaken that is from yesterday's (24th) Midnight Mass in the St. Peter's Basilica. I think the doll was near the Altar during the Mass. At the end of it he brought it to a Nativity scene and it was put in a crib (by someone else).

Is Zig Forums reddit now? Is there some better place to go?

The problem is usury, crapitalists always defend the Jew because they think that they have an equal opportunity at being rich and having lots of toys when the Jew hoards all the fruits of a nations labor

For people like you the pope should live in a wooden shack because you must be retarded.
If the Vatican sold every possession it got it would just provided just one extra meal to everyone in the world at the very best.
And lets not forget that all of the money that gets to the Vatican goes to charity and what remains is to pay for the workers that work there or for individual parishes for maintenance. Does pastor Anderson gives 99% of his profits to charity, or better yet he or his churchmen go to Africa and spend their life's helping the tiggers there.
Another point is that you like everyone else dresses their best clothes to go to Mass. Why should we built the best buildings and have the greatest works of art to honor our Lord?

You can have capitalism without usury. And remember, the regressive left calls anything other than Marxism capitalism.

The old old shit argument people use against monarchies.

Ps: even if the pope was being an hypocrite the things he said were still right.
If a doctor tells you that smoking and the doctor himself smokes a lot it doesn't mean what he said isn't right.

The amount of "muh capitalism" in this thread is hilarious.
Still buying into false dichotomy of muh based capitalism vs based communism?
For once the pope said something right. Opposing usury does not make you a communist, stop buying into lies.
