Becky your father's corpse is right there
Dumbing of Age
She's about 5 minutes away from fucking Dina on top of him.
Shock. It delays feelings of loss and sadness. I should know. I"ve been in the same room with dead relatives. And about a week later I suddenly fell apart.
Holy fuck is the tone supposed to be fucked up? Because this is very fucked uo.
>I should know. I"ve been in the same room with dead relatives
And your friends started talking about drawing dicks on whiteboards?
No we just started talking about whatever. Anything to distract. My mind went to other places. Anywhere besides 'Dead Family Member on the bed'
David Willis is 41 years old and will never get over his mommy and daddy issues because they forced him to go to church and be a good little austere Protestant boy growing up.
They offer him a convenient excuse for everything that's fucked up about him.
I mean I alwasys feel a sense of arrested development in that I'm in my thirties but still feel like I'm in my late teens/early twenties at times (I wouldn't be so into dumb nerd shit without it probably) but Willis seems to be permanently stuck mentally at like 9. Fucking Carla is born from a fake cartoon that amounted to Speed Buggy as a minivan that he drew when he was in elementary school.
Becky should just piss on her dead father. Let's just get it all out there
Also shit most of these characters go back to Roomies. He's literally been running like three or four different permutations of these characters for almost 25 years and I think a few of them go back to when he was in high school.
Anyway now that some psychopaths, dykes and backsliders have killed a good Christian man I hope Mary brings holy vengeance down on them.
Last time we saw Mary was her drawing hang ups of her anime dependency
I miss slice of life shit
You mean you aren't enjoying severe tonal whiplash, deaths, and kidnapping??
As for the strips with Mary and Malaya, Willis must really think he's saying something profound while having avoided improvement for over 15 years.
I miss the slice-of-life too. It's what drew me to it in the first place. I was a sophomore in college at the time, so it seemed fitting.
Remember when Dina was actually precious??
I like this version of Amber a lot better than whatever she's turned into now.
Pretty sure this is the only strip relating to anything Willis actually saw or did at college.
Remember when Becky wasn't insufferable?
>aren't enjoying severe tonal whiplash, deaths, and kidnapping??
Maybe I could if it made sense.
1. Bending the story almost to breaking point to bring back Toedad.
2. Amber dad connection to the criminal underworld. If he was by himself I can see him rounding the some frat Bros. But if he has crooked cops and mafia this is whole thing is a waste of time.
Yeah, everything has been totally absurd. It's weird to look at old strips and see how normal they used to be.
Amber's dad and Toedad--how did they even find each other? It's weird that they met and even weirder that they're both totally okay with kidnapping and murder and such.
And if Blaine really does have all these people, there's just nothing to stop him from knocking out Amber and taking her with him, honestly.
Here's a fun old Joyce comic.
For anyone wondering, the Whiteboard Ding-Dong Bandit plot was literally back in 2014.
This comic is very much not friendly to new readers.
God she's so adorable.
>Smell Yo Lightsaber
I wish people would stop posting this garbage.
Yeah I feel that. Me and my brother just started making really weird jokes when we were waiting for the police - it didn't really hit until almost a full hour after. I think it's just kinda like that when you can't really deal with the situation but it's not like, fight or flight either
Old Joyce was the best.
Hey I got you this cup of date rape
No thanks
Fucking drink it!
Date rape? My favorite! How did you know?
>2014 was a month ago
Feel old yet?
Yes!! My 20s recently ended. Meanwhile, Joyce, 10 years later, is still getting ready for her first college midterms.
>haha Mary draws anime what a bitch you go Malaya
I get that Willis will never, ever give Mary a win or god forbid allow her to be portrayed in a way even approaching sympathy or actually grow as a character because she's EVIL and CHRISTIAN but how am I not supposed to sympathize her when every time she shows up it's to be bullied and degraded by these self-important assholes?
I dunno, she seems pretty insufferable there. I'm doubting your claims of previous sufferability.
She was originally a grounding force for Joyce, to remind her of where she came from and who she has been her whole life. She might come off as overbearing in that strip, but it's just the right amount of nudging at Joyce's religious upbringing and her latent desire to step away from it.
Noooo, bullying is fine when it's toward the correct people! That's what I learned from Willis's comment section.
It's hilarious that Willis would shit on his own characters for art flaws that his has in his own work constantly.
>bullying is fine when it's toward the correct people!
Remember when they smack the shit of of Mary and still had her look like a Bad guy.
