hmm, there's still a good mix of comfy/melancholy in the later seasons. I'm guessing it's the heavier focus on story continuity that you're not a fan of. In that case I would include season 7 as well, because it didn't become really continuity focused until season 8 - going by production order.

it was unwatchable by season 4 with all the screeching/shipping/pointless lore baiting. I wanted a kid warrior on adventures with building story lore and the idea was teased at us at best and was never fulfilled.

>I'm guessing it's the heavier focus on story continuity that you're not a fan of.
Adventure Time never developed a heavy focus on story continuity outside the miniseries

Dude, we have this same tread almost on a daily basis. It's time for let it die already. I also wanted this .
It's been almost 10 years.

See adventure time mostly focuses on countinly episodic character driven narrative you're wrong the lore is just a backdrop
What are you talking about this series peaked at the comet episode and s6 background character episodes are good AT have never been about cohesive plot watch the show

I never posted anything about AT here
>Its been 10 years
Not an argument and that's the release date not the finale

season 8 was 2/3 miniseries + 2 episodes setting up those miniseries + 4 episodes on fern's arc.

I agree with you in general, but it was definitely more tightly focused on story continuity in seasons 8/9, with Fern/Gumbald/Islands/Elements.

All of your post are isolated cases not the main plot of the entire series also comfy AT images god this show have the best backgrounds and still images

> there's still a good mix of comfy/melancholy in the later seasons.
No, there really isnt.
>I'm guessing it's the heavier focus on story continuity that you're not a fan of
When its written by retards

>I wanted a kid warrior on adventures with building story lore
You see, like in the title "Adventure Time".

>No, there really isnt.
This,The dialogue became cringey and excessive even the awkward silence in alot of earlier episode was managed well and made the show atmospheric

You're preaching to the choir buddy. I agree AT doesn't have an overarching story, I'm only saying it became more focused on continuity vs purely episodic towards the end. Probably because they knew the series was ending soon and needed to wrap up a bunch of loose ends.

I want to go back.

No fun. Only gays now.

Which ended being a rushed garbage like the lich dying
>Continuity
Everything after s1 had episodicly

They ruined my boy Finn he's cucked by 2 lesbians he'll other become asexual or a faggot after the end

Hall of Egress, Stakes, The More you Moe, Crossover, High Strangeness, Imaginary Resources, Ring of Fire, First Investigation, Come Along With Me, are all good examples of being comfy and melancholic in my mind.

Anyone that dislikes the later seasons should cut off the show at Mortal Recoil.

Only those especially the more you moe
>Ring of Fire, First Investigation, Come Along With Me
No

I never understood the whole "adventure time went downhill" thing. It started declining in season 5 and hit a rock bottom with Stakes, but season 7 and 8 were actually pretty good. Of course season 9 just shat the bed again so I can understand people dismissing the later seasons entirely but they weren't all shit like Zig Forums purports.

No season 6 is good 8 and 9 are just garbage

>what happened Bros?
Women happened

Kinda unorthodox since I always assumed season 6 was the more controversial one between them. The only outright bad season was season 9 honestly, even season 5 and 6 still had a lot of good episodes. I never got Zig Forums's melodramatic hatred for the later seasons, it never got as bad as Spongebob.

I didn't care much for the tone shift to less fun after season 3, but it was still enjoyable. I didn't love the finale (who did?), but the last few minutes with the song playing and seeing everyone's life go on definitely moved me and reminded me of why I loved the show in the first place.

That's not the criticism i would give infact i think the first toneshift was the best thing in the series it progressed so naturally you didn't even notice till later
>Basing your thoughts on other
I liked the background characters episode and that mini comet arc that was foreshadowed

season 9 is weak, but season 8 was great I thought. Islands is overrated tho.
