Five mutant teenagers – Danielle Moonstar (Blu Hunt), who can create illusions; Illyana Rasputin (Anya Taylor-Joy), who can open portals to the hellish dimension Limbo; Rahne Sinclair (Maisie Williams), who can transform into a wolf; Sam Guthrie (Charlie Heaton), who can fly at supersonic speeds; and Roberto Da Costa (Henry Zaga), who can absorb and manipulate solar energy - are captured and taken to a psychiatric hospital managed by Dr. Cecilia Reyes (Alice Braga), who claims to want to help them control their powers and reintegrate into society.
The New Mutants experience visions of their greatest fears – Dani's father was murdered by a supernatural entity known as "Demon Bear", Illyana was a child sex slave, Rahne was accused of being a demon and nearly executed by her community, Sam caused a fatal accident at the mine where he worked, and Roberto accidentally burned his girlfriend – and are tormented by monstrous “Smiley Men”. They attempt to leave, only to realize that they are prisoners and that Dr. Reyes is collecting and experimenting on their DNA and plans to kill them afterwards. They attempt to fight, but Dr. Reyes overpowers them and reveals herself a mutant capable of projecting force fields. She prepares to kill them when Demon Bear arrives and devours her.
The New Mutants learn that Demon Bear is manipulating Dani into creating illusions of their fears to feed off their psychic energy. They overcome their demons, Dani frees herself from Demon Bear's influence, and Illyana ventures into Limbo to retrieve a powerful “Soulsworld”, which she uses to destroy Demon Bear once and for all. During the battle, Illyana’s stuffed dragon Lockheed is brought to life. The New Mutants then flee before authorities arrive to investigate the hospital’s destruction, vowing to stay together and protect each other from whoever comes after them.
I want Lockheed to be an actual alien dragon that the X-MEN find when going on space adventures, not this retarded shit, fuck off, I hope Deadpool 3 confirms that Deadpool killed the entire Fox-Marvel universe

What's up with the smiley men?

You can't always have what you want.

>Illyana was a child sex slave Fuck this shit, I'm out
Jeremiah Cruz
They are apparently manifestations of how Illyana perceived the men who sexually abused her as a child. Note that they all have Russian mafia tattoos.
Yes. They have a (very chaste) kiss and everything.
Cooper Rivera
god fucking dammit another one of my ideas is done by someone else because my lazy ass never gets things out. i literally had this exact idea for a comic when i played silent hill 3 almost 5 years ago. i hate myself. fuck.
Josiah White
That's pretty dark.
Weird to think that Feige is actually considering folding this into the MCU.
William Cox
>Illyana was a child sex slave This gonna be weird and honestly not in a good way.
Henry Richardson
It's done fairly subtly. She basically says when she was a child bad men took her away from her family and did bad things to her, and when she grew up and her powers appeared she did bad things to them.
Carter Diaz
When they say "fold it into the MCU" they just mean they'll recycle some of the actors on the cheap if the movie is received well. We already know that Feige tried to get Patrick Stewart to come back and play Professor X in an MCU X-Men movie.
Easton Price
>Feige tried to get Patrick Stewart to come back and play Professor X in an MCU X-Men movie. Good to see Patrick Stewart has at least some standards
Brayden Clark
>We already know that Feige tried to get Patrick Stewart to come back and play Professor X in an MCU X-Men movie.
If you believe that you're a genuine retard, seriously
Ian Baker
Stewart confirmed it himself.

>“I met with Kevin Feige a couple of months ago and we had long, long conversations. And there have been moves and suggestions, which include Charles Xavier.” It’s heartening to hear that Feige is already diligently working on bringing the mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that he’s willing to incorporate previous iterations of the characters from the confounding Fox version of the franchise. (It also makes us wonder who else Feige has reached out to.) But sadly, it doesn’t seem like Stewart is ready to get back in the game. “Here’s the problem… If we had not made ‘Logan,’ then yes, I would probably be ready to get into that wheelchair one more time and be Charles Xavier,” Stewart told the outlet. “But ‘Logan’ changed all that.” Stewart then shared an anecdote about how the first time he saw the film was at the premiere at the Berlin Film Festival and for the very end he and Hugh Jackman were holding hands and sobbing. “”We were moved by the story. We were moved by one another. We were moved by the movie. But we also both made the decision that we were saying goodbye to our characters as well,”
Jacob Ortiz
They met but it was never to get him to play Xavier in the MCU, it was to discuss the character and probably Feige wanting to talk about Star Trek
Literally show me where it says that they met to get him to play Xavier again
James Edwards
>Villain gets killed before the third act to be replaced by a different one They're at least setting up the Demon Bear earlier in the story, but has this sort of plot turn ever actually worked? To me at least, it always feels dumb. A story is defined in many ways by the nature of its conflict, an when you switch out villains, it in subtle ways changes that nature.
Samuel Roberts
>Illyana was a child sex slave
Yo, what?
Thomas Harris
Wasn't she raped by demons in Limbo as a child in the comics?
Brayden Cook
Wasn't it implied in Age of Apocalypse that Sugar Man sexually assaulted her?
