5G CANCELLED

> Batman 5G and John Ridley's part in it were never announced by DC Comics, that was originally the plan for San Diego Comic-Con. Now, it seems they will no longer be. Possibly the work may reappear in another form. What this means for the other planned tiles is not clarified, maybe Brian Bendis will still see Jonathan Kent as the new Superman, but a line-wide fifth generation of DC Comics heroes, featuring a new line-up of lead characters is no more. And for some, that will mean it never was, and was just Bleeding Cool making it all up.

>And for some, that will mean it never was, and was just Bleeding Cool making it all up.
Faggots are literally seething nobody buys their clickbait.

So the ending of that Watchmen storyline is already wrong

The only actual titles that was planned and announced I care about is the JSA/Golden age hero stuff. We better still get Generation One: Age of Mysteries and and Snyder's Wonder Woman/JSA origin series.

I also liked the over all time-line. Just get rid of the hard dates and semi-real time progression for things after the Golden Age.

Oh darn I was soooooo looking forward to it. Oh well.

Based DC, realizing it was a bad idea and cancelling the project.

>titles that was planned and announced
Do you have a list?

It makes sense with both companies being in bad positions right now it would be really stupid to replace their biggest heroes.

>yfw all the free falling comic sales and canceled reboots causes DC and Marvel to throw in together and do a crossover to stay afloat

Hmm... I really don't care for this one. I've never seen Luke replacing Bruce, over all the other Robin's. Especially if there was going to be a time skip.

Good. We do need a relaunch though, the line is awful and needs new (or old) writers and a total shakeup.

It was referenced by name in Doomsday Clock

M8 the whole of big two needs a shakeup. I don't feel like reading any of their books. Why the fuck is Williamson still on Flash?
Fuck Snyder, Johns, Tynion, Tomasi, Bendis, Zdarsky, Cates, Ewing. They should've given Batman to Priest. Stop printing Superman for a few years.

And nothing of value was lost.

The only smart decision DC Comics did in a LOOOOOOOONG time

L M A O
>delays screw up the canon series of events of doomsday clock, it was out a year later than scheduled
>was gonna to be important in the 5G event
>all doomsday clock did was just say Dr. Manhattan exists in the DC universe, so what.
Goddamn does DC just like to shit on Geoff Johns?

Yeah has any other comic referenced the events in doomsday clock? Have they even caught up to the supposed "year after current events" it was supposed to be set?

Pretty sure death metal will but for the entire wrong reasons

It also brought back the JSA and introduced Bendis's legion.

The JSA is back in continuity. Wonder Woman's referenced her new golden age origin, Power Girl appeared in Harley Quinn, Jakeen Thunder's in teen titans, and the JSA was suppose to put in a team appearance in Shazam.

Ma and Pa Kent have shown up alive, does that count?

>It also brought back the JSA and introduced Bendis's legion.
JSA appeared in Snyder's JL months before though, and Bendis' LoSH also started up months before the final issue.

Jakeem Thunder appeared in the Teen Titans book if that counts

What the fuck is so hard about just doing an Ultimate-esque Universe.

I know they tried that with Earth 2, but Robinson left and it ended on bad terms. So why not just try again?

New 52 Earth 2 was broken from the start even before they had Darkseid trash the universe as nobody wanted the JSA to be replaced with a heavily altered version. I still don't get what the fuck they were thinking with that version of Earth 2. They should have just had the JSA continue on from where they'd been pre flashpoint like Batman and Green Lantern just on their own earth.

Though really the entirety of the new 52 should had been an ultimate universe.

It could be fun.

The problem is that no matter what big event or crisis the Big 2 have, it will still be the same shlubs writing and drawing the books afterward.

Why is she such a slut?

Imagine half a decade of hyping an event that flopped hard and ended with some talk no jutsu

Johns didn't want 5G

Delays forced him to rewrite some stuff to include recent changes to try and keep the book in continuity before ultimately being forced out

That whole last issue was written as a response to the "reboot every 5 years" mentality saying that ultimately everything corrects itself

It was ironically saying "it don't matter, none of this matters"

5g mutates dna and makes people more likely to die from the Obama/FBI/CIA/Deepstate invented "Coronavirus"

I'm trying to ignore that since we'll never get to see a comfy Jon visiting the grand parents and they get into some sort of shenanigan. Thanks Bendis!

Pretty much

It was all mostly the legacy characters:
>Batman: Luke Fox
>Superman: Jonathan Kent
>Wonder Woman: Donna?
>Green Lantern: New Lantern
>Flash: Wally

And all the legacy characters would be aged out or working in a mentor role.

>>all doomsday clock did was just say Dr. Manhattan exists in the DC universe, so what.
It also brought back the JSA (Yay!), created Bendis Legion (Boo!), and brought a bunch of other character (Wow!).

What's ligma?

Yes! Remember when they were going to let Scott Snyder kill off Aquaman so KSD could turn his book into Blaqualad begins then his movie made a billion? Then they were going to time skip to make Blaqualad take over? Lmao You just cant keep Arthur down.
