Goopy Gear and Foxy were chosen primarily because the team behind the shorts were expecting backlash with Bosko and the team just resented Buddy. Their dynamic is pretty similar to Kermit and Fozzie at the beginning of The Muppet Movie where they're performers down on their luck and get into hairy scenarios
Duck Dodgers won't be making a appearance in the shorts. Because Warner and HBO are in talks of a Duck Dodgers continuation series aimed for "Teens and Young Adults"
Eric Bauza slowly gets better with Bugs. They also took a page from the older shorts and based some of the adversaries Bugs has to face on current celebrities. I remember seeing test footage of Bugs fighting a moody ghost that looks like Billie Ellish.

So White is being touted as the "female lead" for the shorts. The team expects backlash for the use of the character and the shorts mainly revolve around her being placed in fairy tales and tricking and mainly inflicting violence on the main antagonist.
