I would say that hating it became popular.

The brought in female writers after season 2, those caused season 3 to suck which lead to less people coming back for season 4

Season3 sucked balls, fandom is pure cringe and no one likes it now

Wanna say that season 2 had this build up to a deep lore thing, and season 3 and 4 proved that there wasn't ever going to be a pay off for that extended lore.

I approve of dropping the over arching lore completely, but clearly it was a jab at the audience who were invested with it.

Viewership on every television show tapers off. Check the numbers. Most shows will show the same tendency.

I still like it, I still watch it, but it's no longer the must-see show it was during seasons 1~2.5. Can't put my finger on any specific thing, but season 1 felt genuinely creative and smart, while season 3 and beyond felt like they were desperately trying to convince you that they're smarter than everyone. "Getting stuck in their own ass" really does apply here.
I would say it needs fewer writers, but they'd probably hand the show over to the worst ones. I'm more curious about Solar Opposites than I am stoked for the rest of season 4.
