I decided to create this so we could have a civil and honest discussion about the show. So let’s avoid shitposting and derailing as much as possible.
>Why do you like the show or atleast follow it?
>What’s to be expected from season 2?
>What are your favorite characters or magical creatures?
>why do you believe Hilda and Johanna are prime family material?
>Potential plot points for the Marras or the Librarian?
>Have you read the books and what are your thoughts on them?
Hilda
Aye, here’s a tired Hilda.
I still don't get why the Korean guy turned his Loli rape porn comic into a rainbow six ad.
Is it a Korean thing where you lose civil rights when you spend a week without playing Starcraft 2, Dota or competitive eSports games?
I heard he just likes R6 along with other unpopular games like Heroes of the Storm. To be fair with him, Korean artists are generally fucking weird.
>Why do you like the show or atleast follow it?
It's a finely executed SoL fantasty show with an adorable protagonist. It's hard to beat that.
>What’s to be expected from season 2?
I expect storylines with higher stakes. Perhaps figuring out what the Marras are. Maybe Hilda would have her first crush. I think we can be certain about progress with the growing up theme overall.
>What are your favorite characters or magical creatures?
I think my favorite human character, at least second to Hilda, is David, for I find him constantly amusing and almost as cute as Hilda. On the magical side, it would have to be the Raven or Alfur. I like how grounded they are, and I especially love the latter's earnest mature.
>why do you believe Hilda and Johanna are prime family material?
Johanna is obvious very caring for her child and seems to take to being a single mother very well, which is far from being a easy feat. She is also very attractive, perfect wife material. Hilda is a great kid. The archetypal heroine with a thirst for adventure and compassion for all. It's hard to hate that. Perfect daughterfu.
>Potential plot points for the Marras or the Librarian?
Aside from what I already said about the Marras, I could see they being the henchwomen (henchteens?) To a greater evil, which must be pretty bad, since it's a shortlist to be more evil than a teenage girl. I could see the Librarian being a secret witch. Maybe she's some kind of a protector for the city.
>Have you read the books and what are your thoughts on them?
No, but they seem fun.
I heard that it's a trend there to make it as like your comic is going to a particular direction, then making it out to be a ad for a game you like.
Zig Forums doesn't talk about perfect shows, sorry.
Ain’t that the truth.
>Why do you like the show or atleast follow it?
I liked the cute art style, but the show itself is also very cute and wholesome
>What’s to be expected from season 2?
Idk. It’s been so long since I watched. Is that Weather Lady still an issue?
>What are your favorite characters or magical creatures?
I love the wood guy
>why do you believe Hilda and Johanna are prime family material?
Idk
>Potential plot points for the Marras or the Librarian?
Deep lore
>Have you read the books and what are your thoughts on them?
No, but I hate the art style
Hilda is the cutest character in the history of animation. It is impossible to be any more perfect
>Why do you like the show or atleast follow it?
Cosyness.
>What’s to be expected from season 2?
Will probably just continue loosely following the books. Specifically the "troll" arc. With a few novel filler episodes inbetween as was the case with season 1. (and altered to have an excuse to use the extra characters)
>What are your favorite characters or magical creatures?
Hilda, duh. And Alfo is I guess a fun inversion of the manic pixie, err, pixie accessory in this time being the "straight man".
Wood-whatshisname-guy seems pretty chill. He is specifically so chill he seems kinda alien, which is a perfect representation of "fae" like creatures, which are often just portaited as "pointy eared humans" or just "plain evil".
>why do you believe Hilda and Johanna are prime family material?
Cosyness?
>Potential plot points for the Marras or the Librarian?
I think that the Marras were fine just is and its a mistake to overuse them just because they have become fapbait. There is elegance in not overusing things. I honestly probably wouldn't really use them again, although they may pop out in the background as cameos, or used as sources of information for other creatures in their "domain".
The librarian would probably be the equivelant of a search engine for all this "dark arts". Which is more quaint than Hilda using a search engine, or just going to the library and "finding a book".
Would probably do the obvious reveal you can see coming from 200km away, that she is a witch, but in a pagan rather than "evil" way. Her help may be employed in a filler episode to help fix something.
>Have you read the books and what are your thoughts on them?
I like 'em. First one will probably feel a bit weird for those coming from the show
Honestly can't tell if this is fanart or actually drawn by Luke
It’s by Luke himself, I just thought it would make for a good reaction image.
Are the Marras really intended to be fapbait? I generally agree with you but that idea seems bizarre.
I Doubt it, unless one of the crew members are literally into that type of shit.
Huh, I guess that make sense.
Fapbait was probably the wrong word. Fap-fetihised more like it. Not by the makers but by Zig Forums.
This can create a fanbase that wants to constantly see more and more of them whilst for me, using them less makes them more alien.
Its sort of like the people who wish over the garden wall has 10 seasons because they wanted mooooore, vs those who understand that it being a small, self contained thing makes it more magical. (but you can have new original things like it)
I'm a little curious to why we've never heard her Dad mentioned.
Got anymore of these?
It's weird how quality that comic was though. I was reading it expecting it to be edgy porn, but Hilda barely gets hurt and the focus is on her being saved. I thought that was a nice bait and switch.
In an interview, Luke Pearson stated that he wanted to keep it ambiguous or atleast quiet for the time being.
I have this gif.
Yo guys, check this elephant I found near Trollberg.
decided to finally give it a watch few days ago because so many people on Zig Forums seemed to like it despite me not actually reading the threads or what the show was about.
it was ok. i kept expecting some kinda swerve where everything was in hilda's imagination and her mum was just going along with it to help her cope with some sorta trauma.
but the wacky world of trolls and elves and giants turned out to be literal and real. it's still a good show but i probably won't stick around for a second season since it's aimed more at kids.
my disappointment makes me hessitant to try amphibia and owl house now.
Disappointment is how I feel about all current cartoons.
Kids love it, I find it heart warming and so comfy.
Might watch again later today.
I don’t know what you expect from it, but it’s still a fun series.
I find to be pretty disappointing, but Amphibia is well-executed.
>Why do you like the show or atleast follow it?
I dig the atmosphere, music, colors, and tone of the show.
>Why I stopped watching
I just didn't like Hilda herself. She's too flawless, which make her unrealistic and not relatable at all. She's acts the most adult in all situations despite being like, 10?
Anyway, good show. Certainly a step in the right direction.
*Owl Houe3 to e disappointing*
Amphibia is a pretty entertaining show, also Anne is a cute.
