Christianity is the least oppressive thing in the world for a woman. It's the only institution that encourages women to actually be women. The secular world order expects women to basically be knockoff men, which is unnatural and therefore oppressive, as it suppresses that which comes naturally to women.

Striking the inherently weaker sex when words can he used to convey the same message

I'm a-okay with a man hitting a woman out of self defense, but this is scumbag level bullcrap. Any man who hits his wife not in self defense deserves to get raped and have the crap beat out of him behind bars. Multiple times. Death is too good for that lot. You included if you aren't just fun-posting.

If Catholic, remind her of the countless female Saints venerated by Catholics and their "empowering" (make sure to use that word) stories, that the most respected member of the Church is Mary, and that women in general are deeply cherished within the Church. Tell her that women only started to receive equal rights in (Protestant) Christian countries. Also, remind her that non-Christian societies have always forced women to be second-class citizens. If all else fails, simply bring up how women in [your country] have it so much better than Muslim women in the Middle East and Africa, who are (legally) beaten in public, forced to cover up, raped, and even beheaded by their husbands.

Alexander White
Alexander White

It is "oppressive" to women in the same way that it is "oppressive" to men, it calls us to a higher version of ourselves that ends in total union with God. Case in a few points, compare Mary to Jezebel, or Eve. One is free in God and became the most powerful creature in all of creation, and the others, not so much. Tell her about Saint Paul, and the lack of gender hierarchy, roles, etc, in union with Christ (the annihilation of all external characteristics actually in Christ), and how women aren't freed in modern society, but are reduced to mere objects of lust and pleasure, thinking it is for their own sakes when it is not. Something along these lines.

Jeremiah Baker

Saying that different gender roles for men and woman is "oppressive" is like saying a mattress is oppressed by its sheets.

And why are leftists only able to relate to the world through popular culture and television? Dressing up as fictional characters from a fantasy TV show is so low-IQ.

Men and women are equally valuable in the eyes of God, but they have different roles to fulfill. It's a symptom of the materialistic world that people think the male role is "better".

Christianity says she should birth kids, nurture them, and make the home a warm environment for the healthy facilitation of the family. Her retarded feminist beliefs demand that she act like a man, getting a job like a man where she dresses like a man and acts like a man. Basically there's nothing you can say to her she just needs to find a man that will put her in her place.

Dominic Gonzalez

If he struck her that'd honestly teach her way more about gender roles than any words can. It'll translate perfectly that she is naturally frail and small and will submit to his strength in her weakness and he is naturally strong and large and dominant. Some lessons can't be taught with words, user.

Lel. Sure in most cases it's a dick move to hit a lady, but in most cases it doesn't happen., guys don't just hit women out of the blue In this case it would be perfectly justified, so long as he doesn't actually injure her. Hitting men and I mean HARD, not a slap like you'd give an uppity woman is justified in many cases as well but it doesn't happen for similar reasons as to why it doesn't happen to women, fear of social ramifications.

Ask her why only women can give birth, if men and women are equal?
If she asks why that is relative, say because God created everything to be what it is, and not be what it is not.
So a women who is nurturing by nature, plays an important role in the development of the family unit.
While historically men worked log hours of back breaking work to provide for the family, because God created man stronger.

If your sister cant understand the differences between man and women, she is dumb, and probably isnt cut out for much. Sorry m8

You tell her that freedom is no excuse for denying truth, and every single one of us will be judged regardless of what we believe or what gender we are.
And the most painful judgement that we will ever face is coming face to face with ourselves and see what our pride and vanity turned us into, how we robbed ourselves from happiness and peace and the fact that despite all excuses we are solely responsible for it all. It's bettet to be judged before the final judgement so that we can course-correct.

Hudson Anderson

As the son of a physically abusive father, I completely disagree and there is quite literally nothing any of you could say to convince me otherwise. Violence of any kind has no place in a healthy, loving marriage. Do you think Joseph ever struck Mary even lightly? You know, the couple we're told to aspire to in marriage in the Catholic Church? And don't tell me, "she knew her place as was submissive" either, because I can assure you my mother was very submissive to a fault. Didn't stop my supposedly catholic dad who lectored at church from almost killing her and my siblings on multiple occasions.

Basically, I will literally never agree with any of you on this matter.

I just think it's funny because me saying women are inherently weaker is also viewed as a sexist stance. It's scientifically proven, but it's not a PC thing to say. So from his sister's perspective, both of us would be wrong. And yet because of what I'm advocating against, even other sexists view me as wrong.

My dad beat my mom and my sister regardless of this, so my stance will never change, but it's really ironic when you look at it from a non-christian, liberal perspective of which I obviously am not if that weren't apparent

Then again I'm voluntarily celibate, albeit a bit socially awkward, so idk.

The world is oppressive to all men and women, but through the grace of God we can overcome it. Through God, we go from being small, insignificant, purposeless, and doomed to eventual oblivion to deeply loved, important to His plan, clearly guided through His principles, and are promised eternal life in believing Him.

Well, I'm married and have kids and I can't imagine raising my hand in violence against any of my family. Is my wife weaker than I am? Not always. She carried and pushed out 2 kids and I'm pretty damn sure I couldn't do that - even if I had the plumbing to do so. I've seen her tend to the needs of the children when she's been near bedridden with the flu, I've seen her deal with some of the biggest jackasses in the world with grace, and she puts up with my sorry ass.

I think the term "strength" has many definitions and isn't just limited to "how much do you lift, bro".

Grayson Stewart

Seriously, Handmaiden's Tale is the George Orwell or Benjamin Franklin of feminism.

Every retard without something to actually say thinks invoking that means you win the debate.

Atleast 1984 and Animal Farm, was a great predictor of the messed up mentality and hypocritical methods marxist-leninism and other totalitarian regimes were gonna use on the populace.

Gilead is something that makes Saudi Arabia seem liberal, and is basically cheap oppression porn.

Austin Edwards

Is my wife weaker than I am? Not always.

Dude, testosterone is a hell of a hormone. Women in the military are scored on a different scale to men because if they were held to the same standards the top scoring women would be equivalent to the bottom 10% of male soldiers, meaning any company with women is inherently disadvantaged. We separate the Olympics and all other sports along gender lines for the same reason. Women are built for birthing and nursing children so of course your wife was able to. Men on the other hand are built for physically strenuous activity, and so are inherently inclined to be more physically capable by default.

We are talking about hitting a woman so that's a physical and psychological in this case act of violence and abuse. So what's weak to you would still be strong to her. This terrible reasoning given the subject at hand. It may not be kosher to say that women are weak but it's true. Feminists and everyone may pick and chose what parts of chivalry need to die and which need to stay, but at the end of the day hitting a woman has negative social ramifications for a reason.

No, of course they don't; that goes against God's will. However, pointing out that "Christian" (i.e. Protestants such as the Quakers, but don't get that specific) society gave women equal rights is a good first step in getting OP's sister to be more open to Christianity. Of course, if OP's sister is as closed-minded as mine, her brain will simply go into shutdown mode upon hearing a differing opinion and she'll continue to get her political opinions from vegan feminists and homosexuals on tumblr and twitter.

Charles Perry

First you ask her how, then you ask her to explain why the "oppression" is bad. She most likely can't but if she does, just explain that women and men are inherently different and treat them as if they are the same is unreasonable.

As the son of a physically abusive father
This is virtue signaling on the level of "as a gay man" or "as a woman". I never said that something like what your father did was okay, in fact I'd say that your mother was not doing enough to get you out of that environment. I specifically said that you slap a woman when she's in the wrong legitimately wrong, not just for any old reason obviously. We don't have enough small level violence in this pussified world, like I said, most men deserve to be hit right in the jaw. That being said, it's really awful that you want your own father to be raped, what a scummy thing to say, I don't care if your father killed 6 gazillion people for real, that's something you shouldn't say about your parents, about anyone really, but especially your parents. It's also funny that you haven't done that to him yourself, but would rather have others bust nuts in his ass for you. If he actually beat your mother and you feel like revenge is justified, meet up with him and duke it out instead of talking big on the internet like it means anything. Or go talk to someone about your gay fantasies involving your father, you should have that checked.
Do you think Joseph ever struck Mary even lightly?
Mary was good enough to be chosen by God to give birth to Jesus, so I doubt that he'd have any reason to at all. This is a non-argument.
I think you underestimate how few people would be offended by that. There's a select group of people that will get mad if you say that women are (physically) weaker than men. Most people will get slightly peeved by it if you mention it out of context like a super autist, but mostly it's a (((select few))) who spread the idea that everyone acts like sjws. The only places where everyone is an sjw is some colleges, all art schools, and certain art-related industries (like cartoons), and wouldn't you know it, they're run by people with (((a certain common trait))). But like user said, strength has many definitions. Don't shortchange it.

I'm sorry I'm being honest. I should lie more.
I never said that something like what your father did was okay,
I consider all needless violence against women and children equivalent, purely because there's no point other than aggression and stupidity.
in fact I'd say that your mother was not doing enough to get you out of that environment.
Screw you! My mother took the worst of it all, that's why she was so damaged! She's been in and out of counseling for years. Her only consolation during the whole thing was a priest who encouraged her to get help.
I specifically said that you slap a woman when she's in the wrong
Do you hit other men when they're wrong? People aren't dogs. We understand language beyond the level of noise.
We don't have enough small level violence in this pussified world, like I said, most men deserve to be hit right in the jaw.
Implying pacifism is "Pussified" and not an honorable path.
Go back to /pol/.
That being said, it's really awful that you want your own father to be raped, what a scummy thing to say,
Screw him! He's not my father beyond genetics. He didn't raise me, and any interaction I have had with him was miserable. I can't sit here and see people say they want kiddy-didlers and rapists to get the death penalty and then tell me this crap is OK.
meet up with him and duke it out instead of talking big on the internet like it means anything.
I legally can't, and besides, I don't want to waste my time. Let him drink himself to death, the deadbeat that he his. That's the most revenge I can have: we're happy and he's miserable.
Or go talk to someone about your gay fantasies involving your father
Seriously go screw yourself! You say I talk big online, how many women have you hit.over an argument, big boy? That is if you can even talk to them without starring at the floor silently shaking.
I want him to surfer the ultimate indignity and pain for a straight male, and castration wouldn't do because it can only happen once.
I think you underestimate how few people would be offended by that
As an american college student, I don't think I am. At least when it comes to people who actually hold a position of power and influence in society.

Honestly with how you write, you seem like a newcomer,/pol/tard who's still clinging to the fascist ideal of masculinity and "strength". I'm not saying strap in the ball gag and prepare to get pegged by your girl buddy. Maybe just don't strike another human being over a verbal argument? I don't think that's very hard unless you're an ape or a 5 year old who needs to learn manners.

Nolan Morris

Honestly i'm symphatetic towards you, but i have to say that out of charity, you seem to harbor very negative harmful feelings towards your father. As christians we are supposed to hope that everyone goes to heaven and repent, and that we should love our enemies..Not saying you should seek an reconciliation, but instead, that you should pray for him so repents of his evil deeds ( Do notice though that personally forgiving him doesn't mean you shouldn't want him to get punished ). Also be careful wishing rape on someone, as much as he deserves punishment, no one should be raped, because that involves at least two people, and the rapist would be sinning mortally too.
Just my two cents. God Bless

I know,. It was a shock-value hyperbole meant to showcase my negative sentiment. I don't actually want this to happen to anyone, but I was making a point of how negatively I felt towards the sentiment that striking a woman over something so mild was ok.

Like I said in my later post, my revenge is that we''re happier and stronger without him while he's miserable. In a way I'm grateful because his behavior and the damage it caused gave me a goal to aspire to in life: to never be my father, and to be the father I never had to my children. At the same time, "forgiveness" is a bit hard to embrace. I'm more so apathetic to his continued existence, so long as he remains out of our lives.

I never accused you of getting violent, I actually insulted you by calling you too cowardly to do so. Getting into fights would probably be better than you stewing in your own juices and fantasizing about grotesque violence. Particularly since wishing what your father would do on people you don't like is practically accepting his sins as being wrong in only who it was being done to.
And the central tenant of the faith is love. Stop putting malice on a pedestal in your own mind's eye if you want to flee his evil and to Christ.
This isn't bluntness, this is you trying too hard justify yourself to some asshole on a board for catholics and baptists to call each other heretics.
