No. Why the fuck would anyone be embarrassed

ever since 12 year old me bought Trouble in the early 2000s, I have been embarrased of being a comic book fan

My enjoyment of the MCU has no real connection to my enjoyment of comic books.
Same for Hellboy and the non-awful WB efforts, and the Fox-Men movies.
Some of the Fantastic Four Fox shit did make me slink down in my seat a bit.

I don't give a fuck about Marvel or DC, only Spiderman. As for MCU Spidey, he alright, it not subtle or nuanced, it tasteless and lukewarm, but it alright, it reminds me of Raimi Spidey which i like better, but same Spidey noneless.

The movies are so juvenile compared to the best of the comics.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA

You mean the comics that reguarly have stupid shit in them like Carol Danvers getting fucked by her future kid to give birth to himself. Or Spiderman making a pact with Maphisto? Or the spidermobile. Comics are much more juvenile

comedies are based
the only people who dont like the more fun side of marvel are smoothbrain actionfags who only understand action scenes

Some people like a little drama or character driven movies. Joker was like that

No because I don't read Marvel

Did you like Shazam?

i liked Guardians

every joke in Ragnarok is the same thing, to quote my little brother

>"Hey, you know that thing that looked like it was gonna happen? Well it didn't! LOOOOL!"

liked it i guess, though it felt like they were trying to hold back in case of not being labelled as marvel copycats

I feel embarrassed for those that think they're comic fans because of the MCU.

Kind of, yeah.

I was never really into Marvel so I liked most of the movies. DC hurt a lot.

You are talking about cape comics, if you think they are nothing but juvenile you are a fucking retard.

Not as much as Netflix and other streaming services.....Umbrella Academy, Watchmen, Preacher, Lock & Key, Doom Patrol...soon even Sandman....pretty soon I have to hide all these books from the shelf, unless people coming over will think I'm a fucking tv series-loving NPC

Not until the writing drops. So, anything after infinity war.

Yes because I was a comic book fan some years before the MCU started and I used to be a MCU fan too, seeing them being so popular just for being generic and dumbs quip fest with a lot of CGI it's sad and embarrassing.

But also no because they are so popular that basically all the world is a fan of the MCU and they love the movies no matter how stupid are.

Oh, I thought you meant because it made us pretend comics were high art.

Ragnarok is my favorite movie to date because it's just funny as hell and a mile a minute, you know, like a comic book? Captain America's movies suck ass because they're just generic boring-ass action movies.

Were the comics ever wacky like this? what about GotG's comics?

Nothing bad with comedy... as long it fit the characters and situation, like Ant-Man, there should be some balance but when Marvel formula to success is:

Let's make the MC a charismatic clown but let's also have several others comic relief characters, they all should make forced jokes even in serious moments.

Just look at Drax, then look at Korg and the next one is Red Guardian.

They weren't a quip fest, that for sure... and they used to use more characters.

this and also

>IMAGINE TAKING SHIT SERIOUSLY LUL GET FUCKED NERD

Old school comics could be pretty funny

No, but cape comics make me embarassed to be a comics fan. DC and Marvel should perish in flames.

For me it was the other way around, I tried getting into marvel comics because of the MCU but all I found was weird shit like GirlThor beating up incels and Captain America being a secret Nazi.

>Has the MCU made you embarassed to be a comics fan?
No, because they're just crappy movies made for the LCD and intentional flanderizations of the material they parody. Normalkeks aren't going to read comics anymore than I'm going to pay to see their movies so its really a non issue.

Why the fuck you started reading current volumes of characters you like? it's like starting reading X-Men with Hickman's run instead of at least starting with Claremont

Based! my friends are fans of the MCU although they used to say that Comicbook movies were stupid... do you think they ever asked for a recomendation of comics? never!

id like to see movies based on this comic age. maybe we'd like it more
