Left a dirty in my mouth, gore for the sake of gore's sake. It's like the writers realised how poorly received these movies have been. However instead of improving and listening to what's been said, they just shat on their ball and took it home.
it dropped the ball pretty heavy at the end - stupid niggles for me were batman and the kryptonite sword hurtin' darksied, harley survivin' so long in the battle, "paraDooms" felt lazy and only existed for the kryptonite weakness to be able level their playing field, and ultimately the endpoint of their story just kinda dropped off - i get what they were tryin' to do but it fell a little flat. still, better'n any of the arrowverse 'events' they've tried to do, 2 parts rock of ages, 1 part futures end, 1 part terror of trigon, strain through attempted-endgame onto ice in a cheap glass = apokolips war
didn`t watch it because those movies have all been ruined by sjws now as well
These movies are bad for way more reasons than identity politics
yeah an decrease in budget and generic plots are also a problem but I honestly could accept that if the sjw aspects, especially the censorship of female designs and the "women strong, men weak" stuff wasn`t so dominate
John Constantine the movie, lucky for me I actually like John.
This movie sucked, but more than that it made me disgusted. I've never liked the Nu52 animated movies, I've always thought they were pretty terribly written and overly "edgy," but I didn't think I'd see a movie where a homicidal Superman would demand the Justice League mount a preemptive military strike on Apokolips, everyone would agree, and then multiple prolonged cuts of DC heroes and heroines being graphically eviscerated, eaten, and quartered. It's like the panel of Ultimate Blob eating Ultimate Wasp but 20 or so times.
After some really dumb shit with Trigon becoming good and agreeing to trap himself forever for no raisin, everyone (including robo scorpion zombie Mera and body horror Starfire) sits in front of the destroyed Titans Tower while Batman basically says the earth is fucked no matter what they do now. They all star into the middle distance and contemplate group suicide when Constantine finally convinces Flash to just smash the reset button and make all of this completely fucking pointless.
There's other shit to harp on: overuse of bad CG, some extremely questionable explosion effects in a very important scene, the fucking hilariously stupid look of the ParaDoom army, but really I'd kinda made up my mind at seeing Mera's head get ripped open and Batgirl get Resident Evil'd.
Will they stop making movies now? This is all i have year in year out :(
This is my exact reaction and i'm just fucking baffled beyond words that there are people praising this shit. I'm legit fucking confused beyond words. It's almost distressing. What the fuck did i just watch. Why could someone at WB okay this, let alone produce? This shit does not bode well for the future.
No. They just ended the New 52 Animated Universe.
They are making a new animated Superman movie
I get the feeling that the people in charge knew this was gonna end in a reboot so they just didn't care.
That seriously doesn't the amount of bad taste that went into this.
It definitely seems like someone in charge has a ryona fetish that got put in the movie.
So fucking many women getting torn apart on camera while screaming
Truly this is the Ultimate Marvel of DC animation, but without any of the good parts.
>robo scorpion zombie Mera
I'm sorry, I need to make a retraction. Mera is not a robo scorpion zombie. She is a robo SNAKE zombie. It's Martian Manhunter that was a robo scorpion zombie.
My mistake.
This became apparent to me during Death of Superman where Wonder Woman appearance in the movie was just her getting beaten up by Doomsday in a very graphic manner for the hell of it.
You know, watching this movie made me think. I became of DC Comics because of Superman: The Animated Series. The DCAU cartoons had charming characters and well though-out plots. That's what hooked me in and made me fall in love with these characters.
But if i had known these characters through this? I wouldn't give a rat ass to DC.
Last movie was feminist propaganda like everything else dc does these days
You'll probably love it, it's mostly women being torn apart by monsters
She got a worse beating than Superman when you get right down to it, because at least Clark was evenly matched.
>outlives most characters
>goes out like champ
>calls Constantine a pom
Yeah I'm thinking it's alright. Best parts were with the Squad.
To me it feels more like whoever was involved in the production of this movie was letting out frustration and agitation at the audience. There's a distinct form of malice at play here, as if the writers blame us for mostly pirating their movies and having nothing positive to say about them (because let's face it, there's not much positive to say in hindsight).
I've pirated every single one of these movies and I regret nothing. Maybe DC will produce something with more heart and soul next time. I'll buy their movies if that day ever comes.
Well to be fair the DCAU was unusually good on average, high tier cartoons overall. So most tries aren't going to measure up.
Darkseid needed to be a more physical threat
Same. I can't even imagine spending money for this choppy bullshit.
KING SHARK: I'M A SHARK! I'M A SHARRRRKKK! SUCK MY DICKKK!
CONSTANTINE: ok
>that scene where Superman was pummeling Darksied and yelling at him
Was that their best take cause his voice had zero emotion in it
I liked it.
Glad i'm not the only who thought that scene was off
This. Death of Superman and Reign were even well received, people wanted more of that, not whatever the fuck this is. Is it genuinely that hard to just get a writer who cares? Even if they aren't good, they'll work for cheaper with better results. What the actual hell is DC doing
