ITT: things cartoons parody the most
but for some fucking reason the episode title is always a parody of Journey to the Center of the Earth
you know when they call it "journey to the center of xxx", they were probably thinking of "voyage to the bottom of the sea"
>For sci-fi
Star Wars, Star Trek, The Matrix
>For anime
DBZ, pokemon, Sailor Moon
>For public domain
Moby Dick, Huckleberry Finn, Frankenstein
>For fantasy
Lord of the Rings
>For video games
A composite of FPS shooters like Halo/call of duty/medal of honor, If there's a fighting game it's almost always a street fighter or mortal kombat spoof. Platformers will always be mario based
Other media commonly spoofed/parodied:
Rashomon
Magnificent 7
Oceans 11, for heists
It's a wonderful Life.
Dungeons and Dragons (where they'll likely go 'inside' the game or just really immerse themselves in it)
Akira bike scene
>catched
Groundhog day didn't invent time loop.
It wS twilight zone
Saturday Night Fever.
OP, post five examples of cartoons parodying Groundhog Day
I loved the Tiny Toons episode
which is also an entirely different story unrelated to traveling through a human body.
I’ve seen at least two cartoons parody this.
parodies of games are mostly classics, even the glitch techs show is just full of references to games the millennial crew played in the 90s
but for some fucking reason the episode title is always a parody of Journey to the Center of the Earth
The "Character thinks they are the only person in the world, only to discover that the rest of the citizens are just staying home or traveled somewhere"
I've seen it in Johnny Bravo, Jimmy Neutron, I Am Weasel (for the series finale of all things) SpongeBob, Beavis and Butthead, Gumbal etc...
What is the most obscure parody episode a cartoon has done?
c'mon now guys
Just too much
Nosferatu in Spongebob
Protip: if you think it's something cartoons "parody the most" but you can't name three examples, you're probably imagining things.
Journey to the Center of My Ass
More of a cameo than a parody
beatles and yoko, maybe the worst because it's too predictable
>it's a "what if the main character was never born" episode
>Chrismas Carol
Flintstones, Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny
I hate it. fucking hate it.
Power Puff Girls having the "Beat Alls" was funny.
Not OP, but they based an entire show around it called Looped.
>BUT HEY....WHAT IF....RIGHT... GET THIS...
> EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE ARE ACTUALLY BETTER OFF!
I think I'm seeing that twist version appear more and more
>Christmas episode
>Christmas Carol parody
A Muppets Christmas Carol can't be topped.
>Adulthood is when you realized the character of Rita is godawful and the whole plot of the movie goes downhill when they justify trying to "win her" to undo the curse, when really should have been about just improving yourself and saving the groundhog.
Regular Show was filled with niche references. They did a episode that was a spoof of The Wizard
>it's a Taxi Driver reference
>it's a Scarface reference
>it's a Shining reference
Crazy how many kids show like to reference these movies
>The Wizard
>Niche
Not really, it was a big advertisement for Super Mario Bros. 3, was the movie debut of Tobey Macguire and had a review by AVGN
>Formerly titled Star Wars: From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker
What?
Sneed reference
