JOKER 80TH ANNIVERSARY First Look

>On June 9, some of the most talented names in comic books will gather together to pay tribute to the Clown Prince of Crime in a special 100-page must-have collector’s item. And DC wants to give you a first look at some of the stories that will make up this landmark issue.

>“WHAT COMES AT THE END OF A JOKE?”
Spinning out of the pages of his best-selling run on Batman, series writer James Tynion IV tells the origin story of the sensational new character Punchline! With stellar art from the acclaimed art team of Mikel Janín and Jordie Bellaire.

>“BIRTHDAY BUGS”
The Joker turns birthday clown in this tale by Tom Taylor and Eduardo Risso. When The Joker goes to the home of an accomplice that did him wrong, he finds the man’s young son sitting alone picking apart bugs on his stoop. The boy assumes that the Joker is the clown for his birthday party and tells him that no one is coming. The Joker finds this unacceptable and goes around the neighborhood, “convincing” families to attend the birthday party and make it the best day he’s ever had. As for the boy’s father, he’s in for the worst moment of his life!

>“KILL THE BATMAN”
In a story set in a not-so-distant future the Joker has finally made his dream come true of killing the Batman and we see the all the DC universe in mourning. But this act doesn’t provide the catharsis the Joker thought it would…he needs an encore…something at Batman’s public memorial perhaps? Written by acclaimed screenwriter Gary Whitta, popular writer/podcaster Greg Miller and rising star comic artist Dan Mora.

These sound like they could be really good, especially no.2
Is it weird that Joker posters exist in DC? By this point everyone in America must have a relative burned/gassed/shot to death by him

Punchline has at least another two in her room so apparently they're a thing.

Hm. I like her design fine, but the white face is an improvement. I guess they just didn't wanna make her look too Harley-derivative, despite the whole concept being Harley: The Sequel.

>”Fuck you, dad! I’m going to move out and hook up with The Joker!”

It looks like it's a random dude, but I wonder where did she get the Joker toxin.

Oh fuck I might touch myself to this

From the looks of it she’s a Joker fangirl to the extreme, what with the posters and such on the wall. How much do you think Joker Toxin goes for on the black market? At the very least a cop swiped some from the evidence locker to sell for a quick buck

That’s actually a very real thing as of Under The Hood & Black Mirror. For all their autism, Batrogues are both A) ridiculuously lethal and B) Mythologically destructive. Cause of that, actual mob bosses like Black Mask buy-in expensive crates of missing Batrogue weaponry to use as emergency scorched-earth contingencies, & insane cults like Mirror House auction off stuff like that to the highest bidder. Joker’s had at least 5 different cults across canon, so there’d be plenty of opportunities for determined bormies to get their hands on toxin like James Gordon did. It was basically the focus of Black Mirror

>be fangirl
>get to fuck the object of your lust
That doesn't happen every day.

I’m sure Joker has stockpiles of old gag weapon shit from past crimes lying around somewhere. He probably won’t use any of it, because Joker hates stale material. Unless it’s a flag gun, acid flower, or Joker toxin, safe bet is that he made it only to use once

>his dream come true of killing the Batman
Um, what?

So is there a possibility that the Punchline for the comic is the same as this one

No because we’ve already seen Joker accepting her advances

I hope she becomes the abusive one.

>not allowed to show attractive female characters or cleavage in comics anymore
>only males are allowed to be portrayed sexual goy
modern comics are so lame. liberals have transformed and censored so much they are't even recognizable

The fuck are you talking about?

Ignore him. He’s an autist who does this in every comic thread with a woman. Hell hes not even making sense because Punchline has huge fun bags

>no good writers
what did DC mean by this

That doesn't really mean anything with the Joker, one of the first times he tried to kill Harley for real he mentions that its because he has feelings for her. There was this whole thing were he has a relationship with a woman and has sex with her, then while stating how much he loves her strangles her to death

Not that user but I don't think this will be the case.

Yeah but remember that Joker eventually got bored with Harley and turned on her for trying to change him.

Then most of Zig Forums would probably flip on her...which is really just inevitable anyway

I'd love to flip her if you know what I mean.

I think you are deluding yourself if you think the Joker can actually love someone. At best when he goes to kill her she will let him do it as the ultimate show of her love.

By all means, think whatever you want.

which is why Punchline is a bullshit OC.

My opinion has 40 years of history that shows the only thing the Joker has ever cared about is Batman, and he spends his life trying to break him, destroy his moral standing, and ultimately kill him.

Are we sure she isn't Japanese? Because this looks like that teenage prostitute deal.

>I think you are deluding yourself if you think the Joker can actually love someone.
You’re really hoping on that. Tidbits of his former self do sometimes peek through, warped as though they may be. Like that time he raised a gorilla like a son with actual care. In this case it’s him finding someone with the same point of view. Will he hurt her? Probably, but apparently she’s cool with that. Crazies can find other crazies. Natural Born Killers for example

Not him but his fixation on Batman is because of two reasons; the perfect brooding straight man to his performances, and desperately wanting a best friend to admit the futility of it all because they both went through horrible things. The latter might be a similar case with Punchline, who appears to understand a similar philosophy as Joker. That’s really all Joker wanted besides attention, for people to stop kidding themselves

Unironically canon, Black Mirror had Joker tip off Grayson Batman to the fact someone was impersonating him because they were using stale, barely lethal Joker toxin, the kind of shitty amateur poison he’d only use when he was starting out

Punchline does have more in common with Batman than Harley ever did. The dark hair and blue eyes (most of the time, it's wildly inconsistent for such a new character), the preference of fists and sharp objects over more practical weapons, the quiet/deadpan disposition... It lacks any of the depth his relationship with Batman has, but would maybe be enough to make him think she'd be a decent straight man.

New suit?
