No

Is it that bad?
I'm pretty interested to see what happens.

Yes

It’s bad and never gets better.

Watch Battle for Mewni, know Star and Marco get together and call it quits.

Oh I really like it though
Now I dont know

All the interesting aspects that are brought up will be wasted, Marco's character changes almost entirely, Jackie will become irrelevant and you will be trapped in a love pentagon that will never feel satisfying for anyone. Some of the big fan artists even bemoaned the show, stating it wasted four years of their life.

I mean if anything finish it just so you have context on why Zig Forums still has daily threads for a show that ended a year ago.

>Now I dont know
Do it so you'll finish it, but know that it might not meet the expectations you may have after season 2.

On the flip side you got a decent little flurry of fanfiction writers who tried to do re-writes of the season that end up being at least somewhat interesting. Also lots of fan art and comics.

Watch it. As bad as it gets, I don't regret watching it. The shitshow is interesting, and there are still some good concepts in the last two season. It's mostly the ending that is irredeemable.

is it actually bad or only bad for insane shipfags?

Star Vs is one of those shows that has shipping wars the same way certain anime does. The shit flinging arguments you got on this board were carbon copies of stuff you could see on Zig Forums. As annoying and tiresome as the shipping was getting in those last two seasons I still believe that it's partly the reason why the show got two more seasons than it thought it was going to get.

It's just stupid rushed. By the time season four rolled around everybody knew who was going to win the Marcobowl and they were just tired of watching a dead horse get beat into mincemeat.

The finale should have been a two or three parter but instead you got a frantic single episode where multi-year long expected payoffs get a whole 15 seconds of time before they move onto the next thing.

As an example, Marco starts a relationship with another girl and their relationship is ended off screen with no explanation.

It's bad for everyone for a variety of reasons. It's just a poorly told story. And some insane shipping.

>Some of the big fan artists even bemoaned the show, stating it wasted four years of their life.
Got any names?

Absolutely not. I loved season 2 but 3/4 are ass. They don't follow up the story well at all.

Gravityfying and Chibicmps both complained about it on their public twitters last year. Area may have complained, but was probably satisfied with the ship results.

SVTFOE is a good example of the community being more engaged to the ideas of the show than the actual show was. Spawned interesting AUs and fan theories.

Heavily agree. I recall some of the post season 4 discussions and breakdowns about the political structure and history between the Butterfly and monster community being really interesting. People had more interesting ideas about Toffee and Eclipsa back in those days two before Eclipsa just because a SJW vehicle.

Bad

>Baddie hyped for two seasons basically one-shotted by hero at the end of the tv movie
>Poorly executed racism allegory that left no one satisfied
>Relationships hinted at or initiated and dropped for the sake of show drama and the final ship
>Blood Moon concept basically pointless
>Characters see a hard shift in the way they behave
>Earth almost totally abandoned for Mewni
>Sudden Game of Thrones: Mewni edition history inserted from a side book release that was hardly used until the final 3 episodes

Some bright spots were Tom being a good guy and several side characters being satisfying to watch. Besides that, Nefcy and her staff dropped the ball.

>>Earth almost totally abandoned for Mewni
I kind of disagree on this point. I thought it was at least a little interesting. I was OK with the idea that we leave earth when Marco goes chasing after Star and we then we spend time in Mewni.

You could still do that fish out of water thing that you got in the first two seasons but now it's Marco dealing with it.

The thing that pissed me off to no end was Marco just up and deciding to bail out for a reason that seemed arbitrary and stupid.

Toffee is the perfect example of the failure of the show. He spawned all sorts of theories:

>He's a radical revolutionary who wants to tear down the Butterfly monarch
>He's a former family friend of the Butterflies
>He's going to corrupt Marco since Marco is now part monster
>He's going to return to curse the Butterfly theory
>He's Eclipsa's/Moon's former lover turned bitter rivals

All that and instead he was just salty at the Butterfly family and had no connection and no real influence outside Battle for Mewni.

Fucking god damn. All that foreshadowing of Marco becoming Toffee. That scene in Battle for Mewni where you see him reflected in that coat hanger mirror thing? Plus the monster corruption and disappointment talk?

So much waste.

I had no problem with the switch on the fish out of water thing, but the way Marco dropped Earth for Mewni was way out of character. Marco's family even called him out on it.

Yes. Witness full scope of evil what Star is capable in end

I guess for me personally I wasn't sick of the shipping yet so I was willing to go with it for the sake of keeping that going. I would have loved it if they brought up his Neverzone adventuring days. "Star, i've been swinging swords and helping people for ages. Did you think I was going to be happy just being stuck on earth forever? No! I was going to go wandering after I finished High school anyway. If you honestly thought I wasn't going to hop dimensions to help my bestie then I'm a little surprised at you."

There are a few eps that are still in the S2 production cycle. Watch the next 2-4 episodes. It'll climax there and then you stop IMMEDIATELY!

VERY VERY bad. Retcons to lore (Eclipsa). Retcons to characters (Glossy). Retcons to powers and abilities (Peak Star). Character assasinations (Marco/Kelly/Jackie/Moon/River ect,. ect.).

Seriously. Just a single mention of how he's been at this longer than she has would have been neat.

No

Star commits genocide, Jackie becomes a dyke, Janna literally dies, Mina becomes a symbol of the Alt-right and Marco is not even a character anymore

The Eclipsa/Globgor arc goes absolutely NOWHERE

>Mina becomes a symbol of the Alt-right
That one was at least funny in how unexpected it was
