The proposal arc

Both movies' sequels gave their male leads the same arc. Who did it better? Frozen or Tangled?

Is that even a question? Tangled. Kristoff was little more than a foil to Anna and an anti-trope device.

Eugene's character arc was central to the arc of the story.

>same arc
I don't recall Eugene being reduced to a pathetic, bumbling oaf for cheap laughs

Don't lie to us op, you know damn well which one did it better. You just want to shit on Frozen.

Which is understandable, Frozen 2 was garbage and worse than the first in every way, but just be honest next time.

To be fair, Tangled had 3 seasons to develop theirs.

Is this or the coomer thread, m8, pick your poison

Kristoff had a much better arc in the deleted scenes, they got over the engagement part at the beginning and the rest of the movie dealt with him lying to Anna and himself to hide how much he hated his life at the castle.

Tangled on the basis that Eugene actually has a personality.

Eugene by far

But I still think the show misused him. Cassandra is the series' golden girl and credit where credit is due, she's fantastic. But the focus given to her and Rapunzel's substantial development came with a relative lack thereof for Eugene
It's telling that in his first song in the pilot movie Eugene is telling us that he's basically finished his journey, and for most of the show he really doesn't have much to do other than his pending proposals. Yeah there's the Dark Kingdom stuff and Edmund and all of that but honestly that all feels like an afterthought
I don't think it hurts the show, but it's one of those areas they could have made even better if they'd had more storylines like mentoring orphans or dealing with the people of his past (he never follows up with Stalyan like Rapunzel does, the Baron is a joke, etc)

Frozen is one of my favorite movies but 2 is bad, and so is Kristoff's arc

This is much better than Lost in the woods and the proposal scene:

I can't believe they didn't even give them a duet in the final cut.

And then you have this:

They would obviously get back together at the end, but overall it was much, much better than what we got.

Kristoff deserved more. Anna deserved more.

Agree

I bet all the Frozenfags are gonna abandon the coomer thread for this one, then whine about the Tangledfags

then they shouldn't have tried to be in Elsa's movie, and that's what it was, the Elsa show with a bunch of useless tag-alongs, not even worthy of receiving the reward at the end.

such is the life of the tangledfags

They should have balanced the movie better.

Kristoff had one too, they just forgot to bring it back for the sequel.

>Elsa's movie
what do you mean?

Well yeah, it's called Frozen. That's Elsa.
If it was called Normal or Smelly it could be about Anna or Kristoff.

Anna isn't smelly.

I mean Elsa fully intended to do everything herself, reluctantly decided to allow some followers, then changed her mind halfway through and shoved them away anyway
the big climax was all about Elsa, the memory of the parents went to Elsa and Elsa alone, and she even got to ditch her old unwanted job on her spare of a sister.
I don't know why it was advertised as an ensemble movie

Eugene got rejected for 3 years.
Kristoff messed up his attempts for a weekend but still got a "yes" on his first real try.
I'd say Kristoff is the clear winner here.

Well, to Frozen II's credit, the art/animation was a much higher quality. Everything was pretty much better EXCEPT the story. God, how can you fuck up so bad for a sequel? The story ruined Frozen II.

You're saying THIS girl is an attention hog??

Each failed proposal episode of Raps and Eugene turned out their relationship development and strengthening their loves to each other throughout the three season timeframe, fulfilling “years and years of asking” narration of Eugene at the end of movie and delivers the greatest final proposal. youtube.com/watch?v=e2JEweN_HjA

While Kristoff’s proposals are just like pop-up jokes and nothing importance to the plot and character development, not to mention he was left in the woods.

There's nothing fair about it. Frozen deserved a series more than a forgotten old movie about le feet girl

Speaking of deleted scenes/songs.
Why did we get a shitty version of Life's too short in the OST, sung by Kristen Anderson-Lopez, when there was an actual recording of Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell available?

>Eugene got rejected for 3 years
Eugene just got rejected once a day before Raps coronation. Raps just asked for him to promise her being patient until she’s ready. Even Raps has tried to propose back to surprise him.

He also got semi-rejected at the caravan.

There's multiple completely voiced scenes that would have vastly improved the movie, the bottleneck in all cases just seems to be "we just didn't animate it", so the blame should be placed there

Don't bully Tangledfriends, they have much less hope than we do...

I know that, I'm complaining about the version we got in the Official Soundtrack, the "Life's too short (Outtake)". I don't understand why they didn't use the version recorded by the voice actresses instead of the one sung by the composer, which is objectively worse.

An excuse to post these pics and their respective songs, I guess.
