How was it?

How was it?

Attached: Monster House.png (558x676, 1014.87K)

It was fine.

It's alright

It was Kafkaesque

So it's a girl house.

Pretty fun movie from what I remember. Haven't seen it in years, though. I still feel bad about holding up the line at the theater and ultimately keeping my family and siblings from watching it then because I was too scared

Had some interesting shots

Attached: Monster.House.2006.mp4_snapshot_00.08.07_[2016.11.12_05.21.37].jpg (1920x800, 361.33K)

how fucking old were you?

Is that at all relevant?

If you were 4 years old its understandable, if you were 12 its pathetic.

Fun, the art style was kinda bland.

The best LAIKA movie besides Coraline

SAW IT WHEN I WAS SEVEN
IT SUCKED

I was seven.

Attached: shy emoji.jpg (720x720, 56.04K)

You know Laika had nothing to do with this, right ?

Probably the best Mocap film out there. Tintin is fun, but it has no substance. Final Fantasy, Polar Express, Beowulf and Christmas Carol were mostly dull or unsettling, and Mars Needs Moms was so bad that it killed the entire genre.

That's fair, there's a large jump once you get past 10.

it holds up well I think. It becomes much better when you remember this was animated by the studio responsible for Polar Express and Mars Needs Moms

I like how the whole film takes place in only 2 days and in a very small setting.

Oh that's fine.
Everyone's a little pussy when they're 7.
I cried due to Mortal Kombat blood around that age.

My mom was really overweight when I was a kid so that fat bitch getting taunted and falling to her death made my blood boil.

Needs a severe dicking

B- visuals, A on everything else

Pretty fun movie all things considered. I almost always rewatch this thing on halloween. The plot with the old man and his wife was actually interesting to

Attached: Two Thumbs Up.jpg (173x215, 10.85K)

Best thing dan harmon ever did

I felt really bad for the old guy, but at least his wife found peace.

S'alright but the loli was pretty stacked

It would be so easy

This.

like raping a toothpick

Sir, that is a child.

Good movie, but I hate it for some reason

Why do you hate it, user?

I really don't know, but after the third time watching it I can't stand the movie anymore

>S'alright and the loli was pretty stacked
FTFY

I remember Jenny being a lot cuter.

Attached: Jenny's_Peril.jpg (1095x565, 74.74K)

The story and tone were pretty great, and the whole movie just felt satisfying. It's motion capture animation is bit wonky and jarring, but works well with the horror themes of the movie. I'm suprised it's not more of a "Halloween" movie than it currently is, I guess nightmare before christmas took the place of the one scary animated movie.

Thats fine. I recall been 8 when the War of the Worlds movie came out and the loud sound the tripods made haunted me for weeks

I really feel bad about the woman.
She has the same body type and fashion sense as my mother, not to mention her dubbed voice sounds like hers.
Watching her die, traumatized me about my mom given how my dad and brothers molest her a lot, not to mention her siblings leeching her food and money all the time.

My mom is a really nice lady, she wishes everyone their best; yet I’ve seen her cry a lot since I was a small child by those she tries to love. I keep worrying about her dying, I really want her to be happy, but I’m not enough for her.

kek and based

Even better

I tricked you, I was 4 at that time.
How much of a pussy should you be to cry at Mortal Combat. Haha, faggots.

I had a really big crush on the girl in this movie when this movie came out.
Now?
Well I still would smash, but she's really not all that special.

8/10 movie that would've been 9/10 if they didn't pussy out and have all the eaten characters miraculously emerge unharmed in the end-credits

Been years since I saw it.
But I recall thinking it was decent. Also surprisingly pretty dark at times.

Great movie. I still watch it every Halloween and my mom still quotes it.

Pretty damn good.

How can a movie be both good and forgettable at the same time?

This movie was pure 2000s CGI kino!

Were there any actual waifus in this film? Did we ever see TJ's parents?

Dan "Don't ask me about my encyclopedic knowledge of cuck porn" Harmon said the movie was supposed to be darker, including that house would have a giant human digestion system, which presumably would have killed the people who got eaten

Yeah: Zee and Jenny!

I'll pass.

What was the halloween movie that used to show on CN every year or so? Kid went to like a house party at Dracula's or something and they became friends, then other spook lords showed up.
They made two or three and I've been trying to find it for years for my annual Halloween binge, it's not Halloween Town and it's obviously not Hotel Transylvania since that shit came out years and years later.

When I first saw it, I thought the fat bitch's corpse would taste a lot like eggs. Put me off eggs for years.
Scary Godmother?

Scary Godmother

OH SHIT that's it! Thanks anons I can't wait for it to be 100x worse than I remember shattering gilded memories forever, gonna watch it right now.

Don't worry, it will be. One of the characters, the older brother IIRC, has little black dots for eyes that just change shape whenever he's supposed to be blinking.

Yeah I saw some screencaps when I googled it to check. Not looking like it's going to hold up, gonna trip and watch a bunch of Halloween movies in a row and report back.

My stepsister babysitted me on like, one of the first times we've seen eachother since our parents got together. She was 10 or so years older than me and I so had a crush on her.
She rented this movie to watch together when it first came out on dvd and I was so fucking piss scared of it but I wanted to impress her and stuff so I soldiered on and tried to act as if I wasn't fucking terrified.
It was one of those things you don't forget. That movie gave me fucking nightmares for weeks.
Also I still have a crush on her but I'm a creepy virgin and not a shota anymore so what's the point.
Thanks for reading my blog

Work on yourself and then make her proud user. She sounds like a great person.

Did she look like Zee?

Shit fucked me up

Attached: sc.jpg (1024x683, 169.38K)

Actually, yeah. She had that scene, emoish thing going on and fucking god it did things for me.

Shut the fuck up. Incest is gross. Go find a woman outside of your family tree, you weirdo.

Cringe

Gay.

Based

I had a DVD of this at my house that my dad bought from some Mexican selling it on the corner and I never touched/watched the movie

Why not?

All things considered it's a pretty good story I think. I haven't seen it in years, but from what I remember it's very enjoyable, and definitely a unique idea at least.
Also, according to my mom I spent an embarrassing amount of time as a kid perfecting my movements so I could do a one-for-one reenactment of the opening scene where the old man steals that girl's bike.

Not an amazing film, but definitely one of only good animated ones from 2006, which was quite the bad year for animation

>2006 was quite the bad year for animation
How so?

Attached: Inquisitive.png (206x206, 48.88K)

Way too much mediocrity ( Open Season, The Wild, Barnyard, Ant Bully, Ice Age 2, Everyone's Hero, etc ) The only good ones were this, Cars, Happy Feet, Over the Hedge and, i suppose, Flushed Away

Yikes. That is pretty bad. Wasn't 2007 a big step up by comparison?

Attached: Steven cringe.png (500x500, 218.45K)

>Stepsister

Loved it.

She's going to be one of those teenagers that goes overboard on the ear and face piercings. I don't blame her, she has an impressive canvas to work with.

That's still a sister. If user truly feels romantic or sexual feelings to this day, then seeing a therapist would be the best option.

Attached: Cranston.jpg (500x500, 46.85K)

>traumatized me about my mom given how my dad and brothers molest her a lot
Nice bait

it was good. 4 out of 5

It was. There was the huge dissapointment that was Shrek the Third, but we also got good stuff like Ratatouille, Bee Movie, Simpsons movie, Surf's Up and, despite some flaws, Meet the Robinsons

Based and redpilled. What happened to the guy making the porn model of the ginger?

>despite some flaws
You take that back

Attached: Angry Franny.jpg (1920x1080, 322.24K)

I really like it, but there're still some Chicken Little era vibes, mainly in the comedy. The film is at its best when it focuses on Lewis's arc instead of the wacky family imo

Wait, wasn't Bambi 2 from that year? Because it's also pretty good.

That's... oddly specific.

That was direct to dvd, except in a few countries

I'm argentinian, and for some reason that movie came out first here in theaters, yet was released only on dvd in america. Wonder why ? Still remember watching the commercial as a kid

I remember liking the bee movie when I were little.
Honestly, I don't see why everyone's hating on it like that with ironic memes and such

Direct-to-DVD films having theatrical runs in countries outside the U.S. happens sometimes. I remember watching The Jungle Book 2 in theaters and running up to go touch the screen during the end credits.

Attached: Shanti Mom and Messua.jpg (500x500, 40.34K)

It was a girl house.

It's a great comedy, thanks to Seinfield. The whole film is based on absurdism and observational humor

Underrated joke. It's also funny when the fat kid mentions his mom having an affair with his trainer

I don't understand this line.

>the fat kid
Have some respect for my man Chowder

Attached: bruh, look at this DUDE.png (300x300, 144.49K)

reminds me of a time when every CGI movie didn't look the exact fucking same

What are you talking about? Throughout the 2000s and early 2010s, every feature animation studio was trying to ape DreamWorks and Pixar. Monster House was just an outlier.

It's only now that we're finally starting to break new ground with CG now.

Attached: Miles isn't falling through frame. He's RISING.jpg (3840x2160, 770.48K)

Chowder was great. Far better than the actual MC, who was kind of a bore

Movies like Spider Verse don't happen in a regular fashion tho. I'll be a while before we see something on par with it again

An animated film doesn't have to match Spider-Verse's specific style to be considered "different," visually. It just has to look like something other than what Pixar, DreamWorks, and Illumination typically pop out.

Scoob! and Sponge on the Run are doing just that. Now we just need more ORIGINAL films to stand on their own with a unique style. Klaus, The Willoughbys, and Connected are good examples.

Attached: It's possible that Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation will be the biggest providers of visually unique animated films moving forward.jpg (940x525, 312.98K)

Shrek 3 is good

no it ain't

Meh, stylized animation like Scoob or Connected is nothing new. Cloudy with Meatballs came out in 2009 after all. Heck, even Madagascar was somewhat stylized. Spider Verse is completely different to everything else tho

It's funnier and not as retarded as Forever After, but still not good. Too many jokes fall flat, Charming returning was lame, Arthur wasn't interesting and the whole plot of Shrek trying to force someone else to become king in his place just wasn't fun

Pretty good. I liked literally every other character more than the trio though.

Attached: Sorry kid I'm GAMING.jpg (355x500, 33.12K)

>Dan "Don't ask me about my encyclopedic knowledge of cuck porn" Harmon said the movie was supposed to be darker, including that house would have a giant human digestion system, which presumably would have killed the people who got eaten
I can confirm this is at least partially true, because I got the obscure IDW comic-tie in to Monster House, and in it they actually show other people's skeletons in the basement, not just the dead wife

I liked how they had a gamer and comic book geek be the expert of the supernatural stuff. Shame how he didn't appear more

I think I had that comic too, showed the backstory of Zee's boyfriend and his kite right?

yeah, they have this whole backstory that's barely even mentioned in the movie
but then again, being probably based on some earlier script, it contradicts some stuff in the movie too

>tfw no emo punk babysitter gf

I'm BR and yes, it was on theatres here. Watched it twice.
Heard it also got a theatrical run in France.

He did get the gothy chick though, right?

No. She was just trying to make Bones jealous, which didn't work making the last thing said in the show "Bones wait!"

That's a funny gif, mainly because I really did not see that coming for some reason. Good job.

Ever gotten your dick sucked by a house before?

Attached: AD851F94-5AF5-4593-94EF-90859ED963E9.jpg (416x312, 38.29K)

Pretty weird indeed

If anything, wish it got more love to try and save 2D. The animation was gorgeous.

If the issue was she was too fat to have kids then why didn't they just adopt?
Did adoption not exist in the 50s?

Lol, I dunno

Not a chance. That Curious George film also came out in 2006 and flopped. If Princess and the Frog couldn't revitalize 2D animation, a prequel to Bambi had even less chance

she hate kids, whe was use to only be a joke for them

unf

Any images?

One of my favorite character arch types/tropes is the nerdy older character who gives urban legend/video game knowledge

I can't remember his name, but he was working on a couple 3D projects, but he sorta fell of the face of the world. I bet it was because it was Loli and he got in trouble.

Fingers crossed

He made a 3D image of toddler Riley Anderson getting railed by some guy wearing a pink elephant mask and her mom helping out. 90% it was made with blender. Wish i could remember his name, but it's escaping me. It's kinda crazy how you were able to post that here and not get permaban.
