Relaunch the Batfamily

Batman and his line of books are in a slump. Pitch ideas on on to relaunch the line. I want Dawn of X level revitalization.
Hard mode options
Hard Mode option 1: Nothing that reduces "diversity". No killing or writing out any of any women, non-white, or LGBT characters.
Hard Mode option 2: Everybody who's currently dead stays dead. No bringing back Alfred.
Hard Mode option 3: Every currently existing in continuity and alive Batfamily member, including those not in current use, except the international heroes left over from Batman Incorporated, have to be featured somewhere.
Hard Mode option 4: Find ways to use those left over international characters.
For the curious, here's a probably incomplete list of current in continuity Batfamily members. Feel free to point out people I've missed so the requirements for 3. become more stringent.

>Warners literally asking for what to do next
Nah. Why to do is fire Bendis and King from the company all together or kill yourselves.

>Hard Mode option 1

Shit, OP. That is really hard. Ok I will try tho'.
Batwoman known also as Kate Kane is caught after her first appeareance as batwoman and put in Arkham for being insane. There she actually falls even deeper into madness, she makes herself a batsuit out of jumpsuit, she is screaming constantly that she's batman and flapping her fake-wings like a madwoman she is. When she escapes like every villains do, she hunts down batman for being imposter and kills every reporter, every psychiatrist and generally anybody who claims she isn't a real deal. Here.

I hate this drawing. Batman if he was drawn fully would be 8 feet tall with how poorly proportioned he is.

The Hard Mode options just make it shittier. Why would I do them? To prove myself to a bunch of strangers on a Laotian seal clubbing forum?
>Make a Batman ongoing that focuses far less on the Batfamily, more of a "monster of the week" type deal with some of his lesser-known rogues
>Other lines of books don't focus on the Batfamily, they focus on his villains. They've always been more popular
>Make a Poison Ivy ongoing that redeems her past the point of no return over the course of 100 issues
>Make a Harley Quinn ongoing where she kills all three Jokers over the course of it. Permanently.
>Two-Face ongoing where every decision is decided by an IRL coin toss. The plot writes itself.
>Another one that's just more "monster of the week." Each issue has three stories, each of them starring a rogue and what they did that day. One issue could be Zsasz, Killer Moth, and Mr. Freeze; another could be Onomatopoeia, Kite Man, and Rag Doll. Tries to flesh them out more and expand on their lore
>One more ongoing, starring Bane. Bill Wilson/CIA officially joins the DCU and is a supporting character

If the Warners are in this thread, I would like to tell them that I would like to see more of Guppy. Thank you in advance.

So nobody has any ideas? we're as creatively bankrupt as DC? Did King, Snyder, and Didio run things that far into the ground?

>Did King, Snyder, and Didio run things that far into the ground?

Yeah.

If you haven't figured it out yet, modern Batman is just a pissing contest to see who fucks up the hardest and forces a reboot. King won this round.

Can we increase the diversity by breaking Barbara's legs and getting handicap representation again?

But I did, user. About batvag. Am I nobody to you?

There's too many of them, that's the problem.
It feels wrong to have the tough, brooding guy that works alone most of the time have a small army of underlings at any given time.
Dick should be doing his own thing in Bludhaven. Jason should be doing his own thing as Red Hood. Tim can join one of the Titans teams, Damian should be the main Robin. Add in Barbara Gordon as Batgirl, and that's all. Everything else is unnecessary bloat.
Catwoman should be nowhere near the Batfamily. She is a criminal, and should be in jail. I don't mind if Batman irresponsibly fucks her once in a while, but it should be that and nothing more.

>Replace Bruce Wayne with Luke Fox.
>Erase the batfamily as a whole.
>Canonize Helena Wayne as the ONLY ROBIN.
>Make the batvillains a legit threat.

I wouldn't mind if Basil Karlo Clayface was redeemed, though. He could be fun as a hero.

>Get rid of all of them except Batman/Alfred/Dick/Barbara/Tim
>Catwoman exists but not part of "the family"
>Jason stays dead

Horrible.

Frankly speaking, Batman/Alfred duo is the best duo and should stay duo.

>Dawn of X

NOPE

Just bring the line into focus and limit crossovers.

Batman: the superhero stories.Mostly solo, but occasionally showing the BatFamily is okay if limited.

Detective: nothing but crime or mystery stories. solo Batman.

Batman & Robin Giant: one or two solo stories of the BatFamily, plus a Batman & Robin lead.

That's it for the monthlies. Limit Robin, Nightwing and Batgirl to one or two all-ages OGNs per year each. If someone gets it into their head to do a line-wide BatFamily event, it's now a done-in-one OGN that never touches the monthlies.

No one gets replaced, but the creators.

The main problem's not diversity. The main problem is that Batman as a hero has stopped being the underdog. He's too powerful; he's got infinite money, is super intelligent, is super good at martial arts, is super devoted, is super driven, etc., etc. The Joker, at the end of the day, is one fucking guy living on the fringe of society. He can kill people, sure, but it's always a stretch until he's caught and put away. He's got no chance of defeating the superhero network that Batman has put in place.

My proposal is: Destroy that. Have the Court of Owls or Ra's al Ghul or both or whoever take over Bruce Wayne's money in a non-apocalyptic way like No Man's Land, and take Batman and his team through an ordeal to take them back. Create a single enemy for a set of time, with many faces and aspects spread through Gotham City, and use the different books to have the members of Batman's team go after them.

Maybe you're right. Giving Batman a sidekick seems to be a slippery slope, they just keep adding more and more people vaguely connected to Bruce and next thing you know there's a fucking "Bat-Dog"

this

Completely get rid of the Batfamily. It's a stupid concept, it should only ever be Bruce and Alfred.

The hard mode options are why the books are in a slump in the first place. Batman's main weakness is supposed to be that he's more or less alone and outnumbered. Give him a supporting army of lesbians and redundant dipshits and that goes away.

Better idea, focus on someone else for a change.

>It's a stupid concept, it should only ever be Bruce and Dick.

FTFY

>it should only ever be Bruce and a fucking butler
>"Uhh, but he was a SAS and badass in his day!"
Fuck off.

Doesn't matter how old concrpt of Robin really is - it's a childish and even kinda disturbing idea that dark knight, the guy who dresses as a bat and is very violent, has a kid in very short pants as a sidekick. Batman evolved for all those years, from goofy detective in silly suit to grim and dark vigilante that operates in Gotham that is a place pretty much like wh40k Terra. Robin doesn't fit anymore.

Just make a book with all four Robins working together and make the focus their interactions instead of all that "training other Robins" shit.
Steph can come too.

Especially when Wayne Enterprises seems to have a R&D budget to rival NATO

Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, fucking.

A lot.

Ace the Bat Hound

>relaunch the Batfamily

OK, fine. Here's the problem. You took a character who in many respects doesn't belong in cape comics, being that he's a thinly-veiled ripoff of a pulp era character (the Shadow, for anyone not keeping up) and inherited many of that character's traits such as being a weird loner with a secret lair; one-man war on crime; bizarre cast of villains; Orientalism; etc, and somehow expected it would work when you surrounded him with a cast of colourful, upbeat capeshit oddballs. Lose the supporting cast.

>mentioning wh40k
This is an adult discussion, champ. I need you to step outside and play with some toys.

Hard to do when so much of the Batfamily have massive fanbases dedicated to them.

Other than Dick/Tim/Barbara, who in the group has a massive fanbase?

best bat family is no bat family, just batman and gordon giving him missions and alfred to oatch him up and be radio contact, robin just hangs out sometimes. None of this family ethic, batgirl and spoiler are just rival vigilantes that are just good enough to avoid capture by batman and sometimes work with him when their goals are neutral

Literally lol'd. Thank you, user, for making my day.

But jokes aside - it is disturbing tho'. Makes you wonder what else batman is doing with the boy.

So gay.

Jason, Cass, and Steph.

Why you didn't menctioned Bat-Mite?

He's part of bat family aswell.
