Disenchantment.
>Eric Andre
too forgettable to form, next thread please
Futurama in the past, but with very poor writing.
it’s alright but the core three don’t really have a good dynamic and aren’t super likable or interesting. the underlying plot seems potentially interesting but for some reason they refuse to acknowledge it. the backgrounds are nice
I like Eric Andre but I did not like him in this.
I thought it was fine. I'll watch the next season. But I can't remember anyone's name.
Not the worst thing, but not quality.
It has the pieces to be good, but it's like it won't commit to a solid plan. They try to have a story arc, but then they try to build a status quo that can be returned to for many episodes in a row.
the ideas are good but the writing is bad so it ends up being very dull.
I hated it. The two sidekicks could have been funny and interesting, but they fuckin weren't
It's dull. Basically the writers are all 50+ so not as clever or funny as they once were. The producers didn't give ANY notes (besides more feminism) or edit anything down. All the episodes are 26 minutes when they'd be much better off being 20. The timing is bad too, some of the jokes are good but held on too long, or set up poorly so you can appreciate them but they don't make you laugh.
The first 6 episodes of Season 1 are okay and then for some reason they stop telling jokes entirely.
Season 2 is slightly better; Episode 4 and Episode 8 are genuinely good and show what the show could be with younger, more talented writers, but overall, having 4 good episodes out of 20, doesn't make you a good show, but a shit one.
Anytime I watch it I always enjoy it. That being said it gets annoying how often it will bring up interesting story developments and then do nothing. Season 1 and 2 end in basically the same state. Bean is being taken away/has encountered her evil mom. It feels like very little actually is done story wise. Which is fine for a series like Futurama which only focused on character building and comedy really, but the attempt to have an overarching story here is weird because they barely do anything with it until the last couple of episodes of either season.
Also the characters are fucking terrible.
Elfo is annoying and inconsistent, sometimes he acts like Ralph, sometimes he acts like Fry or Milhouse, going from Happy Retard to Introspective Simp.
Luci is fine, he's basically the Bender of the show and him being a supernatural being gives the show more plot potential, the problem is that he's there (at least for the first 13 episodes) to make Bean evil, and two evil characters and one miserable isn't exactly a funny dynamic.
Bean is the worst character of all, she is incredibly privileged yet unaware and still despite the show showing us she is an awful person, we're still meant to care about her "struggles".
There's an episode where some ugly giant who literally everyone hates says Bean has it so tough and she's being sincere, nothing about the universe makes sense.
Bean has "arcs" like:
"Oh no, I have to get married... but actually I don't."
"Oh no, I have to go to a nunnery to straighten up... just kidding, imma tell everyone God's not real and then head out."
"Oh no, Mom's back and evil. Let's just meander for 4 unfunny episodes and kill her quietly off screen"
What the fuck is this show's endgame? Is Bean meant to be a role model? Because she NEVER faces consequences for her actions.
It's like if Bender or Master Shake had a rich dad who bailed them out after they'd gone on a crime spree.
King Zog is okay, he's had some funny moments like when he tried to get Gout.
Matt Berry Pig is the funniest/best character. Matt Berry Pig is... kino.
the animation is nice
I like it
Season 2 is definitely better than season 1 mainly because the episodes in S2 focus on the characters more.
They wasted so much time on Elfo's annoying annoying crush, I don't see how they recover,
It's just disappointing. It feels like each season just builds up to nothing.
Meh
If it wasn't for its creator it would've been forgotten even faster then it already has.
Shit. I gave it three episodes and couldn't any more.
I figure that's also the only reason it was automatically renewed up to 2021. Netflix really thought it was gonna be a hit.
Needs more Bean lewds.
It was extremely ok
I think the biggest problem was being story driven. All the episodes have to string together, and because of this, not a single one feels memorable.
I liked it
the show has plenty of lewd beans.
made it about 2.5 episodes in and dropped. just felt really shit in the same way simpsons is really shit
It's not we wanted but what we deserve
Liked season 1 a lot, season 2 was a little too all over the place, especially with steamland.
Will watch season 3 because I want to see where it goes and if Bean's dad heals or not.
i was honestly looking forward to see this show but when it eventually came out...it felt like it was just groening playing it safe again.
Steamland was fucking terrible.
Season 2 was pretty bad overall but it had the show's highest highs too.
I'll be watching Season 3 too, because I'm holding out hope it will improve and also I'm just fascinated with how many mistakes this show makes.
Gave up on it really quick when it was just a platform for Stronk Womyn Better Than Men bullshit agenda crap. Futurama's Leela was a far superior and humanized character who was allowed to both fail and succeed whereas this bitch was just Stronk and perfect, hence boring. I'm done with Groening.
i like it. second season felt kinda poor
>The producers didn't give ANY notes (besides more feminism)
i hope you’re just joking
>Disenchantment
Honestly when the background art is probably the most redeeming factor of the show it feels like a lot of wasted talent went into this.
Background artwork is like the only talent in the industry that doesn't get watered down in the process of studios trying to make things as cheap as possible for some reason. It's common.
Needs to show tits.
