Honestly, I think everyone is overthinking the meta jokes. Its not "haha, lore is for nerds, we're a comedy show with no plot. Evil morty is never coming back". Its more a meta joke about a writing style and the concept of stories.
(It's also an excuse to have a trailer full of things that will never come up in show, a rather clever move imo)
I'd be very surprised if evil Morty never came back, because you can do some cool things with the character and they do seem to like big plots, its just not something they do full time.

You never know how staff and script changes happen in these short periods. If they squeaked a virus joke in there, this couldn’t have been done more than a month ago. Lot of time for staff to get the boot

It's been a long time since I watched the show but I swear watching new clips Rick sounds so different compared to older seasons, not that it's a different VA and more like he's phoning it in a bit

You know, the funny thing is, is that the creator of Piss Christ was Catholic and meant it as a commentary on how religion was disrespected or cheapened by commercialism/crassness/etc.
The fact that it became a big focal point for the right is weird in that context.

Still, the artist wasn't doing it to make some dumb statement like "haha religion dumb"; there was a deeper meaning there from a Christian who wanted to say something.

There's less of a sense of him being drunk to the point of near unconsciousness while talking; That and Morty's constant stuttering did wear old after awhile and toning them down helped a lot.

People are saying this is the seasons version of Intergalactic Cable, even the show itself to an extent, but its synopsis and structure was more of a sequel/continuation of Total Rickall.

This. I still look forward to the next episodes, and the finales, and I don't really care what they do in-between. Either way it's cool to watch Rick and Morty do cool shit.

The problem with Rick and Morty is that it seems to now have run in this pattern of mostly mediocre episode with 1 or 2 great episodes and 1 fantastic one.

I didn't think of that, and I like it.

I dunno, I liked the first 5 of this season. They weren't all amazing, but even the weaker episodes (The Dragon one and the Heist one) were pretty good.

I loved it, but just noticing this weird comparison people are constantly forcing when there is an already way better and similar one.
