Batman has gotten more distrusting and underhanded in the past 10 or so years. There's even retcons to his past relationships, such as how Dick became Nightwing. Originally that was him simply wanting to be his own hero. Fast forward and now it's a falling out between the two and Batman basically kicks Dick out.

Also fuck off with the edge, and make it that robin wanted ot be his own person like it use to be, but also make it that batman supports it, because it keeps dick safer most of all, make batman a real father figure, and make a comic where batman "Died" and all of the robins fight for the cowl, only for batman to appear to explain why he can only be batman, stating that "Batman" is a sort of curse, and that he wants robin to never dawn the cowl.

No, The Joker had his own distinct character. He was an egotistical, criminal reverse-clown that loved to laugh at others and hated being laughed at himself. A katagelasticist through and through, he planned his crimes to humiliate others for his own enjoyment, and advertised them like a fool. His comeuppance at the hands of Batman made for enjoyable reads.

This is true of any character with staying power. A character can't last more than a few years without room for reinvention as times and tastes evolve.

I like Superman. He's one of the best, most iconic characters DC has. And I like him enough to understand this writer understands neither of the characters he's talking about but thinks using popular character X as a strawman is an easy way to make his favourite character seem cooler by comparison. Which is, of course, a disservice to all characters involved. Just like Doomsday Clock was.

Silver age was the peak of Superman, casual. He was the same character in the golden age too.
