yea, Impressions was alright :)
You never responded to me wherever I should listen to impressions or if it was more of a personal diary, so thats not very nice

>have rym account for 2 and a half years
>barely making it to 900 ratings
how do you guys do it?

>You're still a boomer though
the fact that you're serious makes this comment worse

I've been "seriously" listening to music for like a decade now and I also rate some singles

>listen to 8hrs of music a day
>[(365 days in a year * 2.5 years) * 8 hours a day]/(10 listens per album to make sure you really know it) = 730 ratings

>10 listens per album to make sure you really know it
LOL

for anyone who's been blocked before, who blocked you and why do you think they blocked you?

>hey skinner what do you think of Zhou Xuan?

It get easier rating stuff when you become more familiar with certain genres/styles and you figure out what you generally like in music
I usually listen to an album twice before rating though

here is how many times I listen to something before I rate it:
>The project is absolute garbage and takes an incredbile amount of willpower to even finish
1 listen
>The project is decent but repetitive and you get what its trying to do after 1 song
1 listen
>The project is flawed but interesting
2 listen
>After 2 listens I feel like giving it a 7 or higher and/or I keep discovering new things about it
3 listens
>I feel like giving it an 8 or higher
5 listens
>I feel like giving it a 10
at least a year of continuous listening

10 listens is quite insane :) share your profile, Id love to see what you've tortured yourself into giving 10 listens
also this, I listen to so much post-rock that I usually get the gist of it after the first track. If the project doesnt strike me whatsoever 1 listen is more than enough

I'm familiar with some genres and like music in those genres. I still make sure I can remember at least some of the songs and how they go before I rate it, though. If I can't even recall how any of the songs go several days days after the last listen (not just an overall idea of what the album sounded like, but how the songs actually go), what was the point of even rating it? Can you REALLY give an opinion on something if you can't even remember how the songs go?
